This half-German, half-Filipino actress knew that this other Filipino-Spanish actress and former reality show contestant was not attending the Star Magic Ball so she decided to transfer to her seat. At that same table was this actor who thought that the half-German actress took the seat of his girlfriend.

Without noticing that there was still another vacant seat at that table allotted for his girlfriend, this actor called the attention of a road manager and instructed him to inform the half-German actress to leave the table. The actor even gave the half-German actress a bad stare while the road manager was talking to her. The actress felt offended with what she heard so she immediately left the ballroom in tears and returned to her hotel room.

Letter from a Reader: Problematic Group Coupon Site

Dear Fashion PULIS,

I would like to share my experience regarding this particular group coupon site with you and your readers. I started buying vouchers online last year and I never had any problems with regard to purchasing and using them. I buy group coupons from different sites and these sites normally send the vouchers for you to print out in your account as soon as you have deposited the payment.

Recently, I had a problem with this one particular group site. A friend of mine asked me to get her ACE WATER SPA vouchers since I am a member of this site. My friend paid for the vouchers through bank deposit and I told her that we need to wait for the vouchers to be sent to my account. 

On that same day, I also purchased (4) FUN RANCH RIDE-ALL-YOU-CAN vouchers. I also sent my payment through bank deposit. After the payment has been made, I informed the site and asked for my vouchers. It has been almost 2 weeks and I still haven’t received any vouchers from them. I do regular follow-ups on their Facebook account and even sent numerous emails but no one from the site bothered to give a reply.

Yesterday morning, I sent another email to them to ask for my vouchers. I even mentioned that I called DTI already about my complaint regarding their poor service. I also mentioned that they should stop enticing customers with their so-called great deals when in fact they can’t even send us the vouchers that we have paid for. In the event that they are having problems with the said merchants, why don't they update us or send us a refund instead?

A voucher’s validity is usually up to 3 months only and I have already wasted almost a week while waiting for my vouchers to be sent to me. I hope you can share my experience with your readers FP.  Thank you for sharing my story so that your readers can be cautious next time if they intend to purchase group coupons from these sites.

Letter from a Reader: Traumatic Online Shoe Shopping Experience

Dear Fashion Pulis,

I would like to share my bad experience with you and your readers regarding an online shopping vendor in Facebook. The vendor’s name is HOHH run by Miss RL. 

Last week I inquired about a pair of shoes that I really liked and so I reserved a pair in my size. Friday (August 19, 2011) came and I was supposed to deposit the money in her account before she ships the goods but I wanted to get a hold of the shoes right away so I inquired if I may just send someone to pick it up and give her the payment personally. She agreed without hesitation so at about 5:30 pm last Friday, I asked my staff to bring the payment to Miss RL's condo somewhere in Roxas Boulevard and to pick up the shoes that I ordered from the lobby of the condo. I was so excited when my staff came back. I wasted no time and opened the package right away. To my dismay, the right pair was damaged, and this was the start of my nightmare with this shoe vendor.

I called Miss RL right away to inform her that I received a defective pair and if she can kindly replace it. She said that she double checks all items and that it was not damaged when she left it with the guard at the lobby of her condo. I said that my staff did not open the package when he got it because it was sealed and I only opened it when 30 minutes after I received the package. I opened it in front of my staff and we both noticed the discoloration of the right pair. Miss RL then instructed me to just return the shoes and that she will look at it first. I requested her to just replace it with another pair and I will send the damaged pair right away.

When my staff arrived at her place, she took the shoes and instructed my staff to just go back for the shoes the following day. She did not replace nor hand my staff back the payment. I specifically asked my staff to have the damaged pair replaced or just get the payment back. Since she didn’t give the payment back and asked us to just come back for the shoes the following day with no receipt or proof of claim I decided to call her again and requested her to return the payment instead because it is already causing too much trouble on my end. Since she would not replace it right away, she agreed that she will just give the money back to my staff.

After more than 30 minutes, I called my staff and he said that Miss RL still has not handed him the money yet. I called Miss RL again to ask about the cause of delay and she irately replied, “Nire-repair pa namin yung shoes, hindi pwede madaliin.” I did not request her to repair it, I specifically requested her to replace it or just give back the payment. Why would I want to buy a defective pair of shoes? She decided to repair it without asking for my permission.

