The deal was almost done. Details were already ironed out and the contract was bound to be inked. The network had a potential big fish moving to their side of town, while Idle Actress (IA) was finally going to have work in a new environment and with new personalities. However, the wind suddenly blew a different course and IA realized what she wanted to do. Negotiations were halted.
Sometime ago, a popular role could not seem to get into the right hands. This project was rumored to be one of the main reasons, among others, as to why Rival Actress (RA) packed up her bags and left the station that gave her a chance to soar. Years passed and RA eventually abandoned the said project.
Then, the project was given to Worthy Contender (WC), who had started training and was awaited by her followers and that of the project. WC knew she would be giving up many opportunities to prepare for the project. However, she did not anticipate the toll the project would have on her health. In a snap, the project was left hanging.
This gap made IA change her mind about moving. The clamor of her fans for her to take on the role added confidence for her to broach the idea to be considered. She even talked to Someone Close (SC) for him to send feelers to his connections to the management, if not the big bosses themselves. After all, IA has the body and the fitness to tackle the role. IA told SC that she’s ready for training and she’s motivated to breathe life in the role she wants most.
Rumors, however, have it that the management is considering Pretty Actress (PA), who seems to be the favorite of critics, on the one hand. On the other hand, the management is looking for the actress who can assure the production of high box-office returns, draw the crowds, and be perfect for the role. Thus, leaving IA hoping against hope that she’ll even be considered.
