As most child stars realize later in their adult life, the proper handling of their earnings can make a difference in their future. In local showbiz, parents usually handle the earnings of their celebrity child. For instance, one of the most celebrated child stars in cinema is now enjoying the rewards of the smart investment of his father. These investments have assured the comfortable life of the former child star now that he is no longer active in the business.

Sadly, not all parents have been wise as to where they place the earnings of their celebrity children. When this Comedian Singer (CS) was starting out, her parent was adamant in establishing himself as her manager. As the years passed, the parent and CS would proudly show the public where her money went. Both earned praises for being smart with the money as these investments in businesses and properties would assure CS of a good life when her career will no longer be as hot.

After a series of movements, the popularity of CS dwindled. Though still a competent performer, her movies and appearances were no longer as many. Nonetheless, CS pursued her career by trying out various roles in her network, and her happiness by settling down and beginning her family. As the time came to reap her share in the investments, people in her circle were surprised to find out that these investments were not placed under her name. Hence, CS could not just do as she pleases with the investments that came from her earnings.

With barely enough savings for her own stature, CS has decided to be cool about this predicament. Instead of creating a legal matter out of the situation, which might rock the boat, she believes that everything will be settled in due time and she will be able to get her fair share in the future. This stance of CS indicates that despite potential monetary problems, she values family relations above all else.

A Quiet Rejection

Gracing the cover and the pages of this men’s magazine brings prestige to the females who have agreed to show off their bodies. For some models and actresses who are just starting out, a feature in this magazine usually generates interest in their budding careers. Moreover, when seasoned actresses are highlighted in this magazine, curiosity and loyalty increase the magazine’s circulation. Hence, this magazine is always on a lookout for possible subjects who can be featured in their pages.

When pictures of a singer actress (SA) showed her having a fuller body, netizens noticed that she had some enhancements in her frontal features. This new asset was not something shocking, as SA has been known to have undergone several enhancements to improve her looks. SA allegedly decided to have the enhancement as her birthday gift.

To celebrate her new look, the camp of SA thought it would be a good idea to have her featured in the men’s magazine. The men’s magazine agreed to have some test shots to see if SA can meet the standards. After the team reviewed the test shoots, they decided not to pursue the feature on SA. According to them, despite the bigger assets of SA as well as her new set of teeth, SA just does not have the sex appeal, which is vital to all the females featured in the men’s magazine.

Perhaps a feature in this men’s magazine could have stirred renewed interest in the career of SA. After all, reinventing the image of a performer is key to remaining in showbusiness. While SA is seen in one show in her network, there is no news if she will be starring in another movie or a sitcom. Her launching movie was not a blockbuster, and thus, she had to play supporting roles after. Although, her sitcom was not well received, it lasted for a few months, and critics felt SA lacked acting skills.

With the lack of interest of the men’s magazine, will the camp of SA approach another men’s magazine? More importantly, will fans appreciate the sexy image that SA is slowly moving into?

Spare Some Change for Her Concert

A few years ago, once famous singer (OF) could sell her concerts quickly and at the proper price. While everything was positive then, OF was already being warned about the possible outcome of her young career. Her career and fame led to a better life for her family. OF was able to acquire property and other measures of wealth. However, OF got tired of pretending and quietly lived the way she wanted to be.

Despite warnings, OF dropped her feminine image, and decided to come clean about herself to the detriment of her family. Instead of getting sympathy from her parents, OF got the opposite. Her relatives expressed dismay over her chosen lifestyle, and the media hounded her family to broadcast their sentiments. The public was not kind, either. OF was subjected to ridicule and her fashion statement became the focus of jokes. OF was the compared with another singer who had earlier admitted to her sexuality, and they even had a concert together, which was not as successful as projected.

OF was stubborn. Instead of heeding her elders, who seemed to be protecting their own interests, OF stood her ground and stayed with the person she chose to love. OF challenged the norms, and by doing so resulted in a waning of interest in her career.

