Third world countries complaining about the most trivial things in life. Did the world become a better place? Are there no hungry people anymore? Also, associating it with witchcraft? This is not even 'jumping to conclusion'. It's mental retardation. Remind me again why I don't watch beauty pageants.
You missed their point. It’s about being sensitive to their culture. Other cultures don’t want to be touched and value their personal space. And clearly wala ka nun
You're so dense. Just the other day, someone touched my hair and I felt so self-conscious. inaayos niya yung hair ko but she shouldnt have done that because my hair is fixed according to how it is. when I was in HS i used to use a lot of hairspray and would NOT take it lightly if someone touched my hair. Even my husband ANNOYS me to hell when he "fixes" my hair when he doesnt know how I want it to look and I have no mirror to guide me so he knows better now. I am very particular about my hair and makeup artist, so much so for my wedding I probably, at a time when makeup artists were only p5k to p8k at most, I did trial makeup with SEVERAL makeup artists spending maybe p20k to p30k to find that perfect one and my issue was always hair. YOU DONT touch people's hair. there is a familiarity to that. and NEVER at a world stage. It is like a social etiquette that apparently many people are not aware. If you will touch people's hair, you ASK permission. Just that simple gesture of going into someone's personal space requires permission be obtained FIRST. It was wrong.
Hahahaha, kaya nga sikat lang ang pageant sa 3rd world countries like Africa and Pilipinas eh. Nakakaloka! Witchcraft talaga, hindi ba pwedeng invasion of privacy. Nakakaloka! 😂
3:30 You don't have the right to diagnose anyone of being mentally retarded if that is not your profession and expertise. That is not only a simple opinion. Mental Health should be taken seriously. You're so full of yourself so you're downgrading other people's belief, tradition and culture by questioning their mental condition. Yes, you shouldn't watch beauty pageant. May I suggest, don't travel to other countries if you are not willing to respect other cultures and diversities.
Someone touched your hair and ang reaction ay, "Please be culturally sensitive." And it's not even about touching hair or touching someone, like seriously, witchcraft agad? And such a heavy accusation sa isang napakasimpleng bagay such as beauty pageant?
Kaya masyado silang sensitive.
5:14 not taga africa but lives in different countries and have coworkers na africans kaya i know how to be more sensitive to their cultures and they are very particular with their hair. And most of them believe in voodoo and evil eye and intentions kaya meghans gesture are a no no to them. Ikaw ano alam mo about other cultures?
Just shows how a lot of marites here are ignorant about cultural sensitivity. A good example is how pinoys are sensitive when it comes to how Benny Blanco reacted to the Jollibee spaghetti.
11:23 have you been in the training? kasi the ones ive been arent talking about any extreme "wokeness" at all, it's just basic respect for other cultures.
6:00 common sense please , 3:30 is not diagnosing anyone of mental retardation. 3:30 said it in a context that someone’s brain is stagnant and not progressive thinking. Oh my god ! Try reading comprehension sometimes.
7:25 Doesn't he/she have better terms instead of using "mental retardation" which is a sensitive mental condition? And you are so insensitive by defending this person. You're the ones who need to use their brains and also be KIND and sensitive at times. Before questioning a person's comprehension, why don't you ask yourself if you have that? And again, include sensitivity. Oh My God to you too!
I am so shocked Megan did this considering how intensive ng training nila as beauty queens and she actually won Miss World. How would she like if it this was done to her esp. tense na tense na yung moment. She was making the person feel even more vulnerable and exposed than she already felt kasi inayos niya kuno but what if gumulo o pumanget yung tao. It is just like I am not touching your hair because I am giving you that respect Do not fix or correct me in public without my permission unless it is clearly an emergency like a broken dress or a hole or something. Even with this, we see stars signal in the middle of an emergency during a performance their preference to their backup dancers by waving them away and letting things be and those people rehearse together for long periods of time .
Blacks are so sensitive pa naman about their hair, one of the things that they are so conscious being talked or put into light about, kasama na ang pagiging itim ng skin nila. Megan should just be touch-off pag nagho-host.
