Margarita Forés was found unresponsive this morning inside her Hong Kong hotel room. She was on her way home from a trip to Morocco to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
It has been confirmed by her family that she has passed. She would have been 66 this year.
ay rest in peace Margarita Fores.
Delete2:53 nung last year ata, namatay mom nya? She shared private stories like staying in Four Seasons ata in Paris for a month with her mom, dun ako napa search, wow legit Alta pala… napaka simple lang kasi nya…I always look forward to her stories kasi ang gaan at sarap ng mga stories nya
DeleteOh why
ReplyDeleteWhat? Oh my goodness! Gone too soon! May she rest in peace. Nakakalungkot naman.
ReplyDeleteNakakagulat naman 'to! Nakakalungkot!
ReplyDeleteWhat a loss. RIP.
ReplyDeleteRest in peace Ma’am🙏
DeleteShe was a two-time cancer survivor :( and now this. Gone too soon. RIP.
ReplyDeleteShe just posted an ig story yesterday.. in hongkong.. tapos biglang ganyan .. its shocking.. may her soul rest in peace🕊️
ReplyDeleteYes I saw nga, ano kaya nangyari? Huhu may she rest in peace
DeleteIts a mystery kasi maski family niya nag post na unexpected yang pagkamatay niya.
DeleteUnexpected but not necessarily mystery. Sus. Pinyo talaga mahilig sa kwentong barbero. Malamang nakita na unresponsive tumawag ng first aid medic at nabigyan yan ng CPR o dinala sa hospital sa Hong Kong
DeleteIf biglang hinimatay baka aneurism
DeleteShe missed her lunch meeting only to find out she was unconscious na in her hotel room in hongkong.
ReplyDeleteA true legend who leveled up the Filipino’s resto industry. Just last Sunday we dined in at one of their restos, truly shocking!
ReplyDeleteMy fave naman is her son’s resto A Mano.
DeleteOmg winelcome pa nya si gordon ramsay kelan lang.🙏
ReplyDeleteShe found dead in her hotel room in Hongkong 😪🙏
ReplyDeleteYung owner ng Fila Phils agad naalala ko nung sinabing found dead in her hotel room. Kasi gone too soon din yun si Maam Chris Albert. Found dead in her hotel room in Singapore. Tomorrow is NOT promised talaga.
DeleteAbout chris albert, being found unresponsive in her hotel room was not what i read.
DeleteJust saw her IG stories from yesterday??!!!! What happened!!????
ReplyDeleteI just saw her billboard yesterday (CIBO) one of my favorite restaurants 😟 RIP Chef
ReplyDeleteWhat?!
ReplyDeleteShe was also a Cancer survivor.
ReplyDeleteGone too soon.
Hope the cause of her death will be known soon.
R I P, Chef! 🧑🍳
Fondest memory of Chef Gaita was at Lusso. My friend and I are browsing the menu and are clueless on what to order since the menu was totally new to us first-timers. She approached our table (i guess she saw us helpless) and explained in a very professional, friendly and discreet way the menu. then she asked what our cravings are that day and pointed those that would match our appetite. That is gold standard service, people.
ReplyDeleteYou’re lucky. What a nice experience that was! She is truly the gold standard.
DeleteMissed her lunch meeting daw in HK, then, when checked, was found dead in her hotel room. Baka inatake or na stroke. So SAD. Rest in Peaxe Mam! We'll surely miss u.
ReplyDeleteHayyy kaya takot na ako magtravel magisa. May nararamdaman kang anxiety and stress, being alone is not a good idea.
DeleteOo nga kasi even her family was shocked at the news.
DeleteYung may ari din ng Fila Phils dba found dead in her hotel room in Singapore naman nung 2022. Tapos si Madam Zeny Tantoco of Rustans died in her sleep din nung 2023. Nakakalungkot na nakakagulat, gone to soon.
DeleteAww. RIP po. Love CIBO btw.
ReplyDeleteSo sad —— the Batchoy by Margarita Fores at Ramen Ron is the best Batchoy here in Manila — as an Ilonggo, I have been a fan.
