Lahat gusto libre. As if naman sikat. Hindi sila sikat as long as wala sila sa mainstream TV at media.

      Delete
    7. Oh di ba may pa BI pa.

    8. I-name and shame na yan! Or at least, an FP BI, bwahahaha!

Care to spill the tea, M5?

    9. On point si M5!

    11. ako i also felt this. i didnt like yung pa fashion week fashion week though kasi di naman sila the celebrities nagsusupport ng local fashion shows the way they so foreign ones

      Delete
    12. 2:31 Kaya may fashion week sa ibang bansa kasi very much in touch sila with their culture.

    8. haaaay nako you only use "relatively" in relation, comparison, or proportion to something else kaya 117 out of context ka as M5 IS already established. hellooooo Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, JLo, NAOMI FKNGCAMPBELL are some of his clients, relatively pa din? LMAO

  4. Hahaha, natawa ako sa last post.

Katwiran nila inaadvertise nila by wearing.

      Delete
    4. like what M5 said they are (influencers) the best "marketers" kaya yung iba lalo na mga startup businesses tinotolerate kahit maliit lang ang ff kaya dumadami sila like gremlins.

    5. Tignan nyo lng latest controversy about an influnecer kuno na may million followers na gusto magpalibre sa isang maliit na resto kapalit shoutout. Hindi ba ang kapal?

    ReplyDelete
  11. mr cinco is right.

kaso even in hollywood, the “free” mentality is rampant. at the oscars, i would guess na no A-list actress (minsan pati B-list kasi publicity is publicity) is paying for her gown. lalo na at ang unang tanong ay, “who are you wearing?” at may coverage for sure sa maraming magazines.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I dont think that was the point

      Delete
    2. teh hollywood yon and celebrities in hollywood are known worldwide kaya no doubt some well known designers will even offer for their services for free para mapagusapan Worldwide ang damit nila. wag mong i compare sila sa mga cheapipay na pinoy celebrities na sa tv mo lang sikat tapos ang kakapal magpalibre kahit may pambayad naman!

      Delete

      Delete
    4. 1:37 but of course! they earned their fame! pinaghirapan nila yan. How can you compare say the influential power of Oprah Winfrey or Julia Roberts or Jennifer Anniston sa isang pinoy vlogger na sikat lang sa youtube philippines dahil sa kalokohan?! or isang artistang pinoy na sikat lang sa pinas?

She’s always been supportive of local designers. Always making sure to include one or two of their creations in her ensemble for Fashion Week. Mark Burgarner before and now Michael Leyva.

    ReplyDelete
  15. For Michael Cinco to speak - may mga sumosubra na. Michael is right. He is a proud Pinoy genius who made his mark and built a brand abroad - almost by himself, walang support halos ng celebs natin, only after lang na establish siya. He came to prominence sa society natin when Marian Rivera chose him for one of her wedding gowns. He was known before then, mostly abroad and by Pinoy high society but not Pinoy masa. Afterwards, many celebs wore him sa Pinas, only after knowing he dressed the likes of Jlo, India's superstars, Russian Oligarch daughters, Middle Eastern Princesses. Pero Pinoy celebs want him to dress and style for free? Gosh, magbayad! Tapos support local talent. We have amazing designers, more than just copiers of trend. Let's pay for their talent and support them as a society.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Very well said and it's true. Most celebrities will flaunt their European designer clothes with tacky logos and they spent a fortune on these. Which is fine, they can do whatever they want with their money. But to ask for freebies from these Filipino designers is so unclassy and cheap. Learn to appreciate their works by purchasing from them too. Shame on you.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Kpop idols are like this too. You will never see them wear or promote korean/asian designer or brands. Puro European brands or american brands ang sinusuot nila.

      Delete
    2. Anong never, PeaceMinusOne, Gentle Monster, Acme dela Vie, Covernat, P Reinsein and so many more Korean designer and streetwear brands are being supported by Kpop idols esp yung iba dyan ay personal friends at kakilala pa mismo nila. baka naman you're not a kpop fan or di ka lang din masyado familiar sa mga Korean brands.

      Delete
    3. 11:59, None of those korean brands you mentioned are famous because only their "kpop idol friends" wear them. All of them are obsessed with Euro brands, kahit yang idol friend na yan, hindi din isusuot yang korean brand kung hindi nya friend. Realtalk.