While things might not be as lucrative in the local scene, OF still has the international market, which she could take advantage. OF is scheduled to have a concert abroad, but the tickets are not selling as expected. Hence, the producers are selling the tickets in bulk, which translates to a very low price or even just change, for an individual ticket. Even OF has to sell her tickets personally. Well, OF has to work double as she has a partner to support and still some family members who depend on her. However, even if OF might not be financially viable as a performer as she was before, she is still being recognized as a respectable talent in the Filipino community abroad. In a few months, she will be performing with other international Filipino artists in a fund-raising concert for typhoon victims.

Will OF be able to salvage the dwindling interest in her career as she did have a good start in the international music scene? Will she be able to do it or will she be dismissed as a hasbeen even before she turns 30?

The Pick of the Season

The appeal of Good-looking Singer GS caters to general audience and to the straights and gays alike. GS looks wholesome, reserved and clean cut. Physically, he looks like someone that a girl would take home to mommy.

However, some gay rumors attributed to him have been persistent to this day. Expectedly, nothing has been confirmed from GS’ camp. For years, he had succeeded in evading the sensitive issue of his preference. It helped that he is a quiet guy and had no known enemies who would want to nail him down.

But somehow, rumors like these were doused off when GS had a relationship with a Hot Celebrity HC which kind of shocked his fans and showbiz followers. His sudden but brief affair with HC had sparked ugly rumors once more that GS was just trying to divert the public’s assumption from his real persona.

At a just-concluded reality search of his network, GS took a liking at one of the Show’s Finalists SF who stood out for his singing prowess and extremely good looks. When the television search ended, SF being a finalist got to have some regular appearances on the network’s special variety show.

Prior to the rehearsals for the show that weekday, GS reportedly took the opportunity to engage SF to a private tutorial – in GS’ house of course. GS was allegedly so smitten by SF that he started doing the tutorial regularly at his home.

Everytime the said tutorial was done at his home, GS would make sure that SF would feel really special and cared for. How? GS would reportedly have the food specially catered for them and that SF would be picked up and delivered home only by GS driver.

Clearly, if that is not special enough, I don’t know what is.

Will GS and SF’s togetherness be for a long haul this time? As they say – only time will tell.

Can Not Break It Gently

In the beginning, many thought that the relationship between Playful Celebrity PC and Talented Singer TS was one for keeps. Their friends in and out of showbiz witnessed how almost perfect the couple’s commitment was. PC and TS looked good together, with PC getting some good points for being the ultimate gentleman.

Through the years, the relationship withstood the test of time, though it required supreme sacrifices for PC. In today’s generation, such an arrangement is almost nil. It can only take a lot of commitment for the man to make it work – especially for the likes of PC. But as some observers would claim - miracles do happen. Sure it did, but not for long.

And before cynics could even begin to say their piece, PC and TS soon headed to splitsville.

Their fans/followers did not see it coming, of course. But after the break-up sank in in the everyone’s consciousness, PC and allies were quick to the draw denying the existence of a 3rd party. But not long after, photos of PC with alleged Third Party TP in their many out-of-town sightings together soon became hot copies.

After all was said, seen and done, the rumor allegedly became the irreversible truth – that PC and TP are indeed a couple. Talks have it that PC’s weakness found solace in TP’s gullibility and adventurism. Their friendship soon developed into something else. Before long, everything just came into play.

Reportedly, TP’s wild side became the unwitting solution to PC’s yearning. Every chance they got, her antics during those private moments with PC blew his mind away - in great, lustful proportions. Times like this happening so often took its toll on TS and PC’s relationship. Certainly, one cannot love two people at the same time, with same intensity, for the same reason.

In this case, earthly desires overpowered whatever sound reason there was.

It Takes So Much To Respect a Paradoxical Character

A former Popular Singer PS was recently in town for some commitments. After years of being away from the country, her return was both a welcome one for her family and friends who were excited about her - but not so for people who were reportedly victimized by her.

It was alleged that PS got involved in a scam in some country she lived for years. The scam has so affected some “kababayans” that it alarmed some of her friends and fans back in the Philippines. However, PS was quick to defend herself saying that she was not guilty of the crime she was accused of.