I called my staff again and told him to wait a little longer but not to accept the shoes if the right pair still looks damaged. All the while I was calling her for feedback but she would not answer my calls. When she finally answered my call, she told me “Tapos na” so I then answered “Salamat naman…” She dropped the call even before I could finish my sentence. 

After 15 minutes, I called my staff again asking him if he has the shoes. He told me that he has not received the shoes. I kept calling Miss RL's cell refused to answer my calls. A few more minutes later, she finally handed the shoes to my staff.

When my staff noticed that the damage was worse when Miss RL handed her the shoes, he told her “Ma’am ang sabi po ni Ms. Lisa huwag ko daw po tatanggapin kung damaged pa rin”. Miss RL abruptly told my staff “Basta ipakita mo muna yan sa amo mo no!” My staff informed me Miss RL was upset when he would not accept the shoes so she kept asking him “May problema ka ba? May problema ka yata e?” My staff so so scared so he replied “Mam, wala po” and left hurriedly.

The damaged part of the right shoe had worsen when I saw it so I messaged her on Facebook. I told her that I did not like her attitude and that she shouldn’t shortchange people. We exchanged text messages and she said in one of her text that I can choose from the other available styles. The problem was that was the only style I liked in her collection and now I am being forced to choose another style? Since she could not replace the defective pair with a new one, she should just offer to give back the payment. 

I have learned a valuable lesson from this horrible experience. I should have asked my staff to check the condition of the goods first before giving the payment. I was actually tempted to send her back the pair of damaged shoes without getting the payment back but I did not. How I wish I could throw the shoes back at her but even my staff refused to go back to her place because he was traumatized by Miss RL.

I am presently using the defective shoes that I bought from her. Why? It has become a conversational piece and I will not be tired of sharing my bad experience with the shoe vendor.

Thank you Fashion Pulis for allowing me to share this experience. I hope that this will serve as a lesson to all the people who love shopping online. Please be careful with the people you transact with. Also, do not hesitate to share your experiences to others so that they will not go through the same unpleasant experience.

It's now 1:23 am! A few minutes ago, two actors were spotted at Manila Peninsula's Salon di Ning fist fighting over a girl whose first name is like a native delicacy. One of the actors involved in the incident is a racer while the other one is mostly known for his independent films.

The network's Mr. M rushed to the scene but when he arrived, the racer was already brought to his hotel room by his friends.

Last Thursday morning, a Fashion PULIS reader spotted this sexy comedienne in East Hong Kong. She was billeted in the said hotel with this actor and grandson of a comedian who is around six years younger than she.

After receiving this information, I was able to confirm from a reliable source that this younger actor is truly head over heels in love with the comedienne. This guy liked her ever since but only decided to pursue her after she broke up with her politician-boyfriend.

Initially, the comedienne was very uncomfortable when this co-star was wooing her because they have known each other for years. Eventually, she ended up falling for him because of his persistence and sincerity.

This actor is so serious with her that he has formally introduced her as his girlfriend to his grandfather. She, on the other hand, told her friends one day when she was feeling emotional that she is thinking of marrying him next year.

Letter from a Reader: This Store's Computer is Bad at Math

 Dear Fashion PULIS,

I would like to share the experience of me and my bother that happened a few days ago in a toy store. I remember reading an article of your site regarding the inconsistent pricing from a certain supermarket. The same thing happened to us today and I just want to share this with all your readers. 

I received a text message from this toy store that they will be having a one day special sale. On top of the special sale, if you are a member of the store's loyalty program, you will get extra 10 percent discount. Since my niece's birthday is fast approaching, my brother and I decided to take advantage of this opportunity. 

My niece gave us a wish list from the said toy store and she even included the prices so it would be convenient to everyone. My brother choose 2 items, one was priced at 699.75 and the other at 1199.75. If you add the two items, the total amount will be 1899.50. If you less the 10% discount because of the special sale, it will be 1709.55 then less another 10% for being a member of the loyalty program, the final amount should be 1538.595. 