Ikaw ang mahiya. I am not a fan but i hear only good things about her. She is malambing and caring. Sadly forgot About the different cultures. I strongly believe it is bullshit to even insinuate she was out to Sabotage the chances of this contestant
Hindi man natin nakikita sa TV kung ano ang nakita mi Megan sa hair ng contestant, but sana hindi na pinakialaman ni megan kung ano man ang meron sa hair niya. She should know her limits as a host.
because she wanted us to say wow ang bait naman a true queen who "fixes another queen's crown" ganyang arrive. di nya alam na she's invading someone's personal space
I dont understand the uproar. Then again I have never worn extensions, joined a pageant nor hosted anything. But generally I'd say contestants are hands off to be safe.
Thanks for this clarification. Pero tama, makes sense. Hair is so sensitive.
Unless talaga kelangan..
Wouldn't call it witchcraft pero I see their point na kinda unprofessional yung ginawa niya. She shouldn't be touching or prodding the contestant, buti sana kung backstage sila tapos tinutulungan niya magprepare but once you are both onstage tapos presenter ka pa ang off na hipu hipuin mo yung tao, ano ka feeling close
Agree sa opinion ng mga taga-Botswana. Wrong talaga ginawa ni Megan. In dating culture, negging tawag diyan. Parang gusto niya mainsecure si Miss Botswana kaya pinuna niya yung hair. 👎🏼
Nasa culture nila yang malakas paniniwala sa voodoo witchcraft kaya di natin sila masisisi if yan ang tingin nila sa gesture ni meghan.. tayo rin naman pinoy sobrang makareact everything about beauty pagents ganyan lang din sila
3:54 yung point is sinira ni Megan yung poise ni Ms Botswana. This is a beauty contest the candidates have to project charisma and confidence , so if someone reaches over and starts playing with your hair, fixing your dress strap, whatever suddenly you don't look queenly magmumuka kang eng eng. It can affect the judges impression of the candidate
Honestly with all these comments and before watching the video, i thought megan did much worse. What i see here is a moment where she tried to be/seem more friendly, approachable, and nice but backfired. Yes she shouldn't have done that and been more professional and conscious but saying she purposely sabotaged someone is a bit of a stretch. Grabe give the girl a break. Hindi naman siya consistently nagkakalat.
I made this exact same mistake when I offended my black friend by asking and touching her hair. They are sensitive when it comes to their hair and I realized madami din ibang babae sa Pilipinas na ganyang ayaw din hinahawakan buho nila unless sobrang ka close nila
Ang hirap pala no. Dapat lahat iplease. What a cruel world.
Your ignorance is not an excuse po. It doesnt matter what your intentions are. Hands off to yourself. You dont randomly touch other people. Imagine ang confident mo sa sarili mo then someone will try to "fix" whatever it is, macoconscious ka. Hindi yun mahirap intindihin. What a "cruel world" since common sense is no longer common.
4:26 huh? doesnt matter what nationality common sense na wag mong hawak hawakan yung buhok nung kandidata live on air in front of cameras and the audience. Ano yan banyo? Dressing room? Thats a world class beauty competition! All hosts and interviewers should maintain polite and professional distance from the person they are speaking to.
507 whenever someone fixes my hair or clothing I'm actually grateful cause i feel they care enough. Then again i don't really put much value on looks. Of course people are all different and megan shouldn't have done that (especially in this setting) but i think it's a bit much to say she did this maliciously.
Maybe Megan was just trying to be nice and caring pero kinulang sa research. Why would you touch someone else's hair? You're a host and hindi mo naman kilala mga yan personally. Nagpaka professional naman sana siya
This is what i think too! Yes mali talaga, kinulang sa research and etiquette. Pero hindi naman niya siguro yan sinadya to cast a spell or make her lose like these comments say
Of course she's just trying to be nice and got caught up in the moment. pero should have not done it. Period. anyway I will expect her to apology. and I hope the contestant will accept it and be ok with it para maka move on na lahat. peace.
I don't know Megan's side, probably she just wanted to help not realizing the repercussion and interpretation of other people watching. True, not her job so dapat hindi nya na lang ginawa yun.
Yung sa UK, yun godmother ni William was forced to apologize because she touched the dreadlocks of a Black guest, after asking din that guest where she was from, knowing that those were all British people. Kaya talaga we need more Filipinos from that aesthetic . Parang dati we had Elizabeth Ramsey and Whitney Tyson kaya nakakabuti sa Filipino consciousness. Ngayon, di lang puti kundi pati Koreano mas mataas tingin natin kesa sa atin. Kainis. Ang daming magandang kayumanggi. dati we had sila tetchie agbayani anjanette abayari.angel aquino, tweetie deleon ngayon halos wala na nga. Kaya gusto ko si Rabia, nadine Kathryn eh, gorgeous and brown-skinned Filipinos although maputi nga sila sobra pa except for Rabiya.
