After the failed "taho" video, nagbago yung concept at dynamics ng videos ni Erwan. Now I appreciate better his documentaries sa FEATR Youtube na. Maganda yung character/concept development.
I cringe sa post ni Andi Manzano na she got star struck by GR. She asked him to sign yun note na ginawa ni Olvia. She shared na fan siya ng anak niya, she watches all his shows and she loves his food. Basta maka sabay lang sa uso.
Ang sinasabi ni Andi is si Olivia daw ay nanonood lahat ng shows ni GR, fan daw yun bata. Eh hello 9 yrs old lang yun bata, iba pa ang sinusubaybayan niyan.
It is not his fault if he is not fluent because he grew up not learning it. But give credit to the man who is trying his best to speak tagalog when he meets people especially those in the countryside - watch his vlogs and you will know. Besides, we all have preferences and strength, his is food therefore he is trying his best to contribute to community in that aspect. Widen your perception. So pag di na pala marunong or fluent sa tagalog, dapat wag na siya mag encourage to love his own?
2:02 it's not colonial mentality. Hindi kasalanan ni Erwan if di niya kayang mag perfect Tagalog. At least siya he is doing something to raise the Philippines culture. Ikaw anong ambag mo??? Magsalita ng pure Tagalog? Tapos?
Ha. He and his team ade actually doing a lot to promote filipino cuisine and make it known worldwide.
I've seen other foreigners who already know how to speak tagalog, kahit may accent.
Old school yun na di fancy
Much better mag promote nalang sya ng French food. Mas swak yun kaysa pilit maging makamasa
2:52 it is his fault kasi puede kang matuto nyan. Si ryan bang nga and other foreign vloggers sobrang fluent hindi naman sila pilipino. Yun ate nya fluent din magtagalog. Yes true that he is using his strength but if he really wanted to relate to everyone at hndi english speaking filipinos lang, learning the language is the key to that.
2:52 no gurl, it his fault. Ang dami daming pure blooded foreigner like Sandara and yet ang galing galing nila magsalita ng tagalog. They really embrace our country!!
Not a fan of E or his wife, but seriously, ang daming plastic dito. US pinanganak for what, US citizenship? And don’t tell me you people don’t prefer imported from local goods, or foreign from local films? Pumuna kayo if you know the truest meaning of being nationalistic.
Mga ipokritong to!
Kahit food ang topic, it is crucial na he knows Filipino.
Penoys doing penoy things again :D :D :D So it took GR and AB to tell you penoys that your cusine is good ;) ;) ;) Wow :) :) :) Wow :) :) :) Wow :) :) :)
Galingan mo muna mag Filipino Language Erwan, then love your Pinoy Food slogan kana. Kasi salungat lang eh. Then yung food na niluluto mo parang nagiging Japanese or Thai ang recipes minsan.
Erwan iba kasi yung global recognition from them. Kaya lang etong mga vloggers doing it for $$$$ lang aminin man natin o hindi.
Erwan was born, raised and educated in the Philippines and yet hindi pa rin sya marunong mag- Tagalog? Hirap na hirap pa rin mag Tagalog? Imposible naman ata un. The way I see it, ayaw lang kasi nya talagang matuto mag Tagalog kaya di sya marunong mag Tagalog. Growing up, mukang may conscious effort sya not to learn and speak our language. Nakaka-offend. Nakakainis.
Even Nico Bolzico hates pinoy foods too.
True. Masarap but masyadong mamantika, maalat, or walang ka kulay2x mga pagkain natin. But still masarap at pang comfort food. I also like Japanese and Korean cuisines. More so ang Japanese. Masarap and the Japanese prepare and treat their food as if it's art.
Sa true lang tayo. I tried food in New Zealand, Japan, and Korea. Healthy talaga and masarap. Japan and Korea are known for healthy, tasty, and balanced food. 😋
Philippines masebo. Pero once in a while I enjoy our street food kasi it reminds me of my childhood.
Kun gusto mo makibagay sa mga tao, you learn their language. Pilipino naman tayo so sana marunong.