When she got to the country, it was inevitable that she would get invites for television guestings, and some shows, too, including those with her Former Group FG who were only too glad to see her. Thus, PS and FG became busy with public appearances and their bonding was really awesome.

They became quite comfortable again working with each other. Too comfortable that PS allegedly took a loan from FG who felt uneasy about it, but who obliged nonetheless. FG’s being uneasy was valid and understandable. However, PS wasn’t content with just a loan and decided to take it a little further by asking FG to join her in her business. Joining PS business would mean that FG had to cough up a certain amount. It was at this point that FG refused vehemently.

Friends say that FG was just being very circumspect. Knowing PS and her alleged business background, it was not hard to imagine where FG ‘s refusal was coming from.

Her Graceless and Tacky Ways

As one of the busy talents in her network, Singer Emcee (SE) has been very visible these days. In other words, she has been swamped with so many commitments as a host, actress, and singer. As these activities demand much of her time, she has to decide which to prioritize.

The weekend demands much of the time of SE, and at one point, she could not attend the rehearsals for one of her weekly shows. Instead of cancelling her number, as she was unable to rehearse on her given schedule, she insisted on doing the number.

When she finally had the time to rehearse, she saw two other stunning actresses using the studio to practice their number. True to her form and divaesque attitude, she made the two leave. She told them they were already good dancers and that she had to run through her number. The two actresses had no choice but to adhere to the demand of SE.

Incidentally, are the overflowing commitments of SE a reason why she sometimes has lapses during her live show? At one time, she confidently said the wrong name of one of their guest despite the huge screen that correctly showed the name of the guest. It was good that this guest was witty enough to make the awkward situation into a comedy. Then, SE has been criticized for giving her opinion without really understanding the day’s issue.

Bawling Out His Mangled Feelings

When the singer commercial model (SC) gathered his close friends for his birthday celebration, they were so shocked when he broke down in front of them when they were drinking. SC got drunk, and started to pour out his deepest feelings. As it was his natal day celebration, his friends listened and comforted him as best as they could. Despite the time that has passed, SC was still frustrated and still in pain. His friends let him talk and they tried to understand him.

A few years ago, SC was linked to a gorgeous matinee idol (MI). Most women adored MI, as his looks and body were more than eye-candy. MI is a good actor and has won several awards to show for the landmark movies he had done. Thus, it was not a wonder that a network made MI one of their exclusive and prized talents. Despite his achievements and romantic angles with his leading ladies, rumors about him getting involved with other actors hounded him. One of these male performers happened to be SC.

Perhaps to let the rumor die, SC had to make a career move that made him and MI go on separate paths. Some viewed the transfer of SC as a way to diffuse the stories about his alleged romantic link with MI. Then, MI admitted that he had a thing going with a vivacious actress (VA). MI and VA looked good as a couple, but after a few months, their relationship ended with so much publicity that seemed to pressure MI to admit his alleged true self. While VA publicly broke down, MI remained silent.

When MI became the target of criticisms after the VA episode, SC was there to support him during this trying period. Thus, during his drunk crying spell with his friends, who were close friends with MI as well, he revealed that MI no longer texts, calls, or replies. Has MI deliberately erased SC from his list of friends? Why was SC so affected with the way MI seems to be ignoring him? Perhaps, SC should just forget MI. What do you think?

Not A Masterful Performance

Seasoned singer (SS) has always been known as a dazzling performer and has always been a crowd pleaser in his years as a performer. Having been in the business for so long, SS has had several hit songs that have been remade by various artists. Thus, it is of no question that SS can demand as much per song.

In one event, SS was invited to perform for the audience. First, SS was charging quite a hefty sum for only five songs. Second, other than his hefty fee, SS had specific requirements for his performance. He requested for a teleprompter and an earpiece to hear himself on stage. In short, the client adhered to his fee and his technical rider (requirements), which added extra production expenses that the client had to shoulder. During the contract signing, the client specified the five songs for SS to sing. The representative of SS agreed, and the contract was signed and sealed.

