I saw an interview of Dennis he was so humble dinefend pa nya ang mmff, kesyo magandang location naman daw ang nabigay sakanila.
Second to this. Commonly mga nasa 4 ang sinehan sa probinsya which ung iba pa nga ay tanging sa syudad or city lang merong mall/sinehan. Tlga may unfairness.
Di nyo ata gets ung equal distribution. It doesn’t mean equal distribution ng theaters sa isang mall ang ibig nyang sabihin atleast same or dikit man lang ang dami ng theaters na showing ang mga entries ng mmff di gaya nyan na ang ibang entries 100 theaters agad sa opening while others halos 20–30 lang ang ibinigay,
hmmm. What if evenly distributed for the first week, then let the market forces decide? What if the mall only has 4 cinemas? will the movies be on rotation, say 11 am Green Bones, 2pm Breadwinner, 5pm Espantaho, 7pm Uninvited?
This is actually a good suggestion... two to three screenings per cinema, and the screenings could be spread throughout the first week for establishments with lesser number of cinemas.
May double feature pa nga silang tinatawag or dalawang sine sa isang bayad.
The logistics of that will be a nightmare. Kawawa din booking system nito, i can imagine how they need to adjust the system, test, deploy, maintain. Most likely not something that's gonna happen this year or next
2:27 ginagawa parin yan sa province but syempre if alam ng mall na blockbuster yung film like lets say avengers hindi talaga nila ihahati yan. Even sa states asa ka a film like moana topping will ever have an alternate.
To be Fair dapat bigyan muna ng equal cinemas lahat ng movies! And then if they see the demand for the film at madaming nanonood dapat dun palang sila dapat mag ADD ng cinemas then bawasan ang cinemas ng isang movie kung wala namang pumapasok na tao!
It's a business. Market forces and audience tastes will always come into play. In the US, big budget studio films tend to open wide, meaning in a huge number of cinemas. While indie or arthouse films open in limited release. Meaning initially in LA and NY and key cities, and then slowly rolled out across the rest of the country.
Well true. Kaso festival kasi so ideally dapat equal opportunities lahat ng entries then after saka sila magdecide which ones to keep showing. Again, ideally. Sadly that's not what happens
I want to know th reason why...
Business yan. Alam nilang mas malaki ang kikitain ng Vice Ganda film over let's say, Himala. BUUUUT. Maybe have a minimum and maximum number of cinemas per movie? Kahit during the 14-day run lang. May nakita akong data sa X (not final and official) - Breadwinner has 90+ (highest) while Himala has like 15 I think (lowest). Ang layo masyado ng gap. Others have like 70+, 60+, then yung sumunod na bracket na, nasa 20+ cinemas. So in a way, the MMFF org is already dictating kung ano ang panonoorin ng tao and in effect, discouraging them to watch the lesser known/sikat entries. In a way, nawawala yung essence ng pagkakaron ng festival of local movies. Sana magcompromise din ang MMFF organization and not make it a 90% business.
Business is business. Ganon lang talaga. They need to learn to make good films commercially attractive also. I believe may say din ang mga cinema owners to decide which movie to show so I do not know how much ang influence ng mmff dyan.
i still remember yung taon na gustuhin ko mang manood ng entry sa MMFF, movies lang ni Vice at Bossing ang palabas sa amin. Tig-2 cinemas sila.

ReplyDeleteLike ko yong sinabi niya about pataas. May point nga naman siya.
DeleteDennis Trillo is a box office poison. Hindi kumikita mga movies nya.
Delete1202 Some of his movies did quite well naman. Enough for ROI.
DeleteThere are 10 films in mmff kaya siguro naka spread talaga ang movies. Green bones is #1 on my list.
ReplyDeleteHindi nga naka spread eh. Limited dustribution yung sa tingin nilang hibdi comercially viable.
Delete10:04 nagets mo ba talaga ang topic?
Delete10:04 uhhmmmm.....are we on the same page?
ReplyDeleteTrue
DeleteSaan to baks 10:05???
ReplyDelete10:09 I agree 🤭.

DeleteSubjective yung "maganda".
DeleteOurs has 6. 3 will probably only screen Vice Ganda’s movie. Same thing happened 2 years ago. They wanna screen what sells. It’s just the truth 🤷🏻♀️
DeleteDapat fair ang distribution
ReplyDeleteLife is not fair
Deletehow would it be fair if like samin, 3 cinemas lang ang SM? sige nga. 10 entried yan classmate
DeleteNaomi Smalls' Life's not fair

ReplyDeleteyung isang mall nga last year, walang firefly kahit 10 cinemas sila. Instead na Firefly, foreign film ang pinalabas nila. can't remember what film.
DeleteAs the saying goes, you can't make the horse run faster by beating it to death with a stick :D :D :D You have to give it hay and water :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteAno connect neto?

ReplyDeleteGreenbones at Uninvited papanoorin namin.

Flop dyan kay ate bi at Judy an. For sure
ReplyDelete2023 MMFF rewind hanggang kumita. Lahat flop. For sure the kingdom ang hit!
ReplyDeleteGreenbones lang panonoorin ko among the entries.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Hindi siya kasama sa first six movies na ilalabas sa only six cinemas here.
