Pigging Out in the Dark

In a fashion event last week, a lifestyle columnist (LC) was seen digging into the salad while models were doing their catwalk on the ramp. In the dimly lit area of the tent, LC stood in front of the food table and bent over the main bowl of the salad greens. He was picking and dipping the leaves with his bare hands.

LC must have been so hungry that he forgot his plate, fork, and manners as well. Perhaps, the salad was so delicious that the socialite in him completely forgot people could see how distasteful he was in eating from the main salad bowl.

Do you know who this lifestyle columnist is? Please abide by the RULES in writing comments if you want me to post them. Initials and comments that are too explicit will not be accepted.

Let's Party (or Partee)!!!

After another successful night of partying, this club owner was on his way to have breakfast with some friends when he suddenly received a weird phone call at around five in the morning.  Since he was busy attending to something when his cellphone rang, a friend of his offered to answer the phone. The face of this friend turned white while he was speaking to the person on the other line so he hurriedly passed on the phone to the club owner. Before handing him the phone, he warned the club owner that the call is from a certain writer asking him for something. When the club owner answered the call, he was shocked to hear that the writer was calling him to ask if he can supply him party pills. Upset with the writer, the club owner abruptly replied “It’s five in the morning, why don’t you go to sleep!”  He was offended that the writer assumed that he carries this kind of pills since he owns a club. That's hasty generalization!

This morning I was ecstatic when I a saw comment added by chuvaness in my "Quits Na Tayo" post. Quits Na Tayo!!! (We're Even)

Cell phone roaming charges can be very expensive. Every time I am out for the country, my GLOBE bill for the month always increases drastically.  I remember one time when I was in Europe for 2 weeks, my bill sky rocketed to almost 20t Php.  That for me is a big deal because on the average my monthly bill never exceeds 5t Php.

If someone calls my roaming mobile, do I incur roaming charges even if I do not answer the call? I have been receiving contradictory answers.  Someone please enlighten me on the issue. I once called GLOBE's customer service hot line to ask about this and the answer I got was "No".  From then on, I avoided answering phone calls when I am overseas. Just being practical, I guess.

How about you? Do you answer/make calls when you are abroad?

The cell phone bill of a lifestyle writer accumulated to a six digit figure  I think he does not only answer/make calls when he is overseas.  My hunch is that he runs a cell phone marathon every time he travels. With such a big usage, the management of this telecommunications company should be treating him like royalty.  However, in this case, he was not.  He was actually being contacted by the company's collection department because he refused to pay for the bill.

After months of not settling his outstanding bill, the media department of this company invited him for a dialogue. In the meeting, he proposed to publish several press releases in exchange of his unpaid bill.  Since the company wants to maintain a good relationship with this writer, the company had no other choice but to accept his offer.

Guys, do you seriously need a clue?  T.Y. for all your support!!!
