    6. Quebec is more French so may French ties much like HK/Singapore had British ties and we have American ones.

    1. Lip sync or not. She’s good. Having that sickness requires so much effort and will to perform that song in front of so many people.

    2. shes 70 years old

    3. 2:44 all performances were pre recorded to avoid technical issues that was the one we saw on broadcast but on the actual venue itself she sung live.

      Delete
Yes there was a precorded in case she couldn't make it but Cèline insisted to sing live.

  8. She’s the highlight of the opening night.

    1. 7:11 on the contrary a lot of vocal coaches are saying that her mic was on and she was singing live. Also naka in ear monitor siya to make sure her pitch and timing is correct.

    2. 7:11 yes there was a pre recorded version but Cèline insisted to sing live according to the musical director.

  11. I sat through the whole opening ceremony.

Genuine question since I haven’t watched it

But I'm glad, kumanta sya. She's part of my childhood and adolescence music life.

    3. True!

    4. Korek!! After Beijing, London, Rio, Tokyo and now Paris (which is the worst) hindi na nila mapantayan yung grandeur ng Beijing opening.

    5. Zhang Yimou directed the Beijing Olympics. I've seen his films Hero (Jet Li) and Curse of the Golden Flower (Chow Yun Fat) so na-gets ko si friend. Visually stunning ang productions ni Zhang Yimou.

    6. 6:01 if you do not know French history then you would not appreciate the opening ceremony.

Very wrong and evil- they mock Jesus and Christianity. Stop supporting or watching olympics!

    1. She is and there's no cure kasi it's neurological disease. Pain medications and therapy lang ang puwedeng gawin.

  13. I noticed puro Dior yung soot ng hollywood attendees, even Celine Dion in this performance. Tamang pabango lang ng image after the bag controversy

  14. Yung lighting of cauldron ay hndi maganda. Pinakamaganda pa rin ng Cauldron lighting ay Nung 1992 Barcelona Olympics, with that bow and arrow.

    1. Nakakakaba yun actually. Hit or miss.

      Delete

      Delete
    3. 12:31 it was an intentional miss hehe. There was a video of a different angle which showed that the arrow just went over but did not land inside the cauldron, kundi outside the stadium. They just made it appear that it landed in the cauldron from a certain angle. Galing parin!

      Delete
    4. 6:03 the arrow did not light the cauldron they just made it appear like that.

      Delete
    5. The intention was that the arrow should only pass at the top of the cauldron where the mass of gas to start the fire is.

    2. It was not even "The Last Supper" it was ancient Greek Bachannal, because you know, Oympics started. in Greece.

  23. Di ko bet opening olympics maganda sya sa TV pero imagine if andun ka sa paris to watch it live gastos sa ticket for opening tapos manuod lang karamihan sa LED screen sa ibat ibang ganap ng opening. Sana sa isang stadium nalang pwede namN mapaganda just like the London one tumalong ang si Queen E!

  24. Napanood ko yung documentary sa Amazon Prime video about sa kanya and her sickness… buti na lang she’s able to come back na. Good for her!

  25. too bad it was overshadowed by that disgusting mockery of the last supper and kids near a trans with balls exposed.... one of the most disappointing opening ceremony of the Olympics

    1. Seriously? It was a nod to Ancient Greece Bachannal. Olympics started in Greece, you know that right?

      Delete
    2. 9:50 it was not the Last Supper my god, it was Greek Bacchannal. Yung blue guy with grapes is Bachus the god of wine. Why Greece? Because Greece is the birthplace of the Olympics. Free naman mag Google at mag research compete with image.

    3. 1052 & 1102 it was combined with the last supper, one performer admitted it that's why they issue an apology

      Delete
    4. 3:11 It was not even an apology. And did you see the performer's post "admitting" it was last supper? Read between the lines it was so sarcastic.