On the day of the event, SS did not perform any of the five songs the client requested. Worse, the audience noticed that SS did not sing live, and he just lip-synched his numbers. It is worth nothing that sometime ago, SS had an interview with a well-respected international female singer (IF), who expressed her strong opinion against singers who lip-synch and do not memorize lyrics. SS even expressed his agreement with IF on the matter.

Given his interview with IF, SS is such a disappointment for performing in this manner. Professional singers should adhere to their contracts and perform live each day that they have to go on stage. The audience expects and deserves more. They are no longer fooled by a singer who merely moves his lips to his own recording. What was SS thinking?

Act Out and Aim High

If Confused Singer’s drumbeaters and handlers DH are to be believed, CS has no gender problems as some people would like to believe. DH insists that CS is 100% woman, girl, mujer – bar none.

But how true are reports going around that CS is allegedly gay? Not a few articles online say she is indeed one. The NBSB (no boyfriend since birth) CS might be very expressive of her many showbiz crushes, especially of the ones she got paired with in her movies and teleserye – but except for one or two, those showbiz crushes of hers are not really taking her seriously.

The cynics will always have something to say. They contend that CS boyish movements alone are already leading. And her presumed crushes are all reportedly only for publicity to downplay the real issue. Yet, it shows that the public in unconvinced. There was in fact a report saying that she was allegedly frequenting a place somewhere up north to visit a “girl friend.” It was also something that bothered her handlers since the frequent visits to the north was affecting her schedules a lot.

That is why even reports of her many crushes and alleged holding hands with an attractive popular singer did not prosper because what sticks like glue in the public mind is her real sexual preference.

But those privy to her say that CS press releases regarding her fondness for the actors stars mentioned are all but gimmicks to play safe, very much like a career move to keep it from affecting her status in the biz, especially her coming up musical milestone. In a sense, CS and DH are quite careful not to jeopardize the network’s plans for her.

All told, unbelievers will have a lot of waiting to do - as no honest confession ala Charice is likely to happen anytime soon.

Charice Pempengco Wants to Record Duet with Sarah Geronimo

MANILA – Following her admission that she has a crush on Sarah Geronimo, singer Charice now expressed her desire to collaborate with the country's Pop star Princess.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Charice said it would be an honor if she and Geronimo could record a duet.

“Although we did a duet na po for how many times, it would be nice to have a collaboration with Ms. Sarah Geronimo. Since napakalaki niyang inspirasyon sa mga kabataan, sa mga tao, and since napakabait niyang tao, it would be an honor to collaborate with her,” she said.

Charice started his showbiz stint after she joined the talent competition “Little Big Star” in 2005, which was then hosted by Geronimo.

Currently working on her third local album, Charice said she is excited for her supporters to hear her new music because the songs represent the new her.

Charice came out as a lesbian on national television early last month.

“I’m excited kasi nung first day nga na nag-record ako, sabi ko sa sarili ko finally makakanta ko na 'yung mga songs na gusto ko. Itong album na ito, 'yung mga songs na paborito ko na may koneksyon din sa life ko. Not only sa buhay ko, pati na rin sa lahat ng mga tao. Very masa. I’m very excited,” she said.

Charice said the album titled “Chapter 10” will be released in the Philippines in September.

Meanwhile, the former “Glee” star revealed that she will soon be flying to the United States for other commitments.

“Talagang sobrang parang sinasagad na 'yung schedule sa Philippines so lahat ng shows pinagbibigyan. Pero very soon, babalik ako sa States para mag-attend ng events and to do photo shoots since when I came out, it was a huge news din po sa US. Very excited din po,” she said.

Charice said she is looking forward to visit the US again because it has been a while since she went there.

“I’ll be in the States for how many weeks but I will also be back in the Philippines to release the album. Excited ako bumalik sa States kasi medyo matagal ko nang hindi nakakasama and nakikita ang mga fans ko doon. Since I came out, medyo marami na rin akong napakita sa mga fans ko dito so parang it’s their turn naman,” she said.

Before returning to the Philippines in time for her album release, Charice said she will also stop by Germany to meet some of her fans there.

