ReplyDeleteMukhang scripted
DeleteScripted daw ? Pssst Hater gonna Hates
DeleteBasta maganda siya at seksi tapos
ReplyDeleteListen very “kerfully” lol. Madami naman pera why not invest on speech development
ReplyDeleteBec she doesnt find that important. She doesnt need to prove herself to anyone.
DeleteInnate n yun. Maski ikaw Pinoy accent k for sure π€£ maski nga yung nasa US for so many years Pinoy thick accent p rin what more if u r in pinas π€£
DeleteExactly my thoughts 4:47 sakit sa tenga diba.
Delete4:47 because you really don't need prefect diction to be successful
Delete4:47 Sigurado ako hindi ka din magandang magsalita.
DeleteHer fans find her relatable. Parte na ng branding nya yan
DeletePa-critic masyado.
May cut na sya tapos bigla na siyang may hawak ng ibang papel with the english translation. Keri lang naman un. Kwela naman un bawi nya. Pero hindi sya ang nag translate from tagalog to english kse may hawak syang ibang papel. Un!
Delete4:47 sus arte mo madaming tao sa mundo ang hindi marunong mag english, like koreans and japanese , pero die hard kpop fans at panay bakasyon sa japan kayo , pero pag pinoys ang hindi fluent sa english and dami nyo sinasabi . Ipokrito
DeleteArte naman, typical Pinoy.
DeleteFor sure Pinoy accent k rin π€£ Baka nga ask k ng how are you? Hirap k sumagot π€£
DeleteOnly in the Philippines judged ang tao dahil sa accent.
Delete7:22 many countries think that we are not that educated and we don't speak nor understand English. Ok lang sa kanila if we make mistakes in English but many of them laugh at or make fun of our English behind us. I witnessed it as they didn't know I was a Filipino. I was with some other Asians.
People are not defined by their accents. Only someone shallow like you would do that.
Deletenot everything is about money 11:39.

ReplyDeleteI think she could do better than that pero ginawa nyang kwela
DeleteAno kaya nararamdaman ni DD while watching his wife doing this?
Delete10:09 http://www.fashionpulis.com/2024/07/insta-scoop-dingdong-dantes-praises.html?m=1
DeleteActually there was nothing like that or whatsoever. Did you watch it live? We were there! She was looking at it to translate it on the spot. Her translation wasn't grammatically correct per se. If there was a translation as you said, it should've been flawless. Regardless, it was a fine translation.
DeleteHahaha! To be fair wala namang masama na di sya magaling mag english.
DeleteSo what?
DeleteSakto 4:54. Napansin ko din yan. Saka may cut sa video.
DeleteMy friend is one of the directors, there’s a readily available translation on the cue card.
Delete6:51 yes, you were there but nasa tabi ka ba niya or at least sa likod? It's obvious she's reading the English version. Nothing's wrong with that cz questions should be readied either in Tagalog or English version for a scenario like this.
DeleteThere's no pretense, ang galing ni Marian. She translated it not word by word. She is dumb like how other people are portraying her to be.
ReplyDeleteUmayos ka!
DeleteDid you see that she was reading it?
DeleteShe just read it. If you are asked to translate, you process it and say it, she was reading every part.
DeleteHoy, tagalugin mo na lang. Gulo mo!
DeleteI love her! She really showed those nasty people she can speak the language at all. I think the "problem" is that she wore braces before and that's causing the accent. Having said that, she's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteOk pero Pakialis muna ung “at all”
Delete455, please, braces has nothing to do with it. Only the S’s are affected by the braces. I used to wear one, so I know. And no, I’m not commenting about MR’s enunciation. I am just correcting your notion about braces affecting how we speak.
DeleteHahahhaha accent talaga?!ok na that you love her pero wag na gawan ng kwento. Ikaw talaga….
Delete4:55 At all. No at ate. Try again. Hahaha isa ka pa eh.
Delete10:59 you know what they said about birds of a feather… kaloka naman to si dzai na dahil sa braces kaya naging jejemon
DeleteNaiahon nya nman sarili nya as interpreter, pinoy mentality lng talaga ng bash yung way of interpretation nya ng tanong
Notice the size of the paper. Halata ding the paper was handed to her.
DeleteHindi yan kayang I translate ni Marian pag walang copy.
