Actor Jeremy Renner suffered “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” after a New Year’s Day snow plowing accident, a spokesperson for the actor said Monday evening.
Renner had surgery Monday and “remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition,” the spokesperson said.
“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families,” a statement from his spokesperson read. “They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
The “Hawkeye” actor has so far required two surgeries to address injuries he sustained in the accident, a source close to the actor previously told CNN.
“His injuries are extensive,” they said.
Renner was hospitalized in critical condition after being injured in Nevada, his publicist confirmed to CNN earlier on Monday.
“As of now, we can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow earlier today,” Sam Mast told CNN in a statement. “His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”
Officers responded to a “traumatic injury” in the area of Mount Rose Highway in Reno, according to a news release from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, which has previously said the Academy Award-nominated actor lived in the community.
The sheriff’s office did not provide details on the extent of Renner’s injuries or what may have caused the accident.
His family is expected to release a statement Monday evening, the source close to the actor added.
Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Renner via care flight to a local area hospital, the release stated.
Renner, who stars in the Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown” and has been featured in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films – in the role of Hawkeye – was the only person involved in the accident, officials said.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is looking into the circumstances.
Renner has featured multiple videos and photos on his verified social media accounts showing him in snowy conditions.
A photo from a year ago posted on his Instagram account shows a group of trees in an area with significant snow fall.
“How would you feel if your driveway looked like this??,” his caption reads. “I’m so happy Mother Nature dictates my day!”
In one video posted two weeks ago and featured in his Instagram holiday highlights reels, Renner appears to be driving a snow plow with the caption, “pave new paths, holiday adventures.”
Another from a week ago shows snow being plowed with the caption, “Nearly done with sledding hill for the kids.”

Whenever celebrities declare a fact about themselves, they become targets for public scrutiny. Even if celebrities say that what they do is their business, they cannot prevent judgment for their actions coming from people who see them.
For Pretty Celebrity (PC), admitting to a life-changing decision gained sympathy from followers. Many were able to connect with PC as she relayed her struggle. Most especially, PC was admired for her reflections and outlook towards the future. Overcoming her major issue exposed her truth. PC’s decision to open up in social media ended speculations on her state of affairs.
Nonetheless, PC’s coming out of her shell made many wonder how she was coping with the changes. After acceptance, PC had to rely on her own mechanisms, which made many believe she was doing well in managing her direction.
Sometime ago, PC was spotted in a popular celebrity hang-out kissing a non-showbiz guy while partying. Kibitzers wondered if PC’s actions were part of her coping mechanisms. Her making out moment in public led to comments that getting touchy-feely with a new man is part of her healing. The alleged scene seemed to have doused the profundity of PC’s insights on moving on, that is, all she needed was to engage in flirtatious behavior with a man.

After years of keeping the extent of their relationship from the public eye, pretending to be in a certain state to ensure the truth is kept private, the effort seems to be futile.
When Dashing Actor (DA) and Showbiz Girlfriend (SG) revealed their relationship, they made many fans happy. Fans love it when their idols transcend the reel to real. Except for a few doubters, DA and SG proved their love by fighting for it. Family did not matter as long as they were together.
Fast forward to many years, rumors are loud that their little paradise has shown cracks and might already be over. Allegedly, DA felt he was belittled by SG’s family. DA would be left behind whenever SG and her family attended gatherings despite a bond that holds the two tightly. Rather than develop resentment over the fact that SG seems unable to fight for them anymore, he chose to move away. Instead of such resentment leading to arguments, DA did the noble thing.
However, another side of the story did not paint DA well. That story claimed DA was not a good provider and spent time playing games instead of using his time better. He would rather drink with pals and have a good time. Thus, SG has had enough and their relationship was strained.
Although no formal announcement of the breakup has been made by either DA or SG, social media is making followers of DA wonder. DA has been seen in a post with Female Influencer (FI). The post has sparked speculations if DA has indeed ended his relationship with SG and found solace in the arms of FI. If true, 2022 started well but ended disappointingly for DA and SG.