4:44 hindi naman kasi casual sosyalan ito this is a professional setting. Halimbawa you're in a job interview tapos biglang hinawakan nung HR manager buhok mo diba nakaka off? Or lets say sa red carpet a reporter is interviewing Anne Curtis pwede bang basta nalang hipu hipuin nung reporter si Anne? You are not there to be chummy or magpacute you are there to do a job.
Definitely not witchcraft. But I did find Megan fixing Botswana’s hair so unnecessary. It was not a girl’s girl moment. Again, unnecessary and could have dampen confidence in an already tense situation. It did look/sound condescending. However, I don’t think it will change the results. So everybody calm down. Lesson learned nalang Megan na next time, keep your hands off the contestants unless they are in dire need of a helping hand ie natapilok. Keep everything professional.
No. It is rude. Imagine mo beautycon yan, they train to fix their own hair. What would Megan know about Black hair? Even the Kardashians had to learn about fixing Black hair when they had kids. And even if straight hair yan, ano naman K ni Megan magayo? Is she a hairstylist? Those contestants fix their own hair or in this case wig pala yun.Megan overstepped, although well-meaning, and she should just apologize. Maling maling malim The fact di mo makuha, may something wrong sa yo. Youre being told bastos yun, they feel bastos yun and you're doubling down.
9:35 Internet has existed for decades—please learn to use it for good. If there’s no such thing as Black hair, then why was the corn-row hairstyle invented and why is it cultural appropriation for other ethnicities to use corn row as a mere fashion statement? Kasi that hairstyle addresses Black hair problems because THERE IS SUCH A THING AS BLACK HAIR. May problems ang Black hair that other ethnicities do not have kahit pa kulot din yung iba sa atin na belonging to the latter.
Pero kahit ganun ginawa ni Megan I’m on her side. Baka sila.
Me too…support ako kay Megan dahil malinis ang intention nya.
6:18 If it doesn’t look good on camera, then so be it. Just don’t touch the contestant period. Just like how we should respect personal space, same with body especially hair and face. Because it’s just rude to do that.
I think Megan has no ill intent and maybe felt she was doing a good deed. Pero sadly it was misinterpreted as their culture does not allow anyone else to touch one’s hair and even accuse of witchcraft was performed. However as host/presenter Megan should know her limitations, now she has a scandal to face and answer.
I initially found their concern petty and funny, then I remember a colleague trying to fix my hair before our meeting started and i got so conscious about my hair I had to excuse myself to comb it. Sobyeah, i think i understand what they meant.
I’m sure Megan didn’t mean any harm. Maybe she’s not aware that Africans are very sensitive with their hair. They don’t want anyone to touch their hair unless they’re getting their hair done.
Nah. I don’t think this is only an African thing. Even some Filipinos don’t want anyone touching their hair. Perfect example si Vice. And it’s just rude when someone tries to fix your hair in situations like that. Like girl, those women were trained and prepared to look good in front of the camera and a huge crowd. Don’t you think hindi nila naayos yan bago sila lumabas sa stage? A presenter fixing it just don’t make sense.
1:10 If you thought na galit yan. mahina ang comprehension mo. Yes you said it was an African thing. What I meant is, it's not only specific to one culture. In fact, it's not only about culture but it was about personal space and woman thing na din for some. May mga taong sensitive when it comes sa hair nila. At girl, pageant yan. Do you think hindi nag-ayos yung contestant before entering the stage?
Hinawakan na nga niya tapos sinabi pa niya sa microphone na magulo yung buhok during the q&a. Walang manners naman para gawin yun eh mismong on air at live pa.
i'm really surprised sa comments dito but then kung tayo din faney na faney ng beauty pageant tapos hindi nanalo kandidata natin magwawarla din ng kung ano-anong theory
Hindi nasira ang poise nya. She remained focused and confident. I thought Megan was just being a sister to her. Kaloka, she was well intentioned but yeah if this was a cultural offense then she should apologize.
