As per Mayo Clinic: "Kawasaki disease is often treatable. With early treatment, most children get better and have no long-lasting problems."

Treatable siya yes pero very expensive and the timing is very important. Kahit may pambayad ka if it was mistaken for another condition, which is very likely at times, (high fever red lips and eyes common presenting symptoms) pwede mag ka coronary problem kahit may pang gamot ka.
I’m sorry to hear that. I have taken care of kids that has Kawasaki disease. It is painful and scary. Time is essential in treating the illness. I am glad that Maddie is getting treatment now.
My daughter had kawasaki when she was 18 months old. I’m glad her pediatrician found out soon kaya naagapan with no complications. She’s turning 17 na next month.🙏🏼
My son had that when he was 13yo, di sya common sa US at usually asian kids daw ang nagkakaroon nyan up to 5yrs old. It needs to be treated within 10days or else mas grabe ang complications. So my son has fever and rashes na di man lang nya sinasabi sa amin and who knows gaano na katagal. He said he feels fine daw pero dinala pa din namin sya sa walk in clinic and they gave him antibiotics for colds. The fever and rashes didn't go away so dinala na namin sya sa children's hospital where they said its appendicitis daw? more testing done and they concluded its kawasaki...he was given a shot and sent home. The fever stays so back to the hospital. They sent us to bigger farther hospital where he stayed for a month and end up with aneurysm for life. He is now 22yo with aneurysm and has to go his cardiologist every 6months for checking and testing.

Deleteang akala ko naman, what 10:53 meant was, she was asking if said disease was related to one’s motor skills.

ReplyDeleteThis is is treatable but needed monitoring of a cardiologist to find out if the heart is damage.recovery is between 6-8 weeks time.
ReplyDeleteI had a 5 year old patient who died of the same illness. Too bad huli na diagnose. Hindi agad naagapan ng IVIG
DeleteThank God nalampsan ng daughter ko yan. Time is realli important kc kung hindi affected heart nya
ReplyDeleteGet well soon baby girl. This is often misdiagnosed as some symptoms are similar other less risky diseases. Glad Maddie is recovering now.