The funny but thing was I was confused when  the cash register final amount was 1589.88. I noticed that we were being charged 51.38 extra. We called the manager and I told him that " mahina yata sa Math ung IBM computer nyo." My brother has to explain the whole thing twice to the manager before he understood the complaint. 

We both kept our cool because we want to see how if it was really a computer error or human error. The manager tried it for 15-20 minutes but the same result came out so he said "i-manual na lng natin sir." 

Normally we just give our credit cards and let the lady at the cashier swipe it thinking that computers will not make an error in computation. I hope this will serve as a lesson to all your readers that they should also do their own computation. Now, I am not wondering why the store owners are getting so rich.

Give Me My Space!

Last July, after the concert of this Australian artist, some fans were gathered outside the venue hoping to have their pictures taken with their favorite celebrities. When Angel Locsin heard her fans calling her name, she willingly accommodated their requests. She enthusiastically had her photos taken with them and even asked some of them to show her the pictures. 

It was totally a different vibe for this television personality. When he was coming out of the venue, he ignored all his fans who were calling his name and requesting for a photo opportunity. Right before he got out of gate, there was this lady who ran up to him. While she was having her photos taken with him, he tried to sound funny by saying "Ate, tama na! Biliasan mo, walang bayad ito!" His handler pulled him away after that quick photo stop and blocked the other fans who were trying to approach him.

Miss Sabotage

One Sunday, this television host/singer was backstage with her fellow female performers getting ready for their song number. Out of the blue, she approached the others girls and suggested to them that they should all wear dresses in the same shade to make their number look more special.

The other girls agreed to her suggestion so they began going through their dresses to find a shade that is common in everyone's wardrobe. After agreeing on which shade to wear, the girls started getting ready for their number.

When the girls were about to leave their dressing rooms, they noticed that the host was missing. The next time they saw her was when they were already about to appear on stage. Much to their surprise, the host was wearing a dress in a shade that is different from everyone else's. She totally made the other girls look like her backup dancers on stage.

Dear Fashion PULIS,

I started watching this DJ's podcast when my husband asked me to watch one of his hilarious episodes with a rock star. I started following him on Twitter and I learned that he is giving away prizes for all his callers. According to him, every caller will get an MP3 Player from the sponsor, and the caller of the night will receive another major prize.

One time when I was listening online, I was trying to contact him thru Skype because I was very interested to ask the psychic guest about this certain paranormal activity that I have experienced. The assistant of the DJ ended up contacting me instead and I was able to speak to him and his guest. A few minutes later, my line got cut due to the bad internet connection.

Since the line was cut, I tried to contact his assistant again because I want to ask her how I can claim my MP3. She told me that someone will contact me anytime soon to give me the instructions. I was surprised that she did not bother asking for my personal details so I volunteered to them to her instead. 

A few days later, I decided to visit their Facebook account since no one got in touch with me regarding my prize. There, I was able to read several complaints from callers who have not received their prizes. There were also comments from some people who waited for weeks before they got their prizes.

After waiting for more than three weeks, I decided to send a message to the assistant and ask her about my MP3. I was shocked when she informed me that I can claim my 100 PhP worth of gift certificate from this certain techno hub in Eastwood. When I read her message I was dumbfounded so I said thank you and more power to their show since the assistant was very nice to me.

I was very disappointed when I heard that they were not giving me what they promised. I am not about to waste gas money to drive all the way to Eastwood to pick up the 100 PhP GC. I would have gone all the way to Eastwood though if they told me that the DJ will be there personally to give me the GC.

Before I end my letter I just want to make it clear that I sent this letter because I believe that the DJ is using false advertisement to attract people to view his podcasts. He and his assistants should be very clearly regarding the prizes that they really intend to give to the callers. 

I have nothing against the DJ. I am still a fan and I still love him.

Spoiled Blue Cheese?

The sour and salty taste of blue cheese makes it an acquired taste for people with tolerant palates. Its pungent smell is often enough reason for most people not to try it. People who are afraid to even taste this cheese are missing their chance to enjoy the extraordinary flavor of this misunderstood cheese.

Letter from a Reader: What are His Deeper Issues?

