    16. Only in the Philippines judged ang tao dahil sa accent.

    17. 7:22 many countries think that we are not that educated and we don't speak nor understand English. Ok lang sa kanila if we make mistakes in English but many of them laugh at or make fun of our English behind us. I witnessed it as they didn't know I was a Filipino. I was with some other Asians.

Only someone shallow like you would do that.

Her translation wasn't grammatically correct per se. If there was a translation as you said, it should've been flawless. Regardless, it was a fine translation.

      Delete
    3. Hahaha! To be fair wala namang masama na di sya magaling mag english.

    6. 6:51 yes, you were there but nasa tabi ka ba niya or at least sa likod? It's obvious she's reading the English version. Nothing's wrong with that cz questions should be readied either in Tagalog or English version for a scenario like this.

Dati parang nauutal during presentations kasi nahihiya, nahahalo ang short and long e, tapos meron din ganyan k marian na hirap sa soft th and hard th, plus may p/f and b/v issue. After, naging very neutral ang accent at nakakabilib sa presentations, papunta na sa pang cnn haha, parang ibang tao. Nakakaimpress lang how she really tried to improve herself.

    5. 9:49 That is impressive indeed. Another one that should work on her comm skills is Pia Wurtzbach, mas kailangan nya yun compared to Marian because she has to mingle and do interviews with international press and high society.

We all know naman na weakness yan ni Marian, may mali sa grammar but understandable naman, no need na gawing katatawanan sya

  61. Sana she acted normal na lang and did not try to sound funny. Para may grammar slips man o wala, the audience will not laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  64. She was actually given a script to read.

Take it as constructive criticism kesa kung anu anong excuses at rason ang sinasabi.

    1. Ses, we are an english speaking country. Not necessarily english accent country. What’s wrong with speaking in english in pinoy accent? They’re successful and accent not an issue, at work or in their personal lives. English speaking doesn’t mean perfect grammar or pronunciation. Basta we can understand english better than other countries in asia, ganern yun.

    2. This! She has the means to improve naman, so what’s stopping her? It’s like she’s making a stand towards not improving oneself.

    3. Pero yung ibang artistang nag eenglish nilalait nyo no!

Kung nasa line of work mo na you need that universal American accented English para maintindihan ka sa kabilang linya you have to learn and have it, pero para mag pa impress lang sa ibang tao nasa sayo nayan.

  70. Based on the comments here, it made me understand kung bakit patok si marian sa masa. Marami kasing nakakarelate sakanya.

Give her the credit naman. Grabe kayo parang ang peperfect nyong tao.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Parang scripted. Haha. May mali rin talaga sa grammar pero gets ko naman na it was meant to be funny. I like her confidence though! At least she is not pretentious gaya nung ibang artista na nag fefeeling alta at smart kaya trying hard mag english.

  74. Sexy nga nung accent eh. Parang si Sofia Vergara lang.

  75. MARIAN WAS ABLE TO CONVEY HER MESSAGE. THAT’S ENOUGH. SHE IS MORE BEAUTIFUL AND RICHER THAN 90% OF US. SO LET’S JUST SHUT UP.

  76. Salma Hayek/Penelope Cruz they have the thickest accent. But they are the most successful. Only in the Philippines do I find people making fun of others for speaking a non native language. Colonialism mentality and crab mentality combined. I live in the US and nobody cares if you speak fluently I mean some that are born here don’t even have the proper diction. Tagalog ho tayo lol

    ReplyDelete
  77. I live here in a country where we have diversity. Iba bai kami. Yung mga asians especially Chinese and Indians, they really have thick accents pero they can communicate using English and the white people are fine with it. Talagang kandapilipit sila nila Kasi pinipilit magka accent like white people, nonsense Naman mga sinasabi.

  78. Ok lng yan kasi kung magaling pa sya mag English eh perfect na sya. Nobody is perfect.

  79. I'm really a huge fan of this woman. She's drop dead gorgeous, witty, she seems smart, always advocated education, seems like a great mother and wife, especially a great daughter/apo. Plus, she's not pretentious!