Im sure megan was just adjusting her hair out of concern... people need to calm down with the witchcraft and lessening her confidence!
It was a simple act but yeah, it was not a smart thing to do not only because of cultural thing or personal boundaries but also it’s a pageant. There was nothing wrong with her hair. Bukod sa hinawi niya na yung buhok, sinabi niya pa sa mic na she’s just going to fix her hair. How would you feel, after spending a lot of time preparing your hair and make up, then someone told you she’ll fix your hair in a beauty contest? In front of people and judges!
Sobrang off niya dun. Dapat tinatanong niya muna at hindi niya dapat on the spot ginagawa sa candidate on live TV.
Megan should have kept her hands to herself and kept her mouth shut as well. Kakaloka! Pinagmukha niya na hindi maayos yung candidate in front of thousands.
Hahaha
Ang oa m hahaha pansinin m maigi hbng nagllkd n ung gril dna maayus unf s hrpn at ngsbi nya xa n aayusin xa naka smile p nga c girl isa k dn n wla utak🤣🤣
I shared a memory, merely as an example as to what could possibly happen when you invade someone's personal space. Hindi ko sinampal ung mukha ng friend ko and hindi ako galit before, during or after the whole thing happened (which btw started and ended before we understood what we both had done). It was a defense reflex and not some alibi for me to hurt someone, specially a friend. Ung kamay nya ang nasampal ko, or for better term cguro, i blocked/swayed her hand away na lang. Sampal kasi is such a strong term so I probably should have not used it multiple times. To be clear din, I did not hurt my friend. Hindi ko nga alam yung gagawin nya, she was the one who was suddenly after something on my face. Naguidance office kami hindi dahil nag-away kami but because we disturbed our class. We are good friends to this day and both see eye to eye that that indeed was one of our many funny HS memories. If you still choose to be gigil even after giving you further details about our experience, then that is on you na.
Inayos man o hindi talo talaga sya.
10:16 then the contestant will shoo it away herself. Or kung tumulong man yung host dapa pasimple lang hindi yung I announce niya pa on mic na "Teka may langaw :)" e di you called attention pa at lalong napahiya yung contrstant
Gosh wala aq nkkta na mali sa ginawa ni megan f papansin nyo hbng ngllks c africa dna ok ung buhok nya at dstracted dn at dmgnda kaya inayus lng nya so anu mali dun prng mas langit n nkkta ni megan n d maayus buhok tas dedma xa db??mlmng my mssbi dn kau pg d nya inayus🤣🤣hayyyy kaluka....
11:17 even if she asked permission it was still rude to do. Nakasalang na yung contestant in front of judges, saka pa siya naging pakialamera. She made contestant look bad by calling attention to a flaw na up close mo lang naman mapapansin but otherwise hindi halata on cam.
Sorry, but ang daming snowflake sa mundong ito. let's just face it, kapag natatalo we always find ways to blame someone. akala ko naman based on the comments here eh hinagod na ni Megan yung buhok nung contestant dahil may mga pa-comments pa kayo na hands to yourself. hinawi lang niya yung strand ng hair dahil most likely sasayad na sa mata and the contestant was quite unbothered. Like sa mga Pinoy kapag natatalo we like to find someone to blame for the contestant coming up short. Every little thing na lang kailangan ngumawa? That's why this world is doomed if lagi na lang complain ng complain. Masyado kayong woke. You go woke, you go broke.
Was it an etiquette faux pas? Yes! Pero ang OA ng mga comments dito, may nagsabi pa na if Megan did it to her masasampal niya. Witchcraft talaga? Ano to 15th century? Mga paniniwala talaga ng mga 3rd world, I swear
I'm sure Megan meant well. Kasi tayong mga Pinoy ganyan (not all ha) mahilig ayusin un hair ng taong we care about. Pero I understand where the hate is coming from. So if olats ang candidate nila, isisisi nila kay Megan kahit hindi naman yun ang reason?
Aww I feel bad bc it truly seems like Megan did it to be nice and she meant no harm. (Actually may nakalawit naman talaga na hair. Kahit ako na-bother.)
But sometimes, even if we mean well, hindi pala okay sa taong tinutulungan mo. In which case, we have to respect their feelings and apologize.
Bakit kasi may paayos ayos pa ng buhok It is respecting other people's privacy. Like whi gave her the permission na hawalan nalang basta mga contestants.
