more of toxic diversity for me, sorry. magaling naman yung mga artista pero yung ganitong show para sa akin ay product ng toxic diversity na prevalent ngayon sa US at UK. historical romance daw e, pero by injecting diversity sa mga ganitong project, diba parang ini-expunged natin yung nangyaring racism nuon, in this case regency era sa UK (the years between 1795 to 1837). by polishing roles of black and asian characters sa mga period movies, parang nababastos yung totoong pinagdaanan ng mga ancestors natin sa kamay ng mga europeans. as late as 1904, tribal filipinos were even use as exhibits in so called human zoos in international fairs in the US.
@637 I agree with you. I find maganda Yun story ng Bridgeton Pero it's not really historically accurate. Nakaka eng eng lang Yun miscast. Magaling nga Yun mga actors though.
Congrats to both! Love to read Bradwell's suggestion for his character's name change were warmly received by the production staff (hint hint Pinoy writers!)
Di ba history should be told in accordance with the truth? The Ton has never had 'diverse' ethnicity. Parang Philippine movie lang yan kung saan ang mga characters ay puti o ibang lahi. Is this equality or historical misrepresentation? I am all for diversity, but not to the extent that it endangers the truth of history.
It’s a Shonda adaptation so ganyan. I enjoyed the books. Haven’t seen the series. Di naman talaga aim ng series to be truthful. Kahit yung books naman. I don’t think they aim to give history lessons. Hayaan mo na. Madami naman nag eenjoy.
They never claimed to be historically accurate naman. Sa akin its refreshing to see representation, and different races treated equally. If someone who watches the show then thinks that this is what happened in history and that slavery and colonialism arent real, then i'm afraid its the fault of the educational system, not the show.
Nag-work ang diversity sa series na to kasi na establish nila sa first episode at season pa lang na it is an interpretation of what it would be like in the victorian era kung diverse ang mga tao. They also used modern pop music na may victorian feel. And it is a fictional story.
sabi ng production, historical romance eto, fictional lang yung story hindi biographical ok. so kung may intl movie about jose rizal tapos yung cast si benedict cumberbatch ok lang? or movie about kay nelson mandela tapos si jackie chan gumanap maganda panoorin? i don't think so no.
people are confusing history vs historical fiction movies & television series. historical fiction is fiction based on historical events, or, at least, set in a past era of history (but written at a later period of history). history is what actually happened, or, at least, what we believe actually happened based on the available evidence.
Great, excited to see Penn here after everything that happened to her at sana bukod sa love story nila, magkabati narin sila ni Elouise. Akala ko magiging GL sila dati lol
For me lang, kung yung story involves a time period, kahit fiction yung story sana yung race ng actors swak din. Hindi yung mala United Colors of Benetton. On another note, yung Cinderella ni Brandy and Whitney, sadyang diverse cast din yun pero somehow it worked dahil it was really reimagined. Ito may queen na black actress set in UK, reaching lang sobra.
1:36 labo mo. Reimagined Cinderella is valid pero ito hindi? Why not? Eh reimagined din naman ito. Not real history, just gawa-gawa fantasy nonsense. Costumes pa lang halata na that this is not supposed to be a real period piece. Nagpatugtog pa nga sila ng BTS eh LOL
Bridgerton is not based on history. It is a fictional story, kathang isip lang kaya don’t take it seriously, kung di kayo agree sa diverse na cast then don’t watch. Baka nagreklamo din kayo sa Game of Thrones dati na di real dragon ang ginamit sa set, lol…
Galing diversity!!

DeleteNatawa ako, saan kaya nakuha ni 441 na may accordance with history ang Bridgerton? Diba fictional story yan. Lol