Delete7:20 ining kahit s Ms. U NAKA READY N
Deletestorypmalayp
ReplyDeleteI bet when she’s in other countries, they will just dismiss her as having a cute accent and not even mind her grammar or pronunciation.
ReplyDeleteNo one will criticize her but it would be really hard for native speakers to understand her, much like other nationalities with strong accent like scottish etc
DeleteApportunity.π Hwag nalang talaga mag english.π
Sa mga english speaking countries it is not a big deal. Employees nga of a certain higher positions have imperfect English, kung mabasa niyo lang ang emails, but people do not make it a big deal. In fact, these people actually produces better output in terms of job productivity and achievements
ReplyDeleteTrue. Then pag nasa ibang bansa lagi sabi nose bleed. Wrong grammar din wrong pronunciation yung nang hanash sila yung mali2 mag English for sure. Hihihi go Marian I love u
DeleteWell said, only in the Philippinew napakajudgemental
DeleteEven British people themselves do not know the spelling, or what words to use. On two occasions, my british colleague kept looking for me to finally write what she wanted to say kasi I can find better words daw or I know what something is called. May ibang britons na di alam ang correct words na “should have”, they write it as should of.
Grabe kayo!
ReplyDeleteInggit
DeleteInvest nalang sa speech therapy and pronunciation lessons lol
ReplyDeleteAlmost Perfect na
Delete6:42 sa laki ng kita nya, she will just invest her time making more money and investing her money in real estate, etc. Sayang lang pera nya. English is not relevant in her career….she can talk, why does she need speech therapy? She doesn’t the English language to make money, Tagalog ang mga scripts nya.
DeleteMauna k ay wala k budget for sure
DeleteDear, speech therapy is given to people woth difficulty speaking, usually kids who began talking late irregardless of language. Also applicable to people who has stroke and had to learn to speak again.
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry i just found the guy’s answer on youtube. Does he not understand tagalog because foreigner or because he speaks a regional dialect? I can’t hear an accent so i’m not sure
ReplyDeleteApart from kerfully, which is easy to mispronounce, pag nagmamadali ka, okay naman pagbasa nya. Ang choosy ng netizens. Pero english din talaga ang weakness nya and that’s okay
ReplyDeletedis pati ang this.
Lol.
DeleteTrue! Go Marian
DeleteCuteeee
ReplyDeleteLove her! Nag iisang Queen Marian!!! π«‘π«ΆπΌ
ReplyDeleteThere’s a ready English version of the question. Did you see the back of the first paper there were prints. Second paper is blank at the back for the English cue card.
ReplyDeleteAno ba! May binasa na English translation. Kaloka!
DeleteScripted π
ReplyDeletesinong foreigner ba yan at kailangan pa itranslate sa english. bakit hindi nag-aral magtagalog?
ReplyDeleteGraduate ba yan ng Psychology?, di manlang inaral ang english at grammar nya- what if its other way around.?
DeleteI love Marian!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking skills are worth developing! Marian, you have the means and access to hire pros that could help you hone this weak area of your communication. Gulatin mo na lang lahat!
ReplyDeleteTotoo. I had a workmate who invested on this kasi dati medyo awkward sya magsalita. Talaga naman hanep din ang naging effect sa kanya and her confidence. Dati parang nauutal during presentations kasi nahihiya, nahahalo ang short and long e, tapos meron din ganyan k marian na hirap sa soft th and hard th, plus may p/f and b/v issue. After, naging very neutral ang accent at nakakabilib sa presentations, papunta na sa pang cnn haha, parang ibang tao. Nakakaimpress lang how she really tried to improve herself.
DeletePara saan pa? When she’s already THAT succesful. Tigilan nyo yan.
DeleteNasa Pilipinas tayo bakit niya kailangan makinig s iyo
It’s still a “plus” for her if she improves her speech. Don’t be a snob to learning and improvement.
Delete9:49 That is impressive indeed. Another one that should work on her comm skills is Pia Wurtzbach, mas kailangan nya yun compared to Marian because she has to mingle and do interviews with international press and high society.
DeleteI know she's kalog but her way of speaking isn't even at par of her being a La Sallian graduate. Sayang!
ReplyDeleteBakit sayang?
DeleteFor someone who studied in private schools from elementary to college, sablay nga ang comm skills nya.
DeleteBaka iba pag Dasma vs Taft
DeleteKonyo people I know are from Taft, yung mga tiga Dasma ay typical CaviteΓ±os magsalita
7:51 at least nakagradweyt at La Sallian! Very successful. How about you??
