My hubby's bestfriend recently went rock bottom because of his addiction to gambling. As in millions. To be fair, Ivana as endorser for online gambling is not as disappointing as Maine Mendoza, who's married to a congressman, Vic Sotto, who's related to a senator or Piolo Pascual, who has a wholesome image. Gambling is gambling, kahit pasosyalin mo pa ito.

And despite of the crumbling reality around a gambling addict--there is always that hope that it'll get better once they win big--and that thought is hanging over their heads constantly. They'd win, life will be BETTER, then they can finally quit. I don't know if that happens with alcoholics and drug addicts. Substance abusers think they'll drink or do drugs one last time, then they'd quit when they're ready, then life would go back to normal. There's also the reward component--substance addicts don't occasionally win money as an incentive when they keep drinking or taking meth...the high they are chasing is not as tangible as actual money.
