  1. I'm not a fan of miss u. I've always thought abt it as just a form of entertainment with no real meaningful advocacy and tangible results. If the current miss u does something about this call, I'll maybe radically change my stand on this. Not that it matters but I do feel for our marginalized fellow filipinos. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the disparity in our society. While celebrities are enjoying the monetory rewards of promoting materialism, people in the b/g whom we don't see are suffering. So yea, miss u, i hope you do something about this.

    1. wala kaming pakialam, the world is definintely unfair. So we live with the situation.

    2. Live with the situation? Wtf?!

    3. 2:05 "wala kaming pakialam"

    4. 205 very very insensitive

    5. reality bites my dear, there exists disparity in the society. Live with it.

    6. teh dumilat tayong lahat sa mundong ibabaw na may mayaman may mahirap. Walang pantay pantay. Kahit saang bansa sa pa manirahan , there is disparity in the society.

      Delete
    7. 3:17 that's what pinoys call resiliency lol. That's why hanggang diyan na lang mga tao they will never demand or seek for something better.

      Delete
    8. 2:05 wag ignoramus.

    10. Totoo naman na meron talagang disparity between rich and poor, kahit saan pa yan, but that is not an excuse not to raise awareness about injustice, diba sabi nga - that the only necessary thing for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

      Delete
    11. this thing happened 70s hindi pa pinanganak ang karamihan dito. There is no IPRA law back in the 70s. So this whole thing is moot in academic.

  2. Hay, lahat nalang may issue.

    1. They were asking the winner to lend her voice.

      Delete
    3. Meron ba talaga nagagawa ang miss universe title holder than just post for cameras na kunyari ganito ganyan ang advocacies nila? Iiyak kunyari sa videos blah blah. Wake up people hahahaha

      Delete
    4. 3:09 “this is not an appeal; it is a call to action”

    5. The winner is bound to promote products and services as deemed fit by Miss U Org. May tie up with Jewelmer, alangan naman she fights a major sponsor/partner?!

Pero props sa org for using the recent Miss U to expose Jewelmer.

  4. Hala Jewelmer ano to?

The island was acquired at that time.

    2. Sierra Leone has “Blood Diamonds”, Colombia has “Blood Emeralds”, Mozambique has “Blood Rubies”, Madagascar has “Blood Sapphires”, Myanmar has “Blood Jades” and Afghanistan has “Blood Lapis Lazulis”. Now, Pinas naman has these “Blood Pearls”.

Kadaming pearls sa Greenhills similar to this na never naman na call out!

      Delete
    4. 206 Just because wala kang alam sa istorya ng mga indigenous Filipinos, it doesn't mean you have the right to belittle it.

      Delete

Not all fake sa GH. Yung mga mura.

      Delete
    7. marami din jewelers offering the same type of pearls hindi lang jewelmer, napakarami.

      Delete

If i hear jewelmer's side at parang ang mali ay sa kanila, then I will change my mind and support the aggrieved party.

  6. Taray! Ginawa nilang government agency si Denmark. Though may advocacy yan si ate, go to the right agency and appeal there. Binigay lang yan sakanya and yung obligation nya e yung tasks at advocacies na nakatoka sakanya. Instead of educating her about her crown, why don’t you educate your fellow Filipinos and keep pursuing it to the right agency. Create a social media buzz so us pinoys will be aware too para sama sama naten mabigyan ng boses yan.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies

      Delete
    2. naisip nyo ba ang media mileage at symbolism if Denmark will refuse to wear the crown?

      Delete
    3. It's a media mileage move. I don't think they expect the winner to return the crown. This is to bring back Jewelmer'a history to the present. It helpa din na Scandi siya and they are staunch nature and human rights protectors, so baka ma-pick up ng EU press.

      Delete
    4. 7:40kahit mag ingay sila, walang maniwala dyan sa pinagsasabi nila. Wala din kaso ang naifile against these companies. So malamang hindi legit itong mga supposedly nagiingay.

  7. What do you expect? Most of big organizations meron at meron talaga bahid ng corruption.

  10. Very low act of DESPERATION naman neto. IDAMAY BA TALAGA SI MS. U???!!!

    2. Nakakahiya ang comment nyo. Walang empathy. Walang reading comprehension. Walang pagintindi sa situation.

    3. They were fighting both since the 80s pa.

      Delete

Sawsaw.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Cultured pearls yata ito di ba? Alangan sila ang umani tapos iba ang nagtanim.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Check nyo po yung FB page nila may mga press releases na sila about the Jewelmer crown nung nilabas yung crown and Jewelmer itself noon pa, but syempre nag trending lang itong recent.

    ReplyDelete

So kapag nagrespond sayo si Ms. Denmark at di nya na isusuot yan or magcomment lang sa issue what will happen to her as the new winner? what if si Chelsea ang winner, iko-call out pa ba? or proud to be pinoy na naman ang peg

    ReplyDelete
  19. Grabe yung comment ng iba dito. Nanawagan lang naman sila sa Miss Universe for global awareness and considering she wears the crown of blood pearls. Don't you think na they tried to appeal with the government before?

Please be sensitive sa plight nila.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Iyong nagcomment na kadamidaming pearl naman sa Pilipinas at di nacallout, there is such a thing as ethical harvesting ng pearls. Ethical ba yun?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sa pagkaka-alam ko ang pearl farm ng Jewelmer is located sa Taytay Palawan (North) not Balabac (South). Anong issue ni koya?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Bat ngayon lang sila nagiingay. You are putting the winner in a very difficult situation/position she didn't choose. Don't prove something in the expense of others. Dapat during the inception palang ng crown or for sure nabalitaan na nila yan prior of making the crown, dapat doon palang they tried to stop it na if they are truly advocates of what they fighting for.

    1. 1970's pa to when the area was allegedly forcibly taken from them under martial law.

      Delete
    2. The OP is referring to their issue with the crown. Bat hindi sila naginterfere in making the crown bat naghintay pa sila magkaroon ng winner at ilalagay sa difficult position yung winner. I know they're advocating a very good social issue pero hindi dapat yung winner ang ilalagay nila sa alanganin. Yung makers ng crown ang kalaban.

  23. FyI, IPRA law was passed 1997. Walang IPRA during the 70s so malamang hindi covered ng IPRA law ang mga yan. Also what indigenous people are you talking about.