“Before I fly back here, pupunta din muna ako sa Germany for a private event. It will be my first time to go there so siguro magkakaroon din ako ng meet and greet para sa mga fans po doon,” she said.

Some Queer Maneuvers

Pretty songstress PS is a relative newcomer in the industry. Quite talented and seemingly naive, PS is so eager to prove herself. But most times, her over-eagerness seems like being too forward that turns off even her fans and co-stars. For a newbie, PS  was lucky to get paired with a big star BS in a movie, and soon after, her network gave her a follow up project opposite brawny actor BA.

Many observers say that PS and BA’s primetime gig wasn't received very well by TV audience partly because of PS' raw acting skills and her not-so-beautiful onscreen chemistry with BA. Yet it seems it had started a beautiful (and probably) secret closeness she now has with BA.

Sparks must have flown between BA and PS as sources say that BA regularly invites PS in his house for exercise and workouts together in his personal gym. Heard from the grapevine that those workouts allegedly often last till the wee hours of the morning.

In one of their workout sessions, a production staff came to pick them up when it was taking them too long to report for a show rehearsal. Guess what the staff saw when she got to the house: BA and PS were locked in a passionate kiss!

Nothing wrong with a kiss, but what's strange is that BA and PS are often strongly rumored to be gays. Well, apparently, the two of them flex not only their muscles, but also their gender. Hmm...

Amongst the slew of talented, beauteous singers of today, Young Balladeer YB is a definite stand-out. Coming from humble beginnings in a province down south, YB, with much determination and technique, has found his way into being a mainstream success not only in belting tunes but also in guest television spots and a handful of films. 

On the other hand, Hunky Actor HA, equipped with the goods and talent, inched his way slowly in the spotlight as a valuable addition to Philippine independent cinema. Although there have always been rumours on HA's sexuality, he has neither denied nor confirmed anything. Still, that doesn't prevent women and the inherently effeminate to be attracted to him. His is a personality that is full of silent mystery, yet his charming smile makes his own person interesting. 

There is some speculation that YB and HA have been seeing each other for quite a while. They had known each other for a long time, but it was only lately when sparks flew and since then, HA and YB have been inseparable. Although HA is constantly being linked to the creme de la creme of matinee idols in the industry, in reality, it is YB who is the grand champion in his heart.

Disgusting Shouting Match

High profile singer HS had once proclaimed for all the world to hear that she seriously wanted to be more independent and make major changes in her personal life. It was short of saying that she strongly desired for real transformation.

And true enough, little by little, the sight of HS in a number of her tv show guestings revealed a slight improvement from her conventional moves and outfits. Observers also noticed these in some of HS’ new tv commercials. What were once big no no’s has leveled up a bit into something fresh and cool.

As such, people were of the belief that her authoritative elder AE could have made some compromises with HS as a desperate measure, rather than lose HS completely. But some situations prove that this isn’t so.

HS is as busy as ever with her numerous projects – shows, concerts, endorsements. During tapings of her latest tv show, production staff and insiders are witnesses to HS and AE’s frequent arguments that often result in a shouting matches everytime.

Defiant AE seems not cut out to keep quiet completely and stop her endless meddling in HS’ every move. HS believes she should be the one in charge to personally decide on things that truly matter to her. The last shouting match between her and AE happened inside HS’ dressing room while she was being styled for the show. AE put her foot down on HS’ make-up and outfit preferences.

How Much Do I Love Thee?

Mother’s Day just passed with mothers all over the world generally ecstatic with the love and tributes showered on them by their children. One day in a year is when mothers feel special as loved ones bearing flowers and gifts take them out to celebrate - a day when mommies feel pampered and spoiled without the guilt. What can be more special?

But lest we forget – not all mothers are created equal.

On such special day, there are grieving mothers as well. Grieving because of the painful situations they are in and their personal circumstances with their loved ones, particularly their children.

Ertswhile singing phenomenon SP was the toast of the entertainment world. SP’s mother MO was her world, her greatest musical influence, the one who honed her talent that brought her to dizzying heights that no one thought was possible.

