Hindi biro tumakbo ng marathon. She should post pics of her feet, then we'll know. Namatayan ako ng kuko nung first full marathon ko. With large paltos.
So you're one of those people na tamad magbasa ng long post so may ibang conclusion? OR nagbasa nga pero wrong comprehension? Alin sa dalawa? BOTH? OK, noted din.
It did kind of feel that something was off when the story was first published but the columnist was a heavy hitter herself, so I was curious with where this was going. Now I’m waiting how this will conclude so I could also draw my conclusions. Interesting bit.
It serves din as motivation kasi, naiisip ko "Self, nakapagpost ka na, nakakahiya wala pang finisher medal after".
Pero she can't reach NYC Marathon naman if wala sia prior run. Kasi need yung when applying may standard sila.
But they can also join if they get picked through lottery drawing. When I saw her post, I just find it hard to believe. Mga nagko-comment dito na crab mentality have never run a full marathon (42 k), baka not even 10k pa nga. It takes hard training and dedication, otherwise you'll risk getting yourself injured. I couldn't even get off the bus after my first marathon. Wonder what their finish time was. I do hope they didn't cut corners sa route or "nandaya". They don't look like runners to me. Sorry not sorry. The running community would know.
I ran NYCM past year without any prior race. It can be done teh. Either you get lucky sa lottery draw, or mag run ka for charity. Which was what I did. Dami mo sinabi may pa ghost runner ka pa. Di mo naman alam full mechanics.
Nakatakbo ka na ba ng 42 km?? Akala mo madali lang yun, na any time na trip mo pwede ka tumakbo ganun distance? Kaya marami nagkkwestyon, mga tunay na tumatakbo.
Eh db nga kiniquestion ung pagtapos ng marathon nila? Kaya need nya talaga proof. Gagawa ng fake news, itatama, pero in the end di rin naman papaniwalaan ung fact check. Hayyy kakaloka, kaya dami nauuto pag eleksyon.
naku, yung sub reddit ng manila ay kn-call out sila as cheater. kahit bigyan mo ng explanation na hindi naman automatic na cheating and reasonable naman yung time and tinakbo nila, wala pa rin. kaya dapat talaga fact check and counter nila yun.
Self trained sila ng bf . They didn’t hire a running coach . I wonder why she said she didn’t have training . I need 6 months to train for a marathon and 4 months for half now that I’m older . With her age 3 months is doable as she is also very athletic.
Naniwala ka namang walang training yan. Did she run 42k? 5k nga wala kang practice e imbalido ka na after.
2:15 she didn’t say she didn’t train, what she said was she trained on her own/ didn’t hire a professional trainer. So you would infer nag research sila what they need to do to mentally and physically prepare. If they can run 5-6 hours/ 26.2 miles continuously a few times prior to the event and developed endurance, they know that they have the lungs, legs and will to finish it and rhabdo is not going to happen if they prepared properly.
I know you have to qualify for this - meaning participating in other marathons to accumulate points needed to qualify. Maybe Rhian & partner just didn't post their previous runs?
Yes you may qualify by participating in other marathons, but that is not the only way. You can join the lottery, buy a tour package or be a member of a non-US tour operator.
Honestly, andami ngayon tumatakbo ng marathon without proper training for flex lang. kasi uso. I have been running half marathons for years now, di pa ko makapag commit ng full kasi i have a 4 yo and 5mo. I recently ran a half last month and one thing na narealize ko dun is i have to train when i finally decide to run a full. I want to say i really ran the marathon!
Ang daming crab 🦀 dito . That’s so disgusting . Parang yung best friend ko dati that she was making fun of my post from my marathon and half marathon run for charity years ago . She keep on saying wahahahaha akalain mo eh malapit ka nang maging golden girl eh you’re still running 😝 😂 may mga emoji pa . She is even couple of years older than me . Then when I stopped posting she said , bff, bakit wala ka nang mga post ? Wala na akong pagtatawanan. I know that she was just projecting kasi we have different quality of life pero yung pagiging talangka eh nadala niya hanggang dito sa Canada . Kaya I don’t post now anything even I still run . No more Facebook for 5 years and I feel peaceful . Why can’t you just be happy for people who have goals . Proud of you, Rhian and bf. And to all runners here on FP, you have my high respect 🙌 ❤️
Case in point yun marathon. You can easily search their names sa results to know if they finished or not. Rhian used her real name RHIAN HOWELL not RHIAN RAMOS. And Sam his full name. They finished the race! And they entered the race thru chairty.
snaps of them while on the track is a more believable proof, imposible naman na wala silang kasama to take pictures as it is an achievemen to finish a marathon
Kayong mga arm chair warriors, 42K/26 miles is not a small feat to achieve, it is a long distance marathon that will test your endurance and your mind. Hirap kaya ng preparation, logistics and finally finishing it. It doesn’t mean walang pic dito it didn’t happen. Do your own research kung doubt kayo, but don’t invalidate their achievements, added bonus, they run for charity.
Or sue them. Sira kaya reputation nila people calling them cheaters.
May malice ung article nya. Pero for an accomplished lawyer and journalist to write such a malicious article, napaka off lang nun at nakakasad ng tunay.
You go, girl! Dont let haters win
ReplyDeleteHindi biro tumakbo ng marathon. She should post pics of her feet, then we'll know. Namatayan ako ng kuko nung first full marathon ko. With large paltos.
DeleteAh ok joined the marathon for a photo op, noted
ReplyDeleteNow, this comment is crab mentality. Feeling superior.
DeleteNakalagay po ngraise ng funds for charity. Para mga children with clefts to get proper treatment.
Delete10:35 ahhh no reading comprehension, noted po😬
DeleteWhat is this comment for ?
DeleteE ano naman kung nagpa picture picture? Pa-deep ka ba, 10:35?
DeleteMas maganda at believable kung pictures ng paa nila after the race ang pinost. Aber.
DeleteLiteral utak talangka si 10.35
DeleteSo you're one of those people na tamad magbasa ng long post so may ibang conclusion?
DeleteOR nagbasa nga pero wrong comprehension?
Alin sa dalawa? BOTH? OK, noted din.
Ay sus as if ikaw eh kaya mong mag marathon 10:35. Sige nga! I dare you!
ReplyDelete1054, magsama kayo ni 1035 at magkakaintindihan kayo. Parehong utak talangka e.
DeleteI don’t understand why you have something bad to say about someone joining a marathon. Make it make sense.
Ano nga ba sabi ni Dom about unhappy people?
DeleteAchievement? I bet wala pa sa kalahati naacchieve ng idol mo kung sino man yan.. sa naachieve ni Rhian professionally and personally
DeleteWow. I could barely finish 3miles 😬
ReplyDelete10:35 you are exactly the 🦀 Rhian was talking about
ReplyDelete1035 you again?
DeleteSyempre, kasi tumatakbo sa politika yung guy.
Delete11:45, isa ka pa. For charity nga daw.
DeleteCan’t wait to do this new year!!!
ReplyDeleteIt did kind of feel that something was off when the story was first published but the columnist was a heavy hitter herself, so I was curious with where this was going. Now I’m waiting how this will conclude so I could also draw my conclusions. Interesting bit.

