Not a Rosy Reality
As times changes, so did the hosts, but NS remained true to its essence to entertain. However, the audience wanted something new and NS had to think of an idea that could increase the viewership. The strategy was a no-brainer, as Talented Actor (TA) and Outspoken Celebrity (OC) were between jobs. The network was still recovering from the unimpressive result of the prior project of TA and OC, and thus, to keep interest in them, they were included in NS.
The followers of NS and TA and OC were excited at the change. Finally, TA and OC can be seen in their spontaneous moments. For young performers, being included in NS should be a dream come true. Strategically, the viewership alone of NS cuts across ages, which is the perfect opportunity for TA and OC to be exposed to a wider group. Being visible also means that they will be within the radar of the audience.
Unfortunately, TA and OC allegedly were not too serious with their stint. Tardiness became a problem. Then, sometimes, one would say he/she was not feeling well and their fans would be disappointed at not seeing them. During the show itself, adjustments are made to assure that TA and OC have much exposure. Worse, sudden changes on their part would lead to numbers being bumped off or adjusted just to accommodate them.
The management is considering ‘game over!’ for TA and OC as far as their stint in NS is concerned. The realization is that the attitude of TA and OC plays a big role in the decision. Moreover, in terms of return on investment, the network is not really making that much on TA and OC compared with their own talents. By having network talents grace trade fairs and other out of town events, the network does not have to pay any other fee, unlike if the services of TA and OC are obtained.
‘People may hear your words, but they feel your attitude.’ - John C. Maxwell

Repost: ‘Blogger or Asec?’ Binay Asks Mocha to Decide

Maybe it is “high time” for Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson to decide whether she wants to stay in government or continue as a blogger, Senator Nancy Binay said on Wednesday.
Uson’s position as an Assistant Secretary and a blogger became the subject of discussion when she repeatedly said during the hearing of the Senate committee on public information and mass media that she is a blogger, and not a journalist.
“Blogger po ako (I am a blogger). Hindi po ako journalist (I am not a journalist),” Uson said when Senator Bam Aquino pressed her to answer whether or not she tried to get the sides of opposition members, who were the subject of his posts on her personal Facebook account.
“Unang-una po, karapatan po ng blogger yun sa kanyang opinion, madam chair kung, gusto po n’yang hingin ang side ng isang tao. Opinion po ang blogging unlike po sa mainstream media, meron po silang obligasyon po bago po nila i-report ang fake news na ginawa nila,” Uson added.
Senator Grace Poe, chair of the Senate committee on public information and mass media, then asked Undersecretary Joel Egco if Uson was employed as a blogger of PCOO.
Egco explained that Uson was Assistant Secretary for social media and asked if they have already lost their right to speak and right to express their opinions being in government.
“Yes you have. If you speak officially on a government side, you have unless you clarify that it’s your personal opinion but you should not use the government portal,” Poe said.
Binay shared Poe’s opinion, saying Uson cannot be an Assistant Secretary and a blogger at the same time.
“Clarification na lang since we’re all government officials, we are bound by Republic Act 6713 under Section 4. Nakasulat dun, we can’t use the excuse of doing things in your capacity as a private individual o parang malinaw na malinaw na at this point in time hindi mo na pwedeng ihiwalay yung pagiging blogger mo sa pagiging Asec. mo,” she said.
“Di ba parang malinaw na talaga baka it’s high time for you to decide kung gusto mong maging blogger o maging Asec.,” Binay added. /kga

Claudine Barretto is finally making her comeback.
Claudine and the late Rico Yan were the most popular love team in the Philippines back then. Among the fans’ favorites was the hit “Dahil Mahal Na Mahal Kita” in 1998.
Claudine said in an interview back in 2015 that she wants her niece, Julia, to play the lead character if ever “Dahil Mahal Na Mahal Kita” is adapted.
“Claudine said back then, "I told Direk Wenn and I told Tita Malou Santos, I want Julia to do the remake of Dahil Mahal Na Mahal Kita. And then ako si Jaclyn Jose, mas pinalakihan yung role."
Jaclyn Jose was her aunt in the movie.
Will the hit movie be remade? Stay tuned.