Megan Young did nothing wrong. As an artist, model and former Miss World, she is trained to look good on camera and understood that a few loose strands of hair can become focal and distracting for judges so Megan fixed it so Miss Botswana will look good on camera. Enough of your political correctness!
Mas maganda pa nga pambato natin eh kaya lang cooking show yang Ms world.
Lol, they bashed and called her witch for a good intent gesture, while they don't mind calling her such as if it's a normal description to someone, the hypocrisy of these people. I'm pretty sure if the contestant came out victorious, they will consider the gesture a blessing 🙄
Third world countries complaining about the most trivial things in life. Did the world become a better place? Are there no hungry people anymore? Also, associating it with witchcraft? ReplyDeleteMy similarity kasi to sa witchcraft or sumpa na ipapataw ng isang tao to another human. Similar gesture sa ulo and the hand gesture. Can't blame them.
DeleteThanks for this clarification. Pero tama, makes sense. Hair is so sensitive.
Unless talaga kelangan..
DeleteWouldn't call it witchcraft pero I see their point na kinda unprofessional yung ginawa niya. She shouldn't be touching or prodding the contestant, buti sana kung backstage sila tapos tinutulungan niya magprepare but once you are both onstage tapos presenter ka pa ang off na hipu hipuin mo yung tao, ano ka feeling close
ReplyDeleteAgree sa opinion ng mga taga-Botswana. Wrong talaga ginawa ni Megan. In dating culture, negging tawag diyan. Parang gusto niya mainsecure si Miss Botswana kaya pinuna niya yung hair. 👎🏼
This is a beauty contest the candidates have to project charisma and confidence , so if someone reaches over and starts playing with your hair, fixing your dress strap, whatever suddenly you don't look queenly magmumuka kang eng eng. It can affect the judges impression of the candidate
DeleteSinagot lng nmn yung nagsabi sa post at comments na sinabotahe daw
DeleteHonestly with all these comments and before watching the video, i thought megan did much worse. What i see here is a moment where she tried to be/seem more friendly, approachable, and nice but backfired. Yes she shouldn't have done that and been more professional and conscious but saying she purposely sabotaged someone is a bit of a stretch. Grabe give the girl a break.
Just do her job na lang
Katakot mga tao talaga
That makes Megan a witch. I don’t disagree
ReplyDeleteKung maka witch ka parang alam mo eh.
DeletePinoy here. Megan crossed the line, this gesture was unnecessary. Hands to yourself Megan.
ReplyDeleteNo one has any right to touch anyone’s hair especially during a competition. How would she feel if someone did this to her. Disgusting
ReplyDeleteTouching their hair is a huge no no. Maski sa US ayaw ng African Americans na may ibang humawak ng buhok nila.
ReplyDeletetrue
DeleteI made this exact same mistake when I offended my black friend by asking and touching her hair. They are sensitive when it comes to their hair and I realized madami din ibang babae sa Pilipinas na ganyang ayaw din hinahawakan buho nila unless sobrang ka close nila
DeleteAng hirap pala no. Dapat lahat iplease. What a cruel world.
ReplyDeleteYour ignorance is not an excuse po.
Deletewalang mahirap sa keep your hands to yourself
Delete4:26 huh? doesnt matter what nationality common sense na wag mong hawak hawakan yung buhok nung kandidata live on air in front of cameras and the audience. Ano yan banyo? Dressing room? Thats a world class beauty competition! All hosts and interviewers should maintain polite and professional distance from the person they are speaking to.
Delete507 whenever someone fixes my hair or clothing I'm actually grateful cause i feel they care enough. Then again i don't really put much value on looks. Of course people are all different and megan shouldn't have done that (especially in this setting) but i think it's a bit much to say she did this maliciously.
Delete5:10 luh. Common sense naman jan
Delete10:57 same here….
DeleteMaybe Megan was just trying to be nice and caring pero kinulang sa research. Why would you touch someone else's hair? You're a host and hindi mo naman kilala mga yan personally. Nagpaka professional naman sana siya
ReplyDeleteThis is what i think too! Yes mali talaga, kinulang sa research and etiquette. Pero hindi naman niya siguro yan sinadya to cast a spell or make her lose like these comments say
DeleteOf course she's just trying to be nice and got caught up in the moment. pero should have not done it. Period. anyway I will expect her to apology. and I hope the contestant will accept it and be ok with it para maka move on na lahat. peace.