DeleteLa Salle Dasma siya teh. Parehas ng mga kapatid ko. Pag La Salle Dasma or ibang branches ng La Salle hindi sila mahilig mag English. Even Benilde hindi mahilig mag English.
DeleteSa St. Francis sya nag-aral ng elementary at high school and those are the formative years para mahasa ang student sa speaking at grammar. Don't blame La Salle.
DeleteTama naman ang english niya. Very pinoy accent nga lang. Ang importante naparating niya yung gusti niya sabihin. Parang mejo nag buntong hininga pa siya mukhang kinabahan. Hahaha
ReplyDeleteMay Mali she used become instead of became which is the right word.
It has been a long journey for you pero you owe this to your followers.
ReplyDeleteAnd most importantly herself. I can see that she’s smart. It would really help if she tried to improve. She has all the means naman to do it. She can even hire a teacher to do it privately para hindi kita ng buong class if she’s shy.
DeleteHer followers accepted her as she is, she doesnt need to pretend, echo on the other hand faking himself as an alta kaya dapat pati accent nya pang alta
DeleteBakyang bakya kaya masa itong babaeng ito e
ReplyDeleteHindi funny.
Who acres about English spokening when you’re winning in life.
DeleteEnglish is a prime language for Pinas. The accent and delivery matters for our country, kahit ano pa sabihin nyo.
DeleteGrabe naman sa "matters for our country". Japan and Korea are first world countries kahit waley pa rin english nila until now.
DeleteNo it does not matter. You’re too shallow.
DeleteSus for sure Pinoy accent k din
Delete*matter, not matters.
Delete@8pm, you mentioned 2 nouns "accent" and "delivery", then you used singular form of verb "matters". Magaling ka nga sa English.
DeleteAno ang mas pipiliin mo? Maging maganda or maging confident at magaling mag english?
DeleteOf course , MAGANDA at Mayaman
DeleteMaganda besh! Effortless pag maganda. Pag matalino lang need pa mag effort.
DeleteAng maging maganda. Panalo ka na sa genetic lottery. Lol.
DeleteMaging maganda. Kasi magaling naman ako mag English eh.
DeleteIn marian’s case, pwede naman both. Maganda na magaling pa magsalita. If she just chooses the path towards self improvement
DeleteSino ba yong contestant at nanghingi pa ng English translation? The way he asked for it hindi rin naman mukhang English ang first language niya kaloka
ReplyDeleteI’m based in Canada for more than a decade, I don’t see anything wrong with how Marian translated or said it. Pero ang puti, purihin ka pa at sabihin “you speak English well, how do Filipinos do that?”
ReplyDeleteSa abroad ba lumaki yung guy or is he from the province? Easily understood and basic lang naman yung tagalog question. I hope parents put a stop to this notion na English lang ang acceptable na language sa mga anak nila. There is an advantage to being multilingual and knowing our local languages too.
Weird at cringe. One of those families ay markado nang social climbers sa akin, and they probably thought na pag inglisero anak nila e... 'sushal'. Needless to say, not friends with them anymore ever since ginamit lang ako at lahat ng kaalaman ko. Story aside, yes, social climbing any way they can since the 90s... english speaking kids and frappuccinos.
DeleteI used to nitpick on her grammar and pronunciation years ago but you know what, when you age, napakaliit na bagay na ng mga ganyan para husgahan kabuuan ng pagkatao. Meron naman syang ibang strong points, maganda, may spunk at may personality. Street smart naman din. Magaling na artista din naman so I'd say she's earned her stripes.
She's successful already kung want nya mag improve ung english nya she can take classes, pero di naman ganun ka required un. Maarte lang talaga pinoy.. pero ung mga korean na halos di makaintindi ng english faney na faney dun, magsalita lang ng "i love you i miss you", " so happy to be here in the ph" etc akala mo diyos na gustong sambahin.. hayyy pinoy mindset nga naman
ReplyDeleteKailangan nya during times like this na need mag-ingles
DeleteAng ganda nya juice ko
ReplyDeleteWalang finesse! Kaloka!!
Love your accent nga daw.
ReplyDeleteI think Marian handled that gracefully. It was not perfect, but humorous. Pero when I heard it in the news, natawa ako.
