Sarah Geronimo will soon be returning as one of the coaches of “The Voice Kids.”
The Pop Star Royalty confirmed this news in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News on Friday.
Following the launch of her own makeup line, the singer-actress was asked what her supporters could expect from her for the rest of the year.
“Ayun po, I will be busy promoting my own makeup line. I will film a movie. And abangan niyo po, magkakaroon ng another season ang ‘The Voice Kids’ this year. Yes po [babalik ako as a coach],” she said.
“The Voice Kids,” the hit global format’s edition for young aspirants, is currently gearing up for a fourth season with the announcement of online auditions.
The singing competition is open to kids aged 7 to 12. Audition videos can be sent via e-mail to TheVoiceKidsABSCBN@gmail.com, according to a teaser released on the program’s social media pages.
Aside from Geronimo, it seems like Broadway star Lea Salonga will also be coming back as a coach after she shared the auditions teaser online, writing: “So, mga bulilit, do you have what it takes?”
Geronimo and Salonga were among the original four coaches of “The Voice of the Philippines,” along with Bamboo and apl.de.ap.
With the exception of The Black Eyed Peas member, the coaches returned for “The Voice Kids” across two seasons, with Sharon Cuneta replacing Geronimo for the third in 2016.
“The Voice Kids” has produced several stars since its 2014 inception, with the likes of Lyca Gairanod, Darren Espanto, Juan Karlos, Elha Nympha, and Kyle Echarri remaining active in showbiz.

Mistaken Conceived Notions
Companies have often relied on celebrities to endorse their products to increase the awareness and patronage of the public. Only celebrities that these companies believe embody their vision are offered hefty packages to ensure acceptance. On the one hand, some celebrities accept endorsements for the sake of the money and exposure. On the other hand, certain celebrities rely more on their principles and agree to be the face of products they actually consume or believe in.
Over the years, this group of celebrities have proven to be effective endorsers of a Certain Product (CP). The Group (TG) has also grown with the development of the product itself and the corresponding company. Moreover, CP has been supportive of the personal and non-personal endeavors of TG.
One time, TG was going to shoot an ad for CP. Initially, the Production Team (PT) was a bit jittery as the shoot included the Younger Generation (YG). Similarly, YG has also been synonymous with CP. PT expected YG to be a handful as they are quite familiar with the system. Moreover, the crew thought YG would be brats and give them a hard time during the shoot.
The fears of PT did not materialize at all. YG was easy to work with and behaved throughout the shoot. However, what surprised PT was the distant attitude of the Older Ones (OO). In one of the lulls, OO called the attention of YG for touching CP prior to the shoot. YG was just curious, but that did not sit well with OO. Except for such incident the shoot went on smoothly.
‘You can control two things: your work ethic and your attitude about anything.’ – Ali Krieger

Repost: James Reid Out of 'Pedro Penduko' Due to Spinal Injury

This may break the heart of James Reid’s fans but the handsome actor has just formally bid goodbye to what would have been his first full-length action-fantasy titular role as Pedro Penduko.
Viva Films, James’s home studio and the same company that is producing the iconic movie, released a statement Friday, May 31, saying that it “has accepted the withdrawal of James Reid from the movie Pedro Penduko.”
The official statement adds that James’s withdrawal from the project had something to do with his present medical conditon: “James has spinal injuries and the film Pedro Penduko involves intensive training and major stunts. His regular therapy and treatment prohibits him to train hard or perform for the rigid requirements.”
James, who has been training intensely in parkour, martial arts and martial arts weaponry since early last year, will instead do a reunion movie with his on-and-off-screen sweetheart, Nadine Lustre. The movie, called Spellbound, will be a Pinoy adaptation of the hit Korean movie of the same title.
Viva’s full statement reads:
“Viva Films regretfully announces that it has accepted the withdrawal of James Reid from the movie Pedro Penduko for medical reasons.
James has spinal injuries and the film Pedro Penduko involves intensive training and major stunts. His regular therapy and treatment prohibits him to train hard or perform for the rigid requirements.
James has spent over a year training and getting ready for this film and Viva truly appreciates his dedication and commitment to this project. Viva respects James decision and wishes him a speedy recovery.
In the works is a reunion movie with Nadine Lustre. It will be a remake of the hit Korean movie, Spellbound.”
Pedro Penduko, the Pinoy superhero character created by National Artist for Literature Francisco V. Coching, has been adapted for films quite a number of times since 1954. But the modern-day take—which is to be directed by Treb Monteras (Respeto)—was based on Epik Studios’ comic of the same name. It would kickstart with a young Pinoy guy from the States who returns to the Philippines after his father’s mysterious death. He begins his adventures there.
[Epik Studios is a mixed-media creative hub that’s also run by Viva Films.]
Viva has yet to announce who will replace James for the role.