DeleteActually no, you can. If it’s for charity. Anne Curtis did the same when she joined
DeleteI ran NYCM past year without any prior race. It can be done teh. Either you get lucky sa lottery draw, or mag run ka for charity. Which was what I did.
Talagang crab mentality pinaiiral… tsk tsk.
ReplyDeleteNakatakbo ka na ba ng 42 km?? Akala mo madali lang yun, na any time na trip mo pwede ka tumakbo ganun distance? Kaya marami nagkkwestyon, mga tunay na tumatakbo.
DeleteThat’s so true . Ang daming crab. It takes massive discipline and resilience to finish a marathon . 🦀
DeleteAno toh? She reached out pa to NYRR para may maipost ma proof?
ReplyDeletedami kasing talangka and you smell like one
DeleteAtleast siya may proof. Either meron or wala, ngak ngak parin kayong mga bashers?
DeleteEh db nga kiniquestion ung pagtapos ng marathon nila? Kaya need nya talaga proof. Gagawa ng fake news, itatama, pero in the end di rin naman papaniwalaan ung fact check. Hayyy kakaloka, kaya dami nauuto pag eleksyon.
DeleteWhy not? To silence yung mga naninira.
Pwedeng ma injure or get rhabdo.
ReplyDeleteSelf trained sila ng bf . They didn’t hire a running coach . I wonder why she said she didn’t have training . I need 6 months to train for a marathon and 4 months for half now that I’m older . With her age 3 months is doable as she is also very athletic.

DeleteNapagoogle ako about rhabdo. Learned something new today. Thanks @2:15
DeleteNaniwala ka namang walang training yan. Did she run 42k? 5k nga wala kang practice e imbalido ka na after.
Delete9:23 medyo oa sa inbalido ang 5k na walang practice kasi nag 6k ako na may hangover at walang tulog, ok naman ako hahaha

ReplyDeleteYou can run if you are supporting a charity.
Deletenot it's lottery
DeleteThrough lottery pwede rin.
DeleteYes you may qualify by participating in other marathons, but that is not the only way. You can join the lottery, buy a tour package or be a member of a non-US tour operator.
DeleteThere are other ways of joining like lottery draw and charity, FYI
DeleteI wonder tho bat naabutan sila ng road re opening? That is a significant time diff. Apaka bagal ba nila, naglamyerda, nagphoto op, nag reels?

ReplyDeleteTheir names are there as finishers… Rhian’s name is Rhian Howell. Sam is also there. Check the website results.nyrr.org

ReplyDeleteHow did she qualify for NYC if this was her first full marathon?
ReplyDeleteAnyone can join a marathon here in America
Delete11:45 search media is free, hindi lang yon ang qualifications to get in. Lawakan isip.
DeleteIt's for Charity kaya nakasali sila

ReplyDeleteMarathon is fund raising, you have to pay 💰 and pag naging finisher ka then you’ll receive medal. Yun lang yun.
