No Regard for Fan Effort

Whenever Young Actor (YA) appears onscreen, the public sees the boy any parent would love to be his/her son-in-law. YA is successful in his endeavors. Although his acting was initially dismissed, he worked hard to improve. Soon, his network noticed his efforts and trusted him with roles. YA found the experiences rewarding. Not only did he earn praise for his acting, he also won the hearts of many fans, female and male alike.

YA was not content with showbiz. He pursued his other passions and ventured into various money-making activities to ensure he had a fallback when the time comes that his star fades. Looks like his decisions were correct, as YA’s pursuits led to more achievements.

Sadly, incidents that could turn-off fans have been leaked and many fans of YA are bound to be disappointed. Allegedly, YA does not value the efforts of his fans. Other than patronizing the projects of their idols, fans have many creative ways to show their loyalty and appreciation. They spend money for gifts, time and effort to make personalized items for their idols. The fans of YA are no different. They give him stuff they think could make him smile and appreciate their efforts. Alas, at the end of YA is the exact opposite.

Someone claimed that YA threw out into the garbage the gifts fans gave him. This move was quite shocking because YA did not even do it privately or ensure that no one would see what he had done. Fan effort gone wasted. Incidentally, others claim YA has a different personality when the cameras are off. He’s indifferent, aloof, and unfriendly. So much for his boy-next-door image.

‘Personality is only ripe when a man has made the truth his own.’ — Soren Kierkegaard

  1. Kasi naman, stop giving gifts to people na hindi mo kanuano. Sorry victim blaming ang dating, wake up call lang. Some artistas are so full of themselves, save na lang your money and adoration for someone worthyz.

    1. Totoo naman. Sobrang iniidolo kasi nila mga yan but they don’t even know the person. On screen roles lang nakikita nila di yung totoo

    2. I agree. And these celebrities are paid big bucks. They are more than capable to buy any material things they need or want. Like when fans give stuffed toys to celebrities…do they seriously think that the actors/actresses keep and hug them. Nagtatapon lang ng pera. If they want to show their love and support, then simply follow and watch their projects. Tapos.

    3. Stop giving gifts and pasalubong kamag anak man or hindi.

Give money na lang or lotto tickets for occassions if talagang giver.

Aminin natin at some point kalat lang natatatanggap natin. I stopped getting souvenirs din sa mga kasal kasi kalat lang (and I discourage din couples giving souvenirs lalo
      if there are photos).

    4. 7:16 same tayo.

    1. Madaming pera idol nila, reregaluhan pa nila. Feeling nila mapapaclose sila sa idol nila dahil sa pagreregalo? Mga kulang sa isip. May young singer ilang beses nagconcert dito sa US. Bata as bata pa sya nun. Pag may concert yung bata, pinapaalam samin so mabilis kame makabili ng tickets.Yung leader ng group, nanghihingi ng pambili ng macbook ng bata kasi magugustuhan daw ng bata for sure yun. Ay hindi ako nagbigay. #1 may pera yun pambili ng macbook, bat ako magmamaganda magambag pangregalo? #2 makalikom man ng funds pambili ng regalo, sino ba kikilalanin for the gift? E di yung leader lang. Tapos tinetext ako pag may concert yung bata sa Pinas. Taga US ako ha. Kako e di ako uuwi ng Pinas just to watch the concert.

To the receiver... Next time, ipasa agad sa handler/assistant/yaya/driver. Bigyan ng clear instruction na itago muna, then sa bahay na isegregate or sunugin.

  8. I never understood the need for fans to give such gifts to their faves. Pati nga sa kpop it's such an issue. These artists rarely keep these things. The one I definitely don't get are the fans who spend so much money to give them expensive gifts when these artists can buy their own stuff. Might as well just use that money to donate to a charity or cause the artist supports. At least win-win situation yan and you still help others in need.

  9. Ang nangyayari kasi is nagkakaroon ng parasocial relationships lalo na with social media. With the work that they do tas maraming celebs ma share pa sa soc med so feeling ng mga fans eh close sila ng celebrity na idol nila.
YA should hire a good assistant to handle these things. Gifts and other useful items can be donated and others can be discreetly thrown.

I’m a minimalist and I am also guilty of throwing gifts away. Di naman kasi ako nagpapabango or gumagamit ng scented candles eh panay yun ang gift every year. Mas maganda food or gift card na lang.

    ReplyDelete
  17. One would throw something important one buys at some point, why not something useless? It is called cleaning up. Baka lang so useless it has to be thrown immediately. Harsh I know pero sometimes things we give are not really that useful and instead clogs the place. What if a hundred fans do the same? Even friends do that with good intention and I honestly throw away after a week.

    ReplyDelete
Isipin mo if you get on average 1 per day (kasi for sure may days na wala, but if may event siguro 10-20 na re-receive ng mga yan). 365 gifts a year. And I'm sure most of it are nice and cute things lang but walang practical use. Lalaki tong nasa BI.

  19. This is J na hindi ako nagagwapuhan🤣

  24. Sinech itey? Anyway, sana naiisip din ng mga members ng kahit na ano at sinong fandom na giving gifts to their idol na mas mayaman pa sa atin is pointless. Ibili nyo na lang ng bigas or itulong sa mga pamilya nyo or sa mga nangangailangan. We can show them that we appreciate them by liking their posts, follow them sa socmed, or anything na hindi gagastos.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Pwede nya ipunin then idonate.

Hayy, we need to pray for them, for these people.

  31. They have low self-esteem and yearning to be loved and wanted . Yes , let’s pray for them to find love for themselves . Let us keep on saving for our future and don’t waste money for those celebrities. In this time or uncertainty, we have to keep on saving even we feel like we already set for life .

    ReplyDelete
  32. I’m glad I’m not into celebrities . I like the songs of this and that singer or I love to watch quality movies but I never yearn wanting to meet them or fangirling. Ang dami ko nang nakitang artista like when I was eating in restaurants mostly at the Manila Pen , Rockwell , Greenbelt when I was still living there . Like halos katabi lang . Pero I never had the desire to ask for photos . Sila pa nga ang unang nag hi hi and I hi back . They are just people who are just like us .

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  34. The network also protect these actors to maintain the image for profit. Pero madalas malayo sila sa totoong buhay

    ReplyDelete
  35. Fans should get into their nerves. Sana marealize nila na these celebrities or artista are just here for the SHOW, kaya nga SHOWbiz eh. Pinagkakakitaan nila Yan. At tuwang tuwa Naman Ang mga Management nila Kasi dun sila kumukuha ng pera nila.

    ReplyDelete
Weird.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I suggest that fans instead organize a charity in the name of their favorite celebrity. Mas may value pa at di matatapon. Kaya lang it seems that what some fans want is validation like a picture showing off their gift or a thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I have a feeling it’s the Gen Z na D. Parating may photos videos ng mga fans nagbibigay ng regalo sa kanya.
