Sa team sports parang mahirap tayo makapasok like basketball or volleyball etc.dahil sa hindi sila magaling kundi sa height or weight requirements talaga no match. And I believe that we have a lot of young people that are talented and passionate to become one like Carlos in the future.Philippine government should put big chunk of financial support to sports if we want to bag more medals in international competitions.

Hanggang Asian games pwede pa pero wag na olympics, focus our resources to sports like gymnastics, fencing, rowing, boxing , bowling , dance yan ganyan

    7. 2:14 - are you referring to American Football or European? Don’t get me wrong mga classmate, I like it too but sa NCR I noticed limited ang space and even private schools would rather build a new classroom for profit than use it for sports

  2. May point naman siya

  3. Honestly, true. Let's put funding to lesser known sports that us Filipinos will most likely excel in. Malay niyo, next gold natin nasa lesser known (to the Filipino public) sports at dun pa tayo humakot ng medalya.

  4. agree ako dito. diversify. since open na naman ang Pinoy sa ibang sports and hindi na tayo ganoon ka basketball centric.

  8. Alam kasi ng pulitiko multi purpose hall, waiting shed and basketball court. Agree on gymnasiums that can accomodate different sports.

  9. Yes!

  11. There's a difference kasi between mahilig mag basketball at magaling mag basketball. The former is where Filipinos fall under.

Sabihin mo yan kila mvp or rsa

    1. Hindi rin. Bakit basketball and volleyball court pa rin ang nasa gymnasium ng mga schools and public arenas. If they want pwede naman track field or football

  13. Tama ka Agot agree ako sa yo time to for a change in the world of sports in the Philippines yes to individual sports to give way to these talented kids.

  14. Gayahin ang Korea. They're not very good in team sports in the Olympics pero they dominate archery, sharp shooting, fencing, table tennis, etc. These are sports that don't need huge funding and facilities like swimming and basketball. Pero tingnan nyo naman they always win gold because their athletes can focus on mastering those fields without distraction from teams and the athletes are not treated like big celebrities. Even North Korea napakagaling sa table tennis and mas mahirap na bansa pa yan kesa sa Pinas.

    1. South Korea nakaka qualify sa world cup umaabot pa nga sa knock out stage

    2. Top archers are from SK! Super idol ko sila. I do archery as a hobby. SK as a nation raise archers from kindergarten pa lang. Ang gagaling ng school program. National sport na nila.

Realtalk lang talaga 'to. Okay lang sya nationwide or SEA competitions since similar body built naman sa ibang asian countries. But global competition? Then height advantage din. Same with basketball. Sana we focus on other sports na may chance naman tayo mag top. You can include soccer din pero you need to train while very young pa. I remember sa PE namin, yung options lang that time basketball, volleyball and swimming. Sana yung government and private sectors(sponsors) will support other sports na may higher chance tayo manalo. Ang hirap maging atleta dito na hindi basketball at volleyball, you have to give up your sport eventually since you're not earning or kulang allowance. Unless mayaman ka na talaga, you can still pursue it. Ang daming sports na pwede pagtuunan ng pansin like archery, shooting, table tennis, badminton, weightlifting, gymnastics, judo, taekwondo, fencing, skateboarding, diving, boxing, pwede rin figure skating if yayamanin ka or if may sponsor. Imagine if we focus on those and support athletes baka madagdagan pa tayo ng medal sa Olympics. Kaso wala eh. May chance pa kayo government and private sectors for Olympics in LA. May 4 years pa kahit kulang yung 4 years for training. But with consistency and support, kakayanin yan sa next Olympics.

    2. I agree, pag maliit ka talo ka talaga sa basketball compared to other countries, dapat nagsilbing lesson nung naghost ang Pilipinas ng World Basketball event a year ago, nakakahiya may papuso puso pang nalalaman, stop being delusional! ilagay ang funding sa sports na hindi kinakailangan ng height etc

      Delete

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree with Agot; mainstream media or private companies should finance basketball athletes since they often feature them on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  19. We have great dancers and our kids can do amazing physical feats. Pinoys make great gymnasts, boxers and weightlifters. Meron pang artistic gymnastics for girls eh, for sure we can produce amazing athletes in this area too. Di kailangan ang height, just precision and athleticism. Let's go!

    ReplyDelete
    Feeling NBA level kasi eh.
    Feeling lang 😅

Basketball is more on means of livelihood than in competition and this is powered by private by big corporations not by the government.
