It therefore begs the question: Is there a hidden agenda? Just wondering.

Bakit "opinons"? Fyi, these opinions that have been accumulated all these years are based on experiences of the people who worked with him. 1.28am opinions are subjective and not facts. Creatives are by nature sensitive and some, as in the case of Tabora it seems, want to exercise their creative freedom without being questioned or challenged. Xian is a curious person and likes to understand the workings of the business. He took Ricki Lee's scriptwiting course and has written/co-written scripts for 3 movies at least and commercials. Perhaps what irks these writers is the fact that someone like Xian should be given a chance to explore all these areas when they've chosen to focus on one or two. Sounds like professional envy is in play and it's ugly.
Maybe it's just me - but isn't it unprofessional of the writer as well to post something like that in public. Creatives deal with difficult creatives all the time. That's part of the business. You're hired by a company to work with other talent. Not everyone will be happy with your work. Someone will always critique your work. Publicly badmouthing someone is not a good look. Maybe this writer has an ego just as big as the person he is publicly criticizing. Tact and discretion are qualities that are hard to come by these days.
The writer can talk like that because he's not with GMA anymore and is now based in Australia. The Kim and Kimpau fans are now befriending him on IG so they can get more dirt from the guy.

I've worked with three writers in the past. Long term, as in years na katabi sila (production). I must say, artists/actors may be difficult to work with, but it's part of their process. A people pleasing artist is usually a mediocre artist. On the other hand, writers... most have a superiority complex because kaya nilang sirain with mere words ang kahit sino man, both fictional or real. The artist simply performs, yung writer ang nagfafabricate.

ReplyDeleteConsistent talaga ang attitude problem chismis sa kanya over the years, then ang palusot introvert daw. Feeling brilliant at intellectual talaga to si guy pero mediocre naman sa skills. I still remember nilamon sya sa aktingan sa movie nila ni Cristine and there were issues about him, na kahit anong piga ng direktor he could not deliver the required emotions.

One or two negative feedbacks, pwede pa, especially if he was only new in showbiz back then. But hearing it all throughout the years in this stage of his career just goes to show that he hasn't changed. It only proves that he really is an arrogant person. Yung time na sinabi niyang "Enough about Kim", yun pa lang, arogante na ang dating niya while talking about the person he's been with for over a decade. What more pa kaya sa working environment when people can openly witness his attitude??

Creatives are by nature sensitive and some, as in the case of Tabora it seems, want to exercise their creative freedom without being questioned or challenged. Xian is a curious person and likes to understand the workings of the business. He took Ricki Lee's scriptwiting course and has written/co-written scripts for 3 movies at least and commercials. Perhaps what irks these writers is the fact that someone like Xian should be given a chance to explore all these areas when they've chosen to focus on one or two. Sounds like professional envy is in play and it's ugly.

ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just me - but isn't it unprofessional of the writer as well to post something like that in public. Creatives deal with difficult creatives all the time. That's part of the business. You're hired by a company to work with other talent. Not everyone will be happy with your work. Someone will always critique your work. Publicly badmouthing someone is not a good look. Maybe this writer has an ego just as big as the person he is publicly criticizing. Tact and discretion are qualities that are hard to come by these days.

ReplyDeleteI've worked with three writers in the past. Long term, as in years na katabi sila (production). I must say, artists/actors may be difficult to work with, but it's part of their process. A people pleasing artist is usually a mediocre artist. On the other hand, writers... most have a superiority complex because kaya nilang sirain with mere words ang kahit sino man, both fictional or real. The artist simply performs, yung writer ang nagfafabricate.
