Bossing Her Way Around

Over the years, networks have built nobodies into somebodies. Some of the big performers had humble beginnings, and it was through hard work that they amassed fortune and fame. Once the talent is considered a big star, some close relatives start to act as though they are the talents themselves. They interfere and impose conditions, instead of remaining humble and amiable to the network staff. In short, these relatives become the nightmare of the production.

Sweet Performer (SP) and her kin is no exception. Since she returned to her network, SP has managed to create a lovable image in the eyes of her adoring fans and the public. SP has shown that she can act and even sing. Her name is synonymous to excellent returns at the box office as well as high ratings for TV dramas. The network adores her so much that she has been given the best projects so far. However, the network has once again developed an overbearing and overly protective kin (OO) that continuously meddles in the projects of SP.

In a shoot for an endorsement, OO made sure that her presence was felt in the production. During the shoot, OO kept asking at the camera angle from where SP will be taken. At one point, OO noticed that the skin of SP did not register well on screen. She further noted that the makeup was creating a poor image of SP. Worse, the skin of the partner of SP in the shoot was much better than the latter.  

As a result, the shoot was delayed, as they had to wait for the preferred makeup artist of OO to arrive. The head of the production (TH) was so mad at OO, who had the guts to decide what to do ahead of him. TH felt the lack of respect for him, as the person in charge of the shoot. Consequently, TH vowed never to work with SP again, especially if OO will be around.

Not Buying into Her Game

Three Top Talents of the network were slated to do a major production number for a flagship show of the network. Talent 1 (T1) is homegrown, Talent 2 (T2) is a returnee, and Talent 3 (T3) is a newbie of sorts. While T1 is already quite secure of her place in the network, T2 is showing signs of alleged insecurity at the entry of T3. Nonetheless, the three had to work together and loyal viewers of the said show are aware that all production numbers are done with quality. Faltering has no space, especially if caught on video and uploaded in social media.

While T3 is now more comfortable with T1 and T2 now, she suggested that their number should be raised to a higher level. As the three of them already have albums, which have earned awards and generated impressive sales, T3 suggested that they should sing live. After all, as legitimate singers, they should avoid lip-synching their songs.

Of course, T3 was confident that she could carry a tune. T1 sings live in her concerts and one time, when she made a small error, the audience loved her more. Alas, T2 had a very different attitude. As she was coming from a previous appearance and was very tired, she told T1 not to agree to the plan of T3. T2 reminded T1 that she was also coming from a similar stint, and that her voice might be affected. T2 did not stop there, as she further told T1 to tell the production not to adhere to T3. After all, T2 feared that the production might agree to the suggestion of T3.

Of course, what was deemed best for the three won, and the production did not dare risk getting the ire of the two bigger stars. Nonetheless, T2 got irritated at the way T3 was pushing herself and giving suggestions that could eventually affect their image.

The Road to Recovery?

When it comes to persistence, Eccentric Personality EP personifies it. Seems like the more EP  is wounded, the braver and bolder he gets. EP is unstoppable and notorious. He is controversial. In all aspects of his character, this battle-scarred personality is the epitome of courage, boldness and strength .

The roller-coaster ride of EP’s life and career has toughened him even more. People privy to EP have witnessed how eccentric he had become even more during his long hiatus. His temper dictated what the whole day would bring.

Despite the richness he is allegedly surrounded with, EP's critics are not likely to buy the idea that no strings are attached to it.They quip that they can only believe what is believable – no more, no less.

When EP finally clinched the deal with network, he was jubilant and couldn’t thank his benefactors enough who took a risk with him. Thus, the ball is in EP’s court to prove his worth that he can deliver.

But after watching several episodes, observers ask: Is it the end of the road for EP? Clearly, there was nothing encouraging to deserve the risk and excite advertisers. In fact, the opposite was achieved. Why?

Reportedly,  the bosses were disappointed with the pilot and succeeding episodes, nothing new, same old tricks. Rating was flat. Media buyers were not impressed that they are reportedly slowly pulling out. Is this the reason why in the following episodes, there was apparent lack of commercials?
