    2. Then he goes back to the Philippines with just a thank you. Sad reality of phil athletes, they end up with no govt support later.

  6. Magaling talaga ang pinoy. Masipag, madaling turuan, matiisin at higit sa lahat madasalin. Totoong maraming toxic pinoy traits pero sa tagal ko sa ibang bansa iba talaga ang lahing pinoy. Kahit saan mo ilagay parang kabote magsusurvive yan.

    4. 11:44 No. Its not our medal if ever na sya. Lets stop tracing our roots. Hindi Pilipinas ang nirepresent nya at hindi dahil sa race ang nakapagpanalo sa kanya - training, determination, discipline. Wag nating iundermine yung preparations ng mga athletes.

  66. The media wrote him off last year when he did badly in Europe. They, including his mother, blamed his girlfriend for him breaking off with his former coach. His mother used his earnings to build a house but not under his name. He went through a lot this year yet he proved himself a true champion by overcoming these obstacles. He deserves the gold.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Sana he will build a gymnastics school nationwide

    ReplyDelete
  68. So proud of Carlos. Totally deserved! I followed his journey since Tokyo. My daughter is a gymnast. I commented online and explained how important it is for a strong support system for every gymnast. People were so vile on him, esp about his gf. Blaming him about giving up his former coach.

Even into World Championships last year, ehen he did not qualify, people keep on bashing and lashing out on him.

So proud of his perseverance, despite all the lashing. I dont know how he handled all of that and still train for Paris qualification. But I was happy when he pursued and got more determined to get to Paris.

Gymnastics is a mental sport. I am so proud of him for inspiring a lot of Filipino to try and learn the sport. I see recent emergence of different gymnastics clubs in Philippines. I am proud of each and every gymnast who is into it. I know Yulo made them dream. He made the sport visible and doable for a lot of the younger Pinoys.

It is a year long sport. No rest. But Filipino's physicality is built for this sport. We have a huge future for this sport. We just need a good program like USAG. Filipinos can dominate this sport.

Again, more than congratulations, I would like to thank Yulo for inspiring the whole country. I hope and pray that you are always healthy and safe and may continue to inspire the little kids to DREAM and work hard.

    Congratulations Caloy, YOU DID IT!!