      Delete
  17. True yung stars na treating designers as their own personal closet. Tapos yung iba di pa mag thank you to promote the designer sa mga post eh libre lang naman pala

    ReplyDelete
  18. Very well said. I don’t understand this obsession with the brands. Paying indecent amount for status symbol?

MC is not talking about heart or pia like some ppl would like to think. They all follow eo and supportive. Also, ang alam ko heart pays local designers and also is proud to show them off. May na post si gurl b4 about getting to wear this high end brand and made such a big deal about it na sobrang oa. The way MC explained it alam ko na kaagad sino tinutukoy niya. They don't follow eo din.

  23. Agree with M5 na dapat lang bayaran ang services ng Pinoy designers and HMUs. At dapat todo ang support by the influencers that wear them.

That said, it's obvious why influencers chase after foreign luxury brands. Being an influencer is still a job. International brands have a bigger market and those brands have deeper pockets. Mas malaki ang kikitain ng influencer from wearing a big name foreign brand so naturally they go where the money is. Pero that does not mean they should neglect and abuse local designers. It is their responsibility to also uplift the local fashion industry

    ReplyDelete
  24. Gosh, nakakahiya naman talagang pag-uugali yan, free loaders!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  26. There are so many talented filipino designers. Please respect their work by paying what is due.

  33. First time I saw him was in Cebu. I’d known him before that because my friend and I used to bingewatch ANTM (couture gowns tapos garbage site and background shot by Nigel Barker ang episode na yun). That time hindi pa sya ganoon ka sikat or di ganoon kaingay ang guesting nya sa ANTM kasi alam nyo na culture sa Pilipinas like what he said kulang sa suporta. Dinpa sya kilala masyado sa Pilipinas that time. But I really admired his creations. So yun na nga I was in a mall in Cebu (2012) to renew my nursing license. Yung porma nya same pa rin noon at ngayon.

    ReplyDelete
  40. He's right. Filipinos like it free pag sa kapwa Pinoy, pero pag imported, they're willing to pay a fortune, masabi lang na "in" sila. Just like here sa ibang bansa, pag nagustuhan nila ang binebentang pagkain, gusto nila dapat "patikim" muna. But come to think of it, pag sa store ba, yung mga nabibili nila, pinapatikim ba muna sa kanila? Syempre hindi diba? Pag gusto mo kumain ng bilin mo muna bago mo matikman. Only Pinoys can do that....lol... Hay buhay!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
Kalurks diba?! Social climbers!

    ReplyDelete
  43. You would think he is doing this for himself but honestly he does not need to because he is established enough to be able to say no to abusive Pinoys. Him ranting is for the sake of his fellow designers who has to put up with such attitude by celebrities and influencers.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. true! yan ang may reading comprehension!

  45. Choice ng mga “celebrities” or “influencers” ang gusto nilang isuot branded man or hindi, wala na tayong paki dun, pero dun sa mga tinutukoy ni MC na mga abusado, walang manners, makakapal ang fez, bakit niya hinayaan na thank you na lang ang pambayad sa kanya or sa ibang Filipino designers? Dapat from tha start nag refuse siyang makipag commit, and why not reveal their names kesa magparinig na lang

Basta ako marunong ako mag bayad Ayoko ng free! Kaya Inis ako sa ibang sellers e they give you freebies kasi artista ka unfair ti us paying customers we BUY I repeat we BUY! Kahit sa store ko, pinipilit ako mag sponsor sabi ko one time si LA tenorio bumili siya sa akin isnag items Hidne free ha bumili siya no discount pa yun. Ganun Dapat Bili! 64. Hindi lang sa fashion industry nangyayari to. Sad that we are willing to pay a fortune sa mga imported products kahit na may mga magagandang gawang pinoy

  67. Pero to be honest, bibili ka nga ng gowns from rajo laurel, mark bumgarner, ir kahit yung mga wala sa filipino a-list designers, pero mahal din. So ang isio ng Filipino since mahal din naman, istretch ko na pagse-save ko para makabili nung
    prada, LV, etc.

    2. 3:55 di mo gets sinabi ng pinatulan mo sa itaas… kahit di custom made, sadyang mahal talaga mga gowns made in their name. May mga boutiques mga yan and may mga gown creations sila na hindi custom made, kumbaga for everyone to choose at once they go inside their boutiques. Mahal din mga yun. Abot ng 7K 10K or more. Believe me, nakapasok nako sa shop ni rajo laurel and ang mahal ng mga gowns na nakabalandra sa shop. So mag ipon nalang ako at bibili nalang ako ng gowns from int’l designer stores kung ganon din lang