ReplyDeleteOmggg chef gaita! Nakakasad naman 😔
ReplyDeleteThank you, Chef, for teaching us that simple and fresh is best. Cibo changed the way people dined.
ReplyDeleteRIP to one of the best chef in the Ph! Sobrang humble pa niya and generous to all her staff.
ReplyDeleteWe lost a good one. National treasure si chef. One of a kind. Rest in peace ma’am.
ReplyDeleteGiven magaling si Ms Gaita pero sorry paanong naging National Treasure e foreign food naman pinopromote nya, more specifically French-Italian food. Italian in her past life nga daw sya sabi nya sa IG bio nya.
Delete10:14 eh di international treasure, Dami dada. National treasure is applied to individuals who made and still making a difference in their field of expertise as a Filipino. There are Filipinos who are making a difference abroad as artists, Filipinos whose researches impacted their fields, etc. and they are national treasures in. that sense. Dami mong satiate, kulang ka naman sa logic. Ikea? treasure na data nakabaon?
DeleteShe is a kindhearted and good human being. Gone too soon. RIP Gaita.🙏
ReplyDeleteMaybe heart attack
ReplyDeleteYes maybe kasi biglaan.
DeleteI'm so sorry. May her soul rest in peace.🙏🏼
ReplyDeleteRest In Peace
ReplyDeleteProbably she had a heart attack. Nakakalungkot grabe for her family. Na kahapon kausap lang and the day after wala na.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow is never promised.
DeleteJust saw her Tatler cover this month with her son Amado. How sad. Rest in peace
ReplyDeleteNaging parang tribute na tuloy yung Feb Tatler cover na yun.
DeleteFirst time ko lang kumain kanina sa Cibo and was just reading her history sa menu and now this. Nakakagulat.
ReplyDeleteShe was full of life every time she speaks. Tipong mahahawa ka ng good vibes sa kanya. RIP
ReplyDeleteBaka flu yan uso sakit ngayon
ReplyDeleteI’m so shocked! May IG story pa sya.
ReplyDeleteOmg, Im TOTALLY SHOCKED and VERY SAD! She was young! What is the cause? I find it odd and suspicious. She will be so missed by many
ReplyDeleteSudden pala. This is so sad. Kasama lang nya si Gourdon last time sa Cubao :(
ReplyDelete8:25 same..katakot mgtravel alone..May her soul rest in peace..kakasad.
ReplyDeleteRest in peace. Truly an icon. She hosted Gordon Ramsey pa sa Farmers market ng mga Araneta. Sad.
ReplyDelete🙏🏻
ReplyDeleteMy son loves pasta because of her. RIP Margarita Forés.
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of her food. Super! Last Nov, nakasabay namin siya sa flight going to HK pero mukhang connecting lng siya that time. Anyway, nagkatinginan kami sa eyes at muntik ko ng sabihin na "I am a fan of your dishes" kaso ayaw ko umepal sa loob ng plane since maraming maabalang pasahero at natakot ako baka tarayan ako. Haha! But I wish I did! RIP Madam
ReplyDeleteNapakasimple at humble nya kahit na ang Mom nya is the one of the most Sosyal at kilang kila kahit sa abroad(Baby Araneta). R.I.P Ms Margarita Araneta Forés ♠️
ReplyDeleteWhen i travel to the province i always ask my neybor/friend to accompany me because i dont feel safe alone now that i am of age.
ReplyDeleteI love their Cibo menu. I dined in there w/ my barkada along time ago. Best one from Chef Fores. RIP 🥺
ReplyDeleterip po.
ReplyDeleteSad day.
ReplyDeleteSo sad. My kids love all her restos. Very down to earth person. Truly an icon. Great loss for the Philippines and the culinary world.
ReplyDeleteAy cousin ba sila ni Mar Roxas?
ReplyDeleteI have not been to Cibo, would you believe, or Grace Park or Lusso pero buti na lang na experience kong mag dine sa Loggia sa Palacio de Memoria
ReplyDeleteGrabe sobrang biglaan :( Ang laking pressure na din sa anak nya na si Amado (of Ramen Ron and A Mano) kase lumaki ung responsibilidad nya
ReplyDelete