DeleteI don't know Megan's side, probably she just wanted to help not realizing the repercussion and interpretation of other people watching. True, not her job so dapat hindi nya na lang ginawa yun.
ReplyDeleteYung sa UK, yun godmother ni William was forced to apologize because she touched the dreadlocks of a Black guest, after asking din that guest where she was from, knowing that those were all British people. Kaya talaga we need more Filipinos from that aesthetic . Parang dati we had Elizabeth Ramsey and Whitney Tyson kaya nakakabuti sa Filipino consciousness. Ngayon, di lang puti kundi pati Koreano mas mataas tingin natin kesa sa atin. Kainis. Ang daming magandang kayumanggi. dati we had sila tetchie agbayani anjanette abayari.angel aquino, tweetie deleon ngayon halos wala na nga. Kaya gusto ko si Rabia, nadine Kathryn eh, gorgeous and brown-skinned Filipinos although maputi nga sila sobra pa except for Rabiya.
Focus accla!
DeleteSusme anong kaugnayan nitong mga pinagsasabi mo?
DeleteSusme anong kaugnayan nitong mga pinagsasabi mo?
DeleteWhat Megan did was a "people pleasing act". To appear considerate perhaps? Too bad it backfired.
ReplyDelete4:44 hindi naman kasi casual sosyalan ito this is a professional setting.
DeleteSi VG nga ayaw na ayaw ipahawak buhok what more pa yung mga taong part ng culture na nagsusuot talaga ng weaves.
ReplyDeleteOh lesson learned. Common sensitivity lang not to touch other people's body plus cultural sensitivity, you dont f with African women's hair ever.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not witchcraft.
ReplyDeleteAgree🙌
DeleteShocks! Bat mo ginawa yan Megan, alam mo mga yan insecure yan sa buhok nila. Yan ang insecurity nila bukod sa kulay. Huhuhu why Megan.
ReplyDeleteAs someone with curly hair na ang hirap hirap ayusin. Kakairita kapag may humahawak.
DeleteAng OA ng mga tao. Meghan cares for the contestsnt. Yun lang.
ReplyDeleteNo.
Delete7:33 when they say witchcraft, tanggapin na lang din?
DeleteIf i had dirt in my face, i would appreciate if some removes it or tell me rather than walk around with if
Delete7:33 there is no such thing as Black hair.
Delete9:35 Internet has existed for decades—please learn to use it for good.
Delete9:35 meron. Dito sa US may dedicated salon for them and hair products because hindi madali mag ayos ng ganyang hair.
DeletePero kahit ganun ginawa ni Megan I’m on her side. Baka sila.
ReplyDeleteIgnorante
DeleteKaya walang career yang idol mo eh basic manners e wala
DeleteAnon 6:41 ikaw ang ignorante. Have you worked with those types? Baka mkampihan mo si Megan.
DeleteI’m on Megan side after ko mabasa mga ngawngW ng mga taong yun sa knya. Bu the way taga US ako. So I know.
Delete@7:28 Taga US ka, and you know. And what do you know?
Ang issue is she is touching somebody. Hands off. Hirap intindihin? Lels
DeleteHuge No no ignorant Megan should know better
ReplyDeleteI will be insulted if it was my hair
ReplyDeleteWhat if she didn't fix it and her hair really doesn't look good on camera?
ReplyDelete6:18 If it doesn’t look good on camera, then so be it. Just don’t touch the contestant period. Just like how we should respect personal space, same with body especially hair and face. Because it’s just rude to do that.
Delete6:18, still never right to someone's face without permission.
Delete6:18 that's on the candidate then. labas na si Megan dun and none of her business.
DeleteNot Megan’s call to fix it. Stick to what you are asked to do
DeleteShe should ask permission muna tapos in announce pa sa buong mundo using microphone yung pag fix ng hair. Smh
ReplyDeleteI think Megan has no ill intent and maybe felt she was doing a good deed. Pero sadly it was misinterpreted as their culture does not allow anyone else to touch one’s hair and even accuse of witchcraft was performed. However as host/presenter Megan should know her limitations, now she has a scandal to face and answer.
ReplyDeleteShe was on the world stage, not on one in Purok 6.