ReplyDeleteIm in Canada and basta ako i dont care about my accent as long as my english and grammar is correct, and I dont really mind repeating myself if the other person doesnt understand me. I just dont want to effort pa to sound slang kapagod lng
ReplyDeleteReading the comments here and no wonder ganito pa din ang Pinas. Very colonial mentality.
ReplyDeleteGo Yan! π₯ ππ
ReplyDeleteOk lang di maganda ang accent in English as long as you're rich, beautiful and have a successful career.
ReplyDeleteMas ok sana kung rich, beautiful and have a auccessful career tapos maganda pa mag salita.
DeleteHindi naman one or the other. Why choose between being successful and having a good accent kung pwede naman both.
Beside ok nman pagkabasa niya. Punta kayo s Japan at korea
ReplyDeleteTruth. Nanalo ba sya? ππ
DeleteParang scripted nga eh. Baka talagang nagpapatawa lang sila.
DeleteShe’s built a happy home for herself, husband, and children. That’s more than what we can say about some of the fluent and affluent. :)
DeletePeople will always have something to say. π€·π»♀️
ReplyDeleteFor our country lang lol
Charot!
ReplyDeleteNevah! In America we do not care about the grammar nor Sofia hahaha
DeletePenoys doing penoy things again :) :) :) Only in penas where not knowing the local language is the bestest :D :D :D You know why? ;) ;) ;) Because speaking english makes you the one eyed king in the land of the blinds :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteWe all know naman na weakness yan ni Marian, may mali sa grammar but understandable naman, no need na gawing katatawanan sya
ReplyDeleteSana she acted normal na lang and did not try to sound funny. Para may grammar slips man o wala, the audience will not laugh.
DeleteAre you redy for this, listen very kerfuly! Ako nahiya para sa kanya. Oh well you can’t have it all π₯΄
ReplyDeleteShe was actually given a script to read.
Take it as constructive criticism kesa kung anu anong excuses at rason ang sinasabi.
Ses, we are an english speaking country. Not necessarily english accent country. What’s wrong with speaking in english in pinoy accent? They’re successful and accent not an issue, at work or in their personal lives. English speaking doesn’t mean perfect grammar or pronunciation. Basta we can understand english better than other countries in asia, ganern yun.
She has the means to improve naman, so what’s stopping her? It’s like she’s making a stand towards not improving oneself.
DeletePero yung ibang artistang nag eenglish nilalait nyo no!
Kung nasa line of work mo na you need that universal American accented English para maintindihan ka sa kabilang linya you have to learn and have it, pero para mag pa impress lang sa ibang tao nasa sayo nayan.
ReplyDeleteBased on the comments here, it made me understand kung bakit patok si marian sa masa. Marami kasing nakakarelate sakanya.
Give her the credit naman. Grabe kayo parang ang peperfect nyong tao.
ReplyDeleteParang scripted. Haha. May mali rin talaga sa grammar pero gets ko naman na it was meant to be funny. I like her confidence though! At least she is not pretentious gaya nung ibang artista na nag fefeeling alta at smart kaya trying hard mag english.
ReplyDeleteSexy nga nung accent eh. Parang si Sofia Vergara lang.
ReplyDeleteMARIAN WAS ABLE TO CONVEY HER MESSAGE. THAT’S ENOUGH. SHE IS MORE BEAUTIFUL AND RICHER THAN 90% OF US. SO LET’S JUST SHUT UP.
ReplyDeleteSalma Hayek/Penelope Cruz they have the thickest accent. But they are the most successful. Only in the Philippines do I find people making fun of others for speaking a non native language. Colonialism mentality and crab mentality combined. I live in the US and nobody cares if you speak fluently I mean some that are born here don’t even have the proper diction. Tagalog ho tayo lol
ReplyDeleteI live here in a country where we have diversity. Iba bai kami. Yung mga asians especially Chinese and Indians, they really have thick accents pero they can communicate using English and the white people are fine with it. Talagang kandapilipit sila nila Kasi pinipilit magka accent like white people, nonsense Naman mga sinasabi.
ReplyDeleteOk lng yan kasi kung magaling pa sya mag English eh perfect na sya. Nobody is perfect.
ReplyDeleteI'm really a huge fan of this woman. She's drop dead gorgeous, witty, she seems smart, always advocated education, seems like a great mother and wife, especially a great daughter/apo. Plus, she's not pretentious!
ReplyDelete
