6:00 cerebral palsy. Madalas mababa ang life expectancy dahil madami sa kanila may seizure disorder din. A part of their brain lost oxygen for a period of time. Similar sa nastroke but in a different way. Also, medyo paworst case scenario talaga magsalita ang doctors. Sa son ko sabi 25% chance of survival and if he survives the NICU, highly likely vegetative state sya all his life. My son is now in preschool in a regular school, thriving. :)

Magka-edad sila ng anak ko nakasabay din nila sa NICU ng SLMC-BGC. Sobrang hirap na naka-ICU ang baby mo kung pwede lang akuin mo na ang sakit nila. Nalubog kami sa utang pero naging maganda ang buhay ng anak namin kahit nagka-autism siya. Tuwing makikita ko si Pancho, natutuwa ako na nag-survived sila ng anak ko.
Naiiyak ako whenever I see posts of Saab and Jim about Pancho’s milestones. The power of a parent’s love for their kid is insurmountable talaga.

ReplyDeleteWhat I like about their parenting is kita at ramdam mo na fair ang treatment at love nila sa mga bata. Example of great intentional parenting.
