  4. Win or lose we are soo proud of you. I didn't know pole vault would be this intense. Ang hirap ah. We are so proud of you EJ!!! CHIN UP ❤️

  5. No need to say sorry EJ. The fact that the world of pole vaulting knows that there's an excellent contender all the way from the Philippines is an honor already.

  7. Pinagpuyatan ko to kaninang madaling araw. Hats off to you EJ for a job well done. We are truly proud of you.

    P. S.: Ang saya tingnan ng tatlong medalists. Parang mga bata sina Lawrence Fishburne (Karalis of Greece), Steve Kerr (Kendricks of USA) and Cilian Murphy (Duplantis of Sweden) nagtatatakbo. Hopeful that EJ will get to do this too in LA2028.

  23. I can imagine the frustration, so near yet so far. You did us proud. Kahit walang podium finish, i'm sure alam ng lahat how much effort you put in

  24. You did all the hard work so you had nothing to apologize. Congrats on being an Olympian πŸ‘

  25. If he feels like apologizing, let him. Sometimes that's one way to lessen the pain of not being able to achieve his goal to get the gold.

  26. If it’s meant to be it will be. So don’t beat up yourself too much because it’s out of your hands. If you can still try once again after 4 years then try it again and if still not given to you, just take it as part of your life’s journey and move on.

It's like telling someone na namatayan na wag umiyak or wag dibdibin yung nangyari.

  30. For me one of the most difficult Sports yang kay Ej but may representative tayo dyan at a very good athlete pa. Nakakaproud lang! May next Olympics pa Ej! Go for the Gold! Nakakafrustrate cgro sa part nya kasi isang kembot nlang eh may medalya na sya but meron pang next time. Next Olympics Ej! We are still proud of you! ❤️

    ReplyDelete
  31. Di ako maka move on lol pag napapanood ko interview video naiiyak ako. Yung hirap pagod ng ilang taon. But sooo so proud of you EJ!

  32. Its ok Ej we are still proud of you hugs!❤️

  33. Hindi ako athlete pero yes, frustrating talaga na ilang taon ka naghanda and your hopes are getting the medal. Tapos wala. Virtual hugs, EJ. We feel your pain and frustration. But we also feel the hard work you exerted. We'll see you sa next Olympics.

    2. Haha ang galing naman kasi ni Duplantis. Ask ko sino trainer nya lol

    3. Thats not the spirit of the Olympics.

    4. Matindi din kasi ang gene pool nun, family of athletes plus natural talent and the best training grounds in the US and Sweden. Effortless lumipad.

  35. Kudos also sa interviewer for his empathy

  36. Labyu EJ! It is okay to be sad, process yan. Naglinis na ako ng kwarto mo at iluluto ko all your favorites foods. Excited na ako sa pag-uwi mo

    ReplyDelete
  37. 4th in the world! That’s huge! Congrats EJ

    ReplyDelete
  38. Akala ko talaga maka-silver na tayo. Nalungkot ako for him. He is still world no. 2 at sobrang big achievement yun. Aside from his pole vaulting skill, bilib din ako sa pagka well spoken at galing nya magsulat ng essay. He is a smart athlete.

  41. Sa totoo lang mas inabangan ko talaga itong si EJ Obiena dahil mas matunog ang name niya, considering he’s the world’s top 2 pole vaulter. Kaya yung pagka panalo ni Carlos Yulo and pagka ligwak ni EJ was a big shocker for me!
