Some sectors observed that the increasing use of social media of celebrities to express their thoughts and to share a glimpse into their life has diminished the role of reporters and press conferences. Others even say that reporters no longer need to interview celebrities on issues, as their social media accounts could already contain their reactions and other insights. Moreover, the attendance of reporters in certain press conferences has been limited to a certain number, which is detrimental to the new ones who are trying to break into entertainment reporting. Usually, the more seasoned ones are assured of slots considering that they have following and they write for publications with wide readership.

Given that the interaction between reporters and celebrities is limited, invitations to press conferences for promotion of movies and teleseryes or even just to mingle with talents are highly valued. One time, when reporters learned that Low-key Actor (LA) would be attending the press conference, they were excited. LA has been very private about his personal life even though external factors have revealed much of what he refuses to divulge.

However, the excitement immediately died down when the reporters were informed that LA has strict rules on the questions that will be asked from him. The major rule is that no questions about his non-showbiz life should be asked. This restriction raised many eyebrows from the press. Sometimes, details on the personal life of a celebrity are inevitably asked because readers are more interested to know about the private selves of their idols.

Other reactions from the invitees were directed at the distance LA has placed between him and the press. LA is aloof about his personal life, which the public is already aware of because of the uploads in social media. Instead of speculations, the press would want confirmation coming from LA and reaction on issues dragging his name. Nonetheless, LA has managed to elude questions concerning his family and his lovelife. His attitude has been deemed as arrogant and a reason that could explain why he has not really reached stardom despite the jumpstart he was bestowed upon moving to his new home.

During the presscon, the rule was implemented and all questions for LA were not related to his personal life. Hence, not much was worthy of a scoop from LA and articles were focused on his projects, nothing more.