I guess you've never watched foreigners trying Filipino food, for the first time. It's not about falling for the PR. I don't know how genuine Gordon Ramsay is when he tries Filipino food, but there's a certain happiness, as a Filipino, when someone who is foreign to your food, enjoys it. Does it mean I lack pride in Filipino food because I feel happy about it? NOT AT ALL. There's a certain annoyance, quite honestly, when these Filipinos who grew up with more Foreign upbringing, school Filipinos. Take for example that interview with Liza Soberano about mental health wherein she criticized Filipinos and that Filipinos are not really resilient, that Filipinos are just Filipino pleasers, etc. Ummm, no. Filipinos are not people pleasers. Unlike other cultures, we truly see what reality is, but majority of Filipinos chooses to accept reality... surviving with what they can with what means they have without allowing all the negatives in life to bog them down. It's simply that.
Anthony who ? 7 years ng ded si Bourdain.
Lol. Honestly, whoever wrote that piece is making a hill out of NOTHING. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Filipinos are simply happy that someone so famous seem to like Filipino food. Either way, Filipinos love their food... just like any culture... it's home/it's comfort. You don't need to write an essay schooling Filipinos to be proud of their own food. They already are and have always been. 😑😑😑
how can you "love your own" when you keep bastardizing your own food? when you keep doing that nobody's going to experience our food as we do, hence sleeping beauty. hayok na hayok sa clout and recognition kahit ano pa sabihin nyo.
I agree. He comes across as mr know it all. Hard pass sa mga pinoy baiting clout chasers and branding his colleagues as queen of lumpia wala ka namang right. Trying hard to be Bourdain far from it.
Tama ka na Erwan! You're just using Filipino cuisine sa vlogs mo.
11:02 I learn a lot from his content. He made a really good series of videos about my hometown's cuisine. Not the usual "OMG THIS IS SOOO GOOD, ANG SARAP BLAH BLAH..." from other creators. May laman kumbaga.
Also he's promoting it to foreigners as well so English is the better choice. Just skip his vlogs and watch the ones in Filipino. It's not as if you don't have a choice.
11:02 obviously, you havent seen any FEATR episode. Next. So yung mga anak mo ba, pamangkin or anak ng friends mo na PURE FILIPINO magaling managalog? Napagsabihan mo narin ba sila?
After the failed "taho" video, nagbago yung concept at dynamics ng videos ni Erwan. Now I appreciate better his documentaries sa FEATR Youtube na. Maganda yung character/concept development.
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteI cringe sa post ni Andi Manzano na she got star struck by GR. She asked him to sign yun note na ginawa ni Olvia. She shared na fan siya ng anak niya, she watches all his shows and she loves his food. Basta maka sabay lang sa uso.
ReplyDeleteLuh, mukha naman genuine talaga yung feelings nya.
DeleteI unfollowed Andi and her husband. Fake sila. Akala mo wholesome. But they are supportive friends of Vic Consunji & his gf
DeleteTrue yan. Napaka fake nyan ni andi.
Delete1:11 sa yaman nun at asawa nya, bat impossible maging fan? lol
DeleteAng sinasabi ni Andi is si Olivia daw ay nanonood lahat ng shows ni GR, fan daw yun bata. Eh hello 9 yrs old lang yun bata, iba pa ang sinusubaybayan niyan.
Deletetsong aral ka muna Tagalog dun mo sabihin love your own
ReplyDeleteTrue that! I second hahahhahaha
DeleteAng toxic mo noh
DeleteLove our own pero until now hindi parin marunong magtagalog. Wag kami
Delete1:45 teh theres no toxicity on that. We are just telling the obvious truth na hndi nyo kayang tanggapin dahil sa colonial mentality nyo.

Delete2:52 Hello, FOREIGNERS nga like Sandara, Dayanara, Priscilla Mereilles, at Doc Adam tinuruan sarili nila mag-tagalog.
DeleteErwan was raised here in the Philippines!! He has no excuse. Ayaw nya lang matuto
This is a fair knock on him. Also he always gives off this vibe that he thinks he’s better than the masang Pilipino

ReplyDeleteLooks like a person who doesn't watch or costume the media he produces. Manood ka muna bago magjudge

DeleteHe does. With a twist. Di ba ganyan naman ang cook, you will elevate a simple dish.