Until SP’s awakening came into the picture. Gradually, she started to question MO why things were the way they were. SP allegedly realized she was missing a lot and wanted to ‘explore’ the world on her own terms - much to MO’s shock and utter disgust.

Soon relationship between SP and MO grew apart as SP continued to rebel and made things difficult for MO whom she accused as very controlling. In the process, their situations got worse, further damaging both their personal and professional relations. SP’s career was the casualty.

SP’s “transformation” became her biggest issue with her family. She ditched her sweet image and in its place emerged an edgy, tattood look. Along with it, SP allegedly allowed herself to be influenced and used by the girls she got involved with which included one who previously worked for her. She also got involved with a fan that got MO very furious.

But the one SP is reportedly very serious about until now is a girl GI she met during a show. GI turned out to be a rival during SP’s amateur singing days. Their photos together attracted the public and had gone viral in no time. The affair has gone so deep that the two are allegedly living together now. Reportedly, SP succumbs to GI’s wishes and spoils her without limit, making daily big bank withdrawals as if there’s no tomorrow. The situation had alarmed MO that she allegedly went to the police to seek help – but this has yet to be confirmed.

Right now, talks are wild that SP is taking GI to the US to get married sometime this June. Looks like nothing and no one can stop the lovers who are so blissfully happy and content with each other. GI’s last tweet in February - H4M – also known as "happy 4th monthsary."

At present, both are reportedly hiding from their respective families. Indeed – what love can do…

Deal or No Deal

Prior to singer and host SH appearance in a variety show VS where she was to promote her finished project, SH’s  family member FM  laid out some requests  (conditions?)  to the production team PT of VS. It must be noted that SH is held in high esteem in the show, such that certain requests from FM are given importance as well. FM, despite her overbearing self usually gets  away with everything if only for the goodness of SH whom PT and others always take into consideration.

PT knew that certain FM’s requests were difficult to meet. For one, the appearance of SH in VS  would coincide with the network’s  prized actor PA’s  personal celebration that day. Everyone knew that SH and PA are not exactly on friendly terms. Add to that, SH also had issue with a controversial star CS that was believed to be already settled. But FM was still not into her, so she, too, had to go. Those were quite tough for PT.  However, PT tried its best to please FM if only for SH. So what were the conditions? Here you go:

Request #1 – SH should have her own solo dressing room

Request #2 – SH’s and PA’s numbers should have a big gap, as in far apart from each other. Definitely SH would come later than PA.

Request #3 – Controversial Star CS would not be present on that day. CS was eventually assigned to do a provincial show.  

Requests like these cannot be over-emphasized, yet PT did them just the same, owing to the fact that SH is a valued and major star. It really takes a lot sometimes to deal with the terms of SH in general, and to FM in particular. Yet, the one and only consolation for VS and PT: SH is the piece de resistance. Bar none.

Young and Confused

Talented singer and host SH who won in the reality singing search has been questioned often about her preferences. There’s some valid points ‘though for the doubters because for the longest time, SH did not properly address the issue. And most often, whether it was deliberate or not, SH tries to fan the rumor even more by trying to look the part.

To be fair to SH, she has always been professional in all her dealings and never for once been a headache to any production in any of her projects. Although there will always be the attendant rumors in between, SH is able to rise above it all, and both fans and followers respect her for who she is and isn’t, if you get the drift. Still no matter what, anyone who joins showbiz will never be spared from the glass house that is gossip mill.

At a musical event, SH shared a dressing room with one pedigreed newbie PB in the music industry. Like SH, the pretty and talented PB was at the event to perform a number. She arrived quite early, so while waiting for the program to start, PB killed time somewhere with friends. When informed that the show was about to start, she came back to the dressing room – and right there, she got the shock of her life! PB saw SH and her female assistant PA in a tight embrace kissing each other.

Obviously, that shock was PB’s baptism of showbiz fire. In this case, will it be a shock if SH will honestly profess who and what she really is? Either way, malicious minds will go rampaging once more.

