Maybe she was even paid cheap, half of her worth, so yung flop flop na sinsabi nyo inyo napansin lowbat yun for your own kaligayahan that she fails. Grabe mga tao talaga.
ReplyDeleteit was even originally made for Cinemalaya, kaya di talaga nila main priority ang mag earn ng sobra, nagkataon lang na naghit sya sa cinemalaya audience, oaya they gave it a chance na ilabas sa mainstream.

DeleteThe production said that she took shares of profit instead of TF. She wanted the budget to focus on the film making itself - to hire other talents and to pay for production. Perhaps she learned from DD's Agostodos approach sa Rewind. It's almost like she did the movie for passion rather than for pay.

ReplyDeleteAng bababaw ng mga top grossing films na kumikita at kinakagat ng masa. Yes, we all want to be entertained kaya nga nanonood ng sine e - pero every now and then sana namana we watch films na may sustansya, di puro pakilig, kabitan, barilan, o kwela.
I read an article na flop ito together with other movies that opened in the same week. Some cinemas are pulling out na nga daw since hindi na meet yong required daily reqt. Sadly hindi nareplicate ang rewind movie, swerte lang talaga yong movie na yon.

People forgot this is cinemalaya - an indie festival with limited release. Yet because of demand, they gave Balota 2 extra screenings.

ReplyDeleteThey are just trying to create a narrative to mask the FACT that Marian Rivera, despite having the top grossing film of all time less than a year ago, cannot make people go to cinemas to watch her film. She needs a machinery as huge as Star Cinema to be able to do so. Walang masama sa intention na mapababa ang ticket price for students and teachers. Pero wag ding napakadaling malinlang. This is showBUSINESS. Napakatagal na nyan sa industriya. Of course she knows how to turn a pr to her advantage. Syempre poprotektahan nila ang pangalan nya. Gusto nilang hindi ma-negate yang title nya as Box Office Queen. Be smarter naman.

NakaOscars na ang Korea, naiwan na ang Pilipinas. Imbis hayaan lang gumawa ng maayos na pelikula puro bashing ang inatupag. Puro network war lang ang alam, wala na ngang franchise, crab pa rin.