DeleteWhy did Meagan had to do that in the first place? She's in a beauty pageant not just an ordinary talk show.
ReplyDeletePara sabihan siya na, “Wow, Filipinos are so caring.” We’re not. We just want the optics.
DeleteI initially found their concern petty and funny, then I remember a colleague trying to fix my hair before our meeting started and i got so conscious about my hair I had to excuse myself to comb it. Sobyeah, i think i understand what they meant.
ReplyDeleteI’m sure Megan didn’t mean any harm. Maybe she’s not aware that Africans are very sensitive with their hair. They don’t want anyone to touch their hair unless they’re getting their hair done.
ReplyDeleteNah.
DeleteBa’t galit ka 9:00? I’m only referring to Africans because the candidate is an African. OA neto.
Delete1:10 If you thought na galit yan. mahina ang comprehension mo.
ReplyDeleteThat was so random of Megan. Kahit ata ako maawkward if someone did that to me, especially on stage in front of thousands of people.
ReplyDeleteBakit niya inayos in the first place?
She remained focused and confident. I thought Megan was just being a sister to her. Kaloka, she was well intentioned but yeah if this was a cultural offense then she should apologize.
Cultural sensitivity and respect for personal space and others' bodies.
ReplyDeleteVery very wrong Megan!
ReplyDeleteIm sure megan was just adjusting her hair out of concern... people need to calm down with the witchcraft and lessening her confidence!
ReplyDeleteIt was a simple act but yeah, it was not a smart thing to do not only because of cultural thing or personal boundaries but also it’s a pageant.
ReplyDeleteMegan should have kept her hands to herself and kept her mouth shut as well. Kakaloka! Pinagmukha niya na hindi maayos yung candidate in front of thousands.
Hahaha
ReplyDeleteAng oa m hahaha pansinin m maigi hbng nagllkd n ung gril dna maayus unf s hrpn at ngsbi nya xa n aayusin xa naka smile p nga c girl isa k dn n wla utak🤣🤣
Just tell the person nicely na respect my personal space.
I shared a memory, merely as an example as to what could possibly happen when you invade someone's personal space. Hindi ko sinampal ung mukha ng friend ko and hindi ako galit before,
Deleteduring or after the whole thing happened (which btw started and ended before we understood what we both had done).
ReplyDeleteInayos man o hindi talo talaga sya.
ReplyDeleteExactly @1009 and sa totoo lang mas maganda Yun nanalong Ms World
DeleteNobody has the right to touch someone’s hair Lalo na during live beauty pageant .
ReplyDelete10:16 then the contestant will shoo it away herself. Or kung tumulong man yung host dapa pasimple lang hindi yung I announce niya pa on mic na "Teka may langaw :)" e di you called attention pa at lalong napahiya yung contrstant
ReplyDeleteKeep your hands to yourself! Basic teaching even to kids!
That was very insensitive and ignorant of Megan
ReplyDeleteMegan clearly said na she'll fix her hair and there was no objection from the contestant. OA kayo. Tsk!
ReplyDeleteTalaga?
DeleteMEGAN SAID SAID SAID, HINDI NAGTANONG FOR CONSENT. ANONG GAGAWIN NG CONTESTANT? AAYAW? E DI NAGMUKA PA SYANG NEGA
DeleteSo kung ayaw nya pa fix sasabihin nya "Oh no Megan don't do that, mind your own business" eh di ligwak lalo sya
ReplyDeleteTalo Ang sagot kasi puro I, I , I …. Parang si Adrianna nung Natali sa Ms U. Puro I , I at pag taas ng sarili ang sinabi.
ReplyDeleteGosh wala aq nkkta na mali sa ginawa ni megan f papansin nyo hbng ngllks c africa dna ok ung buhok nya at dstracted dn at dmgnda kaya inayus lng nya so anu mali dun prng mas langit n nkkta ni megan n d maayus buhok tas dedma xa db??mlmng my mssbi dn kau pg d nya inayus🤣🤣hayyyy kaluka....
ReplyDeleteLesson learned. We need to be mindful. Not sure why Megan did that in the first place
ReplyDeleteMegan, did ask permission. Watch the video. She did tell the contestant that she'll fix her hair. Tsk
ReplyDeleteDID NOT!
