Napa search tuloy ako sa issue. Ang awkward nga. Andyan pa sa mismong altar, nakaharap mismo yong crucifix, niyuyukuan nga namin yan as a sign of respect tapos dyan ka lang gigiling giling. Sana man lang tinakpan muna yong altar kung ggawing concert venue. Or kaya bakit di na lang sa labas ng simbahan din kasi ginanap.
I do believe na true professional sya, but you also included devout Catholic in the statement, so ibig sabihin aware din sya na sacred ang Church for Catholics. The way she dressed, songs, etc., very inappropriate and in poor taste. She should have said something. Hindi yun oo lang ng oo out of professionalism. May utak din naman sya.
She should have declined in the first place since it doesn’t aligned at all in her beliefs. We came from same Catholic school . I don’t understand why she has to dress like that and dance like that inside the church.
She’s suppose to be a mature grown up adult woman and her common sense didn’t function at all - behaviour + character + personality all of a sudden gone wasted and went to the garbage bin👎next time please know your place and be mindful parang biglang - just like that naligwak ang tamang pag iisip nya 😭😭😭😭
This is a hard lesson learned from both her talent management and herself. They should be more sensitive as to the venues and kind of audience they will be performing.
God will be mad dahil she performed for a benefit concert? OK. Hindi siya nakahubad, walang kita kundi legs, hindi naman offensive yung kanya, nag enjoy yung nanood. If I'm not mistaken we need to observe respect if the holy sacrament is exposed which I'm sure it wasn't during the concert.
Ginagawa na rin ito ng ibang Catholic Churches way back 1980s pa. Kung may makakabasa nito na medyo ka-edad ko, Ang San Roque Parish sa Alabang nagkaron ng concert for a cause, tinakpan lang ang buong altar habang may concert. I'm not sure kung para sa completion ng school ito na San Roque Catholic School na bagong tayo pa lang non. First year high school pa lang ako nung mga time na yon. I'm not saying na tama ginawa ng organizer pati performers, just saying na hindi ito first time na nangyari sa loob ng isang Catholic Church. Yun lang.
yes, high school ako during early eighties and I remember nag concert din sa church namin pero choir na composed of seminaristas ang kumanta. Not sure if tinakpan ang altar, I think may konting stage decor lang in such a way na covered ang altar, and the songs are 'church appropriate', walang mga Dancing Queen type of songs, mga sober, mala broadway na parang mga operatic ang mga songs. yes it's not the first time pero dapat binabagay naman, hindi yang mga ganyang klase. Kelan din kaya mag apologize ang organizer?
@3:38 mabuti sa inyo noon "church appropriate" mga songs, 'yung sa amin noon upbeat songs na mga uso nung time na 'yon, kasi I remember parang danceable pa 'yung beat. Siguro mag put up na lang organizer ng makeshift stage sa labas ng church kung fundraiser event. At 'yun nga, sana mag apologize din ang organizer.

Thank you GMA for clarification but i think miss julie ann also needs to be give statement and apologize though the management get all the blame, she is not a robot and its not a surprise to her that she will be singing inside the church, its not about being catholic or not, the point is she disrespected the place that most of the people respect. If its for a cause then thank you but that intention wont change of what you did. Common sense is a key!
If you'll read between the lines sa statement ng GMA, it looks like di na-coordinate ng maayos ang details ng performance.
What if lang naman, it was not cleared sa artist na sa loob mismo ng simbahan ang performance? And mukhang wala din vetting from the church on the song to be performed.
Sa side ng artist, andun ka na, yun lang dala mong damit. Prepped na din ang backing track. Ikaw ang main event. Ano gagawin mo?
she's been in the industry for 2 decades na. hindi na dapat sya baguhan sa mga last minute changes na ganyan. like most of the singers has back up outfit sa van nila in case na may change of plan. most of them has back up tape (or ipod) - i dont know what they use now, para kung may changes sa lists of songs, pwede din mabago. pwede din tanggihan mo at sabihing sa labas na lang ang concert kase nakakahiya naman na she uses the altar as her stage at nasa background pa ang cross. maraming pwedeng ginawa para maiwasan to but they didnt do it. so the backlash she is getting now not only from the pinoys but also mga foreign accounts na Catholics are acceptable. they felt disrespected and you should give that to them.
