Robbery (holdup or holdap in Filipino term) is not the same as burglary. Did the offender come up to Cat and threaten to hurt her (or implied to hurt her) if she doesn't give up her possession...or did someone break into her vehicle. The first one is robbery while the second circumstance was burglary. Anyway, it's not the victim 's fault. No one should take what's not rightfully theirs even if it's in plain view. Nevertheless, I still take precautions when leaving stuff in the car because I can't control people's actions.

I feel bad for her and her family, that sucks especially when you’re just trying to enjoy. My husband and I was just in London last month and thankfully we had a great time and no incidents. We always leave our important documents in the safe deposit box at our hotel . We also try to pretend and dress up like we are locals but absolutely avoid wearing any fancy bags or clothing or don’t wear any valuable jewelry. London actually is one of the friendliest cities and we always made sure that it’s our base to visit some other places in Europe. Riding on the tube is very much a local thing to do and Uber boats is a convenient and easy option to go from one city to the other, of course you can easily exert 10,000 thousand or 20 thousand steps in a day going places but that’s the fun part , you got your exercise and you have a good excuse to eat amazing dinner at your heart’s out after doing all that walk. It’s a nightmare driving around London popular places to visit because it’s always traffic. So avoid it!!
I beg to disagree. Actually Europe is much safer than USA at the moment. Try walking in San Francisco or Los Angeles, NYC or Chicago? There’s no such thing such as a leisurely walking around here without to worry if you are about to be attacked. In Europe particularly the big cities like London even Rome, Amsterdam , Vienna or Paris you still have that feeling of being safe. Obviously you have to be street smart. Don’t be out late at night or if you do make sure you’re not alone.
Europe more of petty crimes like pickpockets and robberies sa big touristy cities. Sa US mga hate crimes and mass shootings although sa laki and lawak ng US, highly unlikely na ma tyempuhan ka unless dun ka sa big cities.
My mother visited me here in Amsterdam throughout her stay naiimbyerna ako tuwing lumalabas kami kasi she lets her guard down. So I kept reminding her that she should be as vigilant here as she is in the Philippines. Very rampant din ang pickpocket everywhere kahit dito sa Europe. Nasa France kami she just leaves her stuff around saying people here will not steal it haaay. Good news is nakabalik sya safe and sound and walang nawala

It’s sad when ignorant Pinoys who have never traveled or know nothing about current world events, still think Europe and North America are the same safe and crime-free societies they are in the 90s and early 2000s. The fact that they are shocked that this incident happened in broad daylight in London. If in the US, one can get shot randomly, in London you get stabbed. If they only knew the crime statistics of these major European cities.
