What is just off-putting here is Julie and her performance choices, mostly yung attire niya and pagkanta sa harap ng altar. Nevermind the dance moves or song choice kasi she has to rally the crowd saka hindi naman vulgar yung songs. But this could’ve been handled way differently and with more thought.

Usually pag kailangan talaga magconcert sa loob ng simbahan doon sa area ng choir sa bandang gilid. Yung damit wag naman masyadongbrevealing at takpan naman yung mga cross. Alam naman yan sa simbahan. Sinabi ba yan sa Parish Priest baka naman hindi kasi. Yung handler sisihin, yung organiser, yung sa may simbahan mukhang hindi alam papaano dapat pag sa loob gaganapin at a little bit sa singer hmmmm sa song choices sana kung pwede pinaapprove kasi sa parish priest yun.

Kung may makakabasa nito na medyo ka-edad ko, Ang San Roque Parish sa Alabang nagkaron ng concert for a cause, tinakpan lang ang buong altar habang may concert. I'm not sure kung para sa completion ng school ito na San Roque Catholic School na bagong tayo pa lang non. First year high school pa lang ako nung mga time na yon. I'm not saying na tama ginawa ng organizer pati performers, just saying na hindi ito first time na nangyari sa loob ng isang Catholic Church. Yun lang.

DeleteFault ni Julie Ann for dressing that way and choosing an inappropriate song. Fault nung Parish for still allowing Julie Ann to perform in that outfit, with that song, sa altar, no less. Walang inosente sa kanila sa issue na ito. They're as guilty as every hypocrite trying to point fingers.
ReplyDeleteIf she had a nice overcoat over the dress - kahit na lace, and she sang Ave Maria or Oceans, it would have been okay.

ReplyDeleteI wonder if the church secretary was aware of what she’s supposed to sing ? because in my wedding we hired a singer and we had to disclose all the songs. They are very particular about it and rules has to be followed. In this case she herself disrespected the church by acting like she was in a bar or perhaps in concert arena. Her outfit was definitely nice but she’s in a wrong venue with that outfit as well. What was she thinking? Where is her common sense? . I really thought she’s better than that. The apology letter was also halfhearted! I do like her singing ability but I’m totally shocked and baffled with her common sense!!
ReplyDeleteShe sang a song for a benefit she was invited to. She didn't desecrate the church, the cross, the pope, the religion. Sin is about intent, she didn't have bad intentions. People should stop acting outraged. Mas outraged ako sa mga taong naka LV sabay 20 lang ang idodonate.
