If God is love then we should all try to follow Him and love selflessly. But we are foibled humans and only recall God when we need Him or to flex. Sorry God, forgive us. Please guide this young man to healing and his ex similarly. Help them find their way to a happier heart.

It is her you are marrying, not her bank account. She just wants to decure herself and her fakily bejng the breadwinner.
