When I was changing citizenship here in US, I was asked if I want to change name. Im still carrying my 1st husbands last name kase kahit divorced na kami.
This is a perfect case as to why divorce should be legalized in the Philippines. Imagine this man cannot marry her. They have together longer than Lian's marriage to Paolo. If something happens to Lian's current partner, she isn't recognized at all by law.
