Realizing a Costly Lesson
PP and CB started in the entertainment industry at a young age. PP was in her teens when she was spotted and given a chance by a network. Similarly, CB was discovered because of her youthful glow and attractiveness. However, both of their careers were short-lived because both fell in love. PP tried her hand at making her relationship work, but it was for naught. By contrast, CB fought hard to win her lover and she was triumphant.
As time passed, the lifestyle of PP and CB tremendously improved as a result of family effort. Unknowingly, PP’s child brought unexpected fortune and fame, which was like her second chance in the business. Meanwhile, CB had not only raised successful children, as she was also known for her business acumen.
Prior to her visit, CB met PP at a party. Immediately, CB noticed the shimmery-shiny look of PP. PP’s jewelry caught her eye. As they exchanged pleasantries, CB praised PP for her passion for jewelry and the choice of her pieces. Shyly, PP said that her collection was a form of investment, which sounded familiar to CB. After talking some more, CB said that she has a few pieces PP might find interesting and that she will visit her soon.
That soon was just a few hours after the party, which surprised PP. The helper led CB into the home of PP and she was welcomed. CB showed her merchandise and PP bought a few that amounted to a seven-digit figure. A few weeks later, PP, out of curiosity requested a jeweler to examine the pieces she bought from CB. To her shock, the expert said that the set was merely worth less than a third of the amount she paid CB. The said amount did not even seven figures.
For someone who has been short-changed by a very hefty amount, PP opted to stay quiet. First, she agreed on the said amount and did not argue with CB. Second, she knows that making a fuss would only make CB unleash her feisty personality, a negativity PP does not need. Moreover, CB could merely ignore her. Finally, PP has more to lose if she confronts CB and besides, at the rate her finances are going, she could easily cover up the amount she sort of loss. However, PP learned her lesson and she knew that she should be careful in dealing with the likes of CB. It was a lesson for PP to become smarter, but it was a very costly lesson, indeed.
