What is so wrong about setting proper work hours, employee rest areas and health workers/first aid responders?! Di ba mas may lakas at bibo ang mga tao pag nakatulog sila ng maayos at nagspend ng time woth families and friends?
No Direk, the old ways of exploiting people for the sake of art is over. Look at the best artists elsewhere and you'll realize that they also set boundaries. Eminem is famous for treating his recording sessions as a 9-5 job. Kaia Gerber can only model until 11pm. Get on with the new world order.
Creativity grows in a safe, trusting and fair environment.
Lol as if naman maibabalik niyo ang mga tao sa sinehan tas ganyan pa attitude mo. Kahit nga MMFF hindi rin kumita last year. Naabot ang quota, yes. Pero dahil sa 1 film lang yon.
Yung law named after one of their own, Eddie Garcia no less, to protect artistas and people in the showbiz industry.
Ha ha ha... penoys... really... i can not anymore :D :D :D You wanted changes, clamoured for a bill, bill passed, then itatapon lang pala :) :) :) And that is why penas will forever be a 3rd world country ;) ;) ;)
4:48 Even if some people are willing, that doesn't make it right. Kailangang baguhin na ang lumang sistema, whether we like it or not. Even Japanese people, who are known to work long hours, are slowly changing that work style. Work-life balance.
To meet your demands?
I remember nung nagkorea si melay, puring puri nia ung bilis magtrabaho ng mga korean staff, at kapag cut off na, cut off na. Wrap up na for the day kesyo may di natapos or what.
Well coordinated.
It all boils down to humane treatment, and lawful working conditions. It is ironic that some anti-EGL people want changes in the government or society, but are hesitant to comply with the EGL that aims to improve the industry.
Nakalimutan nya ba nung covid? Na realize ng marami na there's more to life than work. Mas pinahahalagahan na ng mga tao ngayon ang oras with Family and ang self care. Directors like this maybe need to change and REORGANIZE. Even with such passion for the arts, maging maka tao.
Why is making films like going to war?!
To all the commenters here, basa ng maayos, hindi niya sinabing to violate the EGL, yan yung basis ng work nila, but maging efficient dapat within those limit.
Kinakain ng travel time ang max number of hours to shoot. Magastos magbook ng place to stay. Kaya they end up finding a place nearby to shoot (kahit di gaanong angkop sa scene) or resort to green screen na lang.
In any organisation, if you have the right talent, management and organisational skills, and professionalism, you can deliver a quality product. Maybe, people in the entertainment industry need to up-skill to better implement EGL, and that includes even acting workshops. To be frank, I watched high-grossed, highly recommended, and award winning films and most of the time, I end up disappointed. People here who have been watching K-dramas will understand why they are a hit. People in PH entertainment industry can learn a thing or two from them.
So they want to break the law

Parang may threat pa sia. Paano kaya kapag mabaliktad sia. Na actors start to reject projects if sia ang director.

ReplyDeleteNeed direck to be organized and disciplined. Hinde po lahat that works in films are as passionate as you they believe in life work balance
