Hard Work for Whom

Friends of Hardworking Talent (HT) are worried about his family situation. Despite the pandemic and scarcity of work, HT managed to overcome such obstacles to ensure his livelihood. The career actions of HT are understandable given that he is determined to prove he is a responsible provider for a growing family.

However, his friends have observed that others might be taking advantage of HT’s enterprising spirit. When HT got married, he probably did not anticipate that their home would be like an open house. Allegedly, the family of HT’s wife has been spending time in their home, eating their food, and making themselves comfortable. HT, of course, is away from home and working to live up to the expectation of being a good head of the family. Friends fear that HT’s perseverance is no longer just for him and his immediate family, and others are taking advantage.

Nonetheless, HT is far too in love with his wife and he even made sure she has more than enough household help to manage their home. HT is also aware of his wife’s closeness to her family and calling her attention to their extended presence in their home would only create friction.

The production team could only feel disappointment when the announcement of the delay was made. The team was relying on the revenues of the project and the delay would affect the corresponding revenue had the schedule been followed. When the reason for the delay was revealed, most were disappointed as Lead Talent (LT) was highly involved.

During the planning of the project, everyone in the team was reminded to follow strict guidelines to prevent the possibility of contracting the virus. These days, extra precaution is needed as the virus can hit anyone who has yet to be vaccinated and is negligent of protocols.

While everything was set in motion, LT did not realize that his innocent action would unleash a consequence. LT invited A Friend (AF) over for dinner. His Assistant (HA) served dinner and went home afterwards. LT and AF were talking into the evening and HA had no idea as to what transpired when he left the two alone. A few days later, AF informed LT that he had the flu and had a positive swab result. Thus, HA and LT had to quarantine themselves just to make sure they would not spread the virus in case they caught it. The production team was in disbelief that LT was unmindful. Meanwhile, as HA was not privy into LT’s private activities, the buzz is that the producer has theories, which cannot be made public.

A Network Executive (NE) was surprised at the request of Versatile Actor (VA). Since the time the go-signal to resume work was given for productions, teams have been extra-careful in following pandemic protocols. Swab tests, quarantine measures, and even production shutdown have been implemented to ensure safety in lock-in shoots. The untimely deaths of production people attributed to covid-19 have further escalated the measures.

VA asked NE for a 100% increase in his daily rate. VA cited that covid-19 was claiming lives left and right and he wants to secure his finances in case he might be hit by the virus during the project. NE said that higher management will have to be consulted. However, NE said that VA’s request might not be approved given that production teams have been implementing strict measures. VA said that his lawyer advised him to back out or ask for a raise given the covid risk.

After some time, VA followed up his request. NE said that the legal advice is to stick to the stipulations of the signed contract. In case VA gets hit by covid, the management has group insurance to shoulder hospitalization. Besides, doubling his rate is too much. VA was then told to take it or leave it, and he can opt to buy back his contract if he wants to. VA did not respond.

While many talents are scrambling for work, Preferred Talent (PT) uses her non-acting talent and social media platforms to earn for her family. Whenever she is asked how she remains afloat without network projects, PT would answer that she manages with her revenues from her business and shout-outs.

However, times are tough and PT realized she needed another means to earn. A good talent can never be turned down and PT was offered a project. There’s a catch. The producers wanted PT not to gain weight and trimming down a bit was better. The role required a certain look and TV usually adds more weight on screen. PT agreed and subsequently asked for initial payment.

A few weeks later, the producers called for a meeting as the project was about to start rolling. They were shocked, as PT no longer looked the part. She was advised to get in shape according to the role that was offered if she did not want to be replaced. PT said that the time given to her was insufficient given the circumstances. The producers were very disappointed and aggravated as PT had no plans of returning her advance pay. Now, the production is mulling that PT might suddenly exhibit an attitude in the middle of production if they continue the project with her.

Two Counts of Aggravated Acts of Lasciviousness and Aggravated Slight Physical Injuries Filed Against Popular BL Actor Tony Labrusca

On June 4, 2021, two criminal cases were filed against the popular Boy Love (BL) Actor Tony Labrusca, who is an ABS-CBN talent, with the Office of the City Prosecutor of Makati City. Tony will face raps for two (2) counts of Aggravated Acts of Lasciviousness he committed while allegedly under the heavy influence of alcohol on January 16, 2021. According to the complaining woman, Tony allegedly molested her twice by, first, coming from the back to intentionally flick her spaghetti straps to expose her breast and by, second, pulling her from the waist towards himself to sit her on his lap. The woman is a friend of renowned jeweler and businessman Drake Dustin Ibay who is also witness to the case and recently posted snippets on his Instagram of what happened that night.

The popular BL actor will also face a criminal complaint for aggravated physical injuries filed by Drake Ibay’s brother who was allegedly choked by Tony after helping him go down the stairs for being too drunk that night. According to both the complainant’s lawyer, Atty. Regie Tongol in a separate statement, Tony “had been seen by not less than four witnesses to actively sought alcohol to embolden himself that is why the charges were aggravated by his intentional intoxication.”

The Office of the City Prosecutor of Makati will hear the complaint and decide whether an information would be filed in court against Labrusca. According to Atty. Tongol, “Mr. Labrusca being a public figure and a foreigner must learn not to be abusive of women. My clients hope that this case would encourage women and anyone who have been victims of abuses by public figures such as Mr. Labrusca whether sexual or otherwise to not be afraid to stand up and be heard.”

Successful Actress (SA) has always valued privacy. Only bits and pieces of her personal life are revealed in social media. Hardly does SA post anything controversial as well. However, the public has witnessed her professional growth and rise to her present status. SA started playing minor roles in various projects until she was finally noticed for her looks and eventually, her acting skills. Soon, producers gave her significant roles. Her talent was honed by portraying various roles in movies and TV shows. Years of hard work paid off, which were acknowledged by recognition from critics and fans.

Meanwhile, SA allegedly has a well-kept secret, that is, she has a special relationship with her Sugar Daddy (SD). SD is known to be very wealthy. SA does not really have to work if she so desires, as SD can support her all the way. The alleged relationship has been ongoing for a few years.
