Nakakatakot talaga magkasakit. Kung siya namamahalan sa medical cost, imagine the ordinary working citizens who are often underpaid. Glad his condition was quickly treated.
Med student here, if I'm not mistaken meron pong sort of test (Skin prick test, blood tests) sa screen prick po ay parang may onting sample ng substance na itutusok na onti sa skin di naman malalim, then titignan if may reaction na mangyayari after few minutes, di lang ako familiar sa isa which is blood test (sorry still studying pa hehehehe)
Napakahirap may allergies same ng mga anak ko di na natapos yung sipon kaya every 2 months linis ng aircon at may stock ng antihistamine kami kasi bago matulog di na makahinga sa sobra bara ng ilong.
-I'm not a basher huh pero kamusta na yung kaso nya na 1B?
This happened to me a few years ago. I didn't know I have allergy sa fish, since a child kumakain naman ako then bigla na lang after eating namula ako then di na makahinga and was rushed to the ER. Akala ko it's a one-time allergy thing baka sira lang yung fish etc... but nope from that time I was allergic na and I can't eat any fish until now and if other seafood naman nagkaka rashes na ko. According to my doctor it can happen na wala kang allergy before then suddenly magkaron ka na ng allergy/food intolerance.
Very scary ang may allergy. My son has severe nut allergy. Lagi akong may epi pen na dela. Every 6 months din yung allergy test nya. The most recent one, nadagdagan nanaman ng crustaceans. Kaya nakakatakot iuwi sa pinas, walang warning yung mga menu kung gumamit sila ng nuts or may nut content yung food. Pag naman tinanong mo yung waiter, di rin nila alam. Fee months ago, we tried a Filipino resto in Long Beach, they used peanuts pala sa bbq sauce nila, wala man nakasulat sa menu na may nut content. Pinakain ko as usual, after 3 min nag iba na kulay nya and he asked me if I gave him any nuts, wala akong ka alam alam na may nuts yung sauce nung ihaw ihaw. Nung tinawagan namen di rin alam nung sumagot. Buti we live close by sa hospital and may epi pen. The next day kinausap ko yung owner, meron nga daw nut yung bbq sauce nila yun yung main ingredient. Nakakatakot. Kaya pag filipino resto kame kumakain, di na namen sinasama or pinapakain kung to go order.

ReplyDeleteGet an epi pen and bring it wherever you go.