Dear Fashion Pulis,

I am an avid fan of Fashion PULIS since I found out about it. I make sure that I check it everyday to update myself with your celebrity blind items. Everyone I know is reading your blog. Now, let me share a blind item for you.

Who is this television host who recently badmouthed your blog on a television show? He said, “Walang kwenta naman ang Fashion Pulis na yan.” When this sore loser, sour graping guy broke up with a famous celebrity from another TV network, he also badmouthed her. Ironically, a few months later, he reunited with her after saying so many bad things about her.

What he said made me wonder if his podcasts or his radio programs have “kwenta”? He is the only male celebrity I know who makes “patol” all his enemies and claiming that he is just brave to confront them. So I say, “yeah right, that's very girly.” If he were really straight, I don’t think he will talk and answer back like a girl to all his detractors. No straight guy from the any network does that.

In my opinion, I think this guy is so “feeling.” Just because he can speak straight English doesn’t make him superior. The way he reacts to things proves that he is insecure about his looks and his height.

Before I end this blind item, I wish to dedicate a quote by Naomi Campbell to this guy, “Anger is a manifestation of a deeper issue... and that, for me, is based on insecurity, self-esteem and loneliness."

According to statistics, if a job applicant is chewing gum while he or she is being interviewed, it is almost a guarantee that he or she will not get the job. Public relations professionals would always advise their celebrity clients never to chew gum while being interviewed on television because this is considered rude, unattractive and disrespectful.

Last night, a Fashion PULIS reader was severely bothered when she caught this handsome actor on television chewing gum while being interviewed by a veteran host on his late night show. At one point, the camera even caught him sticking out his tongue while trying to blow a bubble with his gum. 

Yes, this actor might have halitosis but it still does not give him an excuse to use chewing gum to freshen his breath while being interviewed. His behavior on television last night was simply unacceptable.

Letter from a Reader: Please Don't Deprive Us!

Dear Fashion PULIS,

I'm an avid fan and it has been my habit to check your blog everyday. I also try to read the comments of other FP fanatics if I have the time. Your blog is very influential and I am writing you this letter hoping and praying that our appeal will be heard. 

Our appeal is regarding the Board of Nursing's memo that the July 2011 Nursing Board Exam Passers will not be having the traditional mass oath taking ceremony. This is very disappointing for me because I am one of the July NLE board exam passers and knowing that I will not be able to experience this tradition gives me a heavy heart. 

I believe that the Oath Taking Ceremony is a solemn event that should be experienced by new registered nurses because this is our time to make our parents proud by having them witness us taking the oath. This will also give them the feeling of fulfillment after all the hard work that they have gone through to send their children to the nursing schools. 

We (new RNs) are aware of the country's economic condition, and the scarcity of job opportunities but depriving us of this experience would not solve it. Having the experience of seeing our parents proud is priceless. Money can be earned until the day we die.

Kudos to Dubai-based Filipino Designer

For someone who started off by making dresses for his mother, Dubai-based Filipino designer Furne One has come a long way indeed.

With a celebrity roster that includes supermodel Heidi Klum, legendary actress Joan Collins and, most recently, three of pop's current biggest names — Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry — his is every designer's dream client list. But that's only if you consider dressing celebrities the ultimate career high. One (pronounced on-ay) has been making his dream-like couture dresses, all sequins, glitter and all, for highly-placed Arab clients and royals for the past 12 years.

The soft-spoken designer puts his current successful celebrity run down to a lot of hard work, and some luck.

"I have been working with Heidi for Germany's Next Top Model for about four seasons now, designing for the finalists," he tells tabloid!.

His son does not like her so he has been avoiding her ever since his son came to visit. She, on the other hand, is still desperately in love with him. Despite the fact that he has been avoiding her, she went to one of his shoots unannounced to catch a glimpse of him. This is how much she misses him.

When the cameras stopped rolling, the production team was surprised that he did not even mind her. Instead of entertaining her, he pretended that she did not exist. While he was goofing around with one of the production staff members, she went in front of him, yelled "Happy anniversary" and left the scene abruptly.

Lately, she has been drinking a lot with her friends to ease her pain. She is really head over heels in love with him but it seems like he will never be able to reciprocate her love. Do you guys have any advice for her?