Anticipated Ending of a Soap

The cast was considered too brave for an afternoon soap (AS), but the network believed the singer and the two hunks could pull off the project. At the start, there was too much interest  because Hunk 1 (H1) is so fresh from the overwhelming success of his last soap. Second, Hunk 2 (H2) who was missed by fans is finally in a project. Third, the singer (TS) was exploring other avenues to help sustain her exposure and fame. Of course, the promo plugs were catchy (with the hunks showing off their abs) and interesting as well.

A few months into the airing, it seems that advertisers were not too keen on AS. Although the actors did their best, TS had a hard time projecting the right emotions. In other words, TS was not too great in the acting department, and did not register well on screen. Chemistry among the leads was amiss, too.

AS was then moved to another timeslot to give way to another soap. Immediately, the ratings dropped, which surprised everyone. Currently, AS is swinging from one- to two-digit ratings. Meanwhile, there are talks that a new soap, which was originally meant for primetime, might replace AS soon. Will TS be given another acting project or should the network enrol her first in more workshops to hone her talent further before giving her another?

His Big Clamor

Singer and Actor SA is a network's NE homegrown talent. SA’s singing career began years ago when he joined NE’s reality singing contest. It was while under the stewardship of NE that SA’s career bloomed in no time and his name reached star status among his many talented colleagues.

SA is a very ambitious lot, never resting on his laurels, quite unstoppable in his passionate pursuits . Year after year, he offered something new and different - - and exceled at it. His was an upward trajectory and it was a foregone conclusion that he would make it big sooner than expected – and he did just that. Thus, SA became one of NE’s bankable talents.

There are also some talented stars who have various talents, but end up spreading themselves too thinly – as in jack of all trades, master of none. But to his credit, SA was able to prove himself otherwise. Thanks to the kind of nurturing and able handling he got from NE.

But presently, talks are ripe that after years of being under NE's wing, SA is not bent on renewing his contract anymore, and will fly to NE’s rival camp RC. According to a source, SA clamored for more opportunities and no-nonsense projects and expressed this desire to NE. But SA got a thumbs down - having its hands full, NE could only do so much.

Some observers think that SA’s actions are bordering on conceit aka over-appreciation of oneself. Some say he feels so burnout being with NE for so long, sometimes even thinking that he might be falling form NE's grace amidst the crowd of talents that it is handling. But some insiders believe that it might also be due to SA's feeling of having to endure the limited breaks from NE when the grass he was promised in RC is much greener.

Has SA's fame gotten toxic? Or is it an urgent career move? Professional growth?

Quaint Payment Scheme

Beautiful actress (BA) had it all for many years -- fame, money, tv shows, movies, and the lots of connections. She had a contract with a network that assured her of the exposure and shows that kept everything going for her. Stories of her love life proliferated with the mysterious men of all kinds in her life. Foreigners, prominent politicians, fellow actors -- she had them all. The most colorful of these love interests was talented performer (TP).

When BA and TP came out as a couple, kibitzers immediately dismissed their supposed relationship as a farce. TP was said to be vainer than BA. At the same time, BA was also allegedly involved with a scion of a powerful political family then. Thus, the publicized relationship with TP was just a shield and a form of damage control to save their respective careers.

Now, BA is working doubly hard, often hopping from one channel to another to get much-needed projects. She needed every peso to sustain and maintain the kind of lifestyle she was used to, which is quite unattainable at this point. Undoubtedly, she is no longer as hot and in-demand as she was years back.

A few weeks ago, BA and TP bumped into a show where both of them were guests. Suddenly, BA remembered that she owes TP a few hundred thousand pesos. Before TP could even say anything, BA, in her usual bubbly manner, blurted out tactlessly in front of everyone, “Hey, can I just pay you sometime? Or we can just "make out" in exchange for it, you know?” Those who heard her laughed at her brashness, as they all knew of stories of TP's not-so-secret preferences.

However, there is more to TP than his rumored preference. Unknown to many, TP had lots of "energy" when he and BA were still together, as in they would really make effort to make time for it no matter how busy they were. But that was years ago. Will TP now bite into BA's proposal to do barter? Passionate service in exchange for hard, cold cash? You bet?