Delete11:17 even if she asked permission it was still rude to do. Nakasalang na yung contestant in front of judges, saka pa siya naging pakialamera. She made contestant look bad by calling attention to a flaw na up close mo lang naman mapapansin but otherwise hindi halata on cam.
DeleteWas it a question, yung pag ask ng permission? Did the contestant say yes?
Why the need na hawakan niya?
ReplyDeleteSorry, but ang daming snowflake sa mundong ito. let's just face it, kapag natatalo we always find ways to blame someone. akala ko naman based on the comments here eh hinagod na ni Megan yung buhok nung contestant dahil may mga pa-comments pa kayo na hands to yourself. hinawi lang niya yung strand ng hair dahil most likely sasayad na sa mata and the contestant was quite unbothered. Like sa mga Pinoy kapag natatalo we like to find someone to blame for the contestant coming up short. Every little thing na lang kailangan ngumawa? That's why this world is doomed if lagi na lang complain ng complain. Masyado kayong woke. You go woke, you go broke.
ReplyDeleteIt’s called personal space. Ibang usapan if family or friend mo
ReplyDelete11:36 on air, in front of judges, when you are trying to win a beauty contest?
ReplyDeleteANO BA KASING BUSINESS NI MEGAN PARA AYUSIN BUHOK NG MAY BUHOK? LALO DI NAMAN MAGULO YUNG BUHOK NG CONTESTANT!
ReplyDeleteWas it an etiquette faux pas? Yes! Pero ang OA ng mga comments dito, may nagsabi pa na if Megan did it to her masasampal niya. Witchcraft talaga? Ano to 15th century? Mga paniniwala talaga ng mga 3rd world, I swear
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Megan meant well. Kasi tayong mga Pinoy ganyan (not all ha) mahilig ayusin un hair ng taong we care about. Pero I understand where the hate is coming from.
That’s not her job in the first place.
ReplyDeleteFor Filipino culture, it means Megan cares about her! Dah!
ReplyDeleteAww I feel bad bc it truly seems like Megan did it to be nice and she meant no harm. (Actually may nakalawit naman talaga na hair. Kahit ako na-bother.)
ReplyDeleteBut sometimes, even if we mean well, hindi pala okay sa taong tinutulungan mo. In which case, we have to respect their feelings and apologize.
BAKIT NAMAN KASI HINAWI PA RH OKAY NAMAN
ReplyDeleteANO BA NAISIP NI MEGAN????
NATIONAL TV AT PAGEANT???
PAPAKIALAMAN PA ANG BUHOK TALAGA?
BREEDING KAPAG NASA PUBLIC OMG!!!!
WALA NG MAIPURI SA PINAS DINAGDAGAN PA NG NEGATIVE
EWAN😔😔😔😔😔😔
Grabe naman yun accusation na Witchcraft
ReplyDeleteThey are worst omg haha
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteMegan is a "girl's girl" kasi. Like sisterly care yung ginawa niya. Welcome to woke culture as they say.
ReplyDeleteNowadays, people are becoming so sensitive
ReplyDeleteBakit kasi may paayos ayos pa ng buhok
ReplyDeleteIt is respecting other people's privacy. Like whi gave her the permission na hawalan nalang basta mga contestants.
Keep your hands to yourself
ReplyDeleteOo nga no bakit nya ba inayos eh di nman magulo. Tsaka kung example na magulo man out na sya dun. Siguro parang bugso lang
ReplyDeleteNag pasorry na si megan tama na
ReplyDeleteNag usap na sila ok na
ReplyDeleteMegan Young did nothing wrong. As an artist, model and former Miss World, she is trained to look good on camera and understood that a few loose strands of hair can become focal and distracting for judges so Megan fixed it so Miss Botswana will look good on camera. Enough of your political correctness!
ReplyDeleteNag apologize na sya kasi she is wrong. Aminado siya accla
DeleteWhat were you thinking Megan? It’s a no no!
ReplyDeleteBlacks are overly sensitive about their hair. Majority of them wear wigs. And they can be more narrowminded and toxic than pinoys.
Mas maganda pa nga pambato natin eh kaya lang cooking show yang Ms world.
ReplyDeleteLol, they bashed and called her witch for a good intent gesture, while they don't mind calling her such as if it's a normal description to someone, the hypocrisy of these people. I'm pretty sure if the contestant came out victorious, they will consider the gesture a blessing 🙄
ReplyDelete
