I think until the time of Pia Guanio ganun ang mechanics nila
Out of no where, my wife was telling me a story about her hair style in her 20s and suddenly Chiqui Hollman popped out in my mind. I instantly grabbed my phone and browsed Chiqui’s name through google to show my wife the picture and asked if it was the same as her style. But, even before she answered i accidentally pressed a key that connected me to this interview of Julius B. with Chiqui and i was so glued to her very inspiring life story. Thank you so much Chiqui, you touched my heart on how faith worked with such a showbiz personality type that i admired decades ago. Life is full of challenges and uncertainties but things happen for a reason that only Good knows why. I feel blessed today watching and listening with your experiences in life. God bless.ππΌ
Alta mga lady hosts noon kaya aspirational for the masses na target audience ng Eat Bulaga. How times have changed. Relatable na new generation of lady hosts. Good or bad?
Yeah parang nasa upper middle class ang family nya, not really ultra rich. But I agree, tingnan mo naman ang mga hosts sa TV nun 70s mga Eddie Mercado, Elvira Manahan, the Hontiveros sisters, Johnny Litton, and Bobby Ledesma parang mga titas titos na very dignified and articulate sa English. Well it reflects that generation naman, naging more and more casual na ang mga tao eventually.
Sino nakaka alala kay Merce Henares? Bata pa ako and I'd see her give commentaries sa mga beauty pageants, etc. I still remember, ang galing magsalita noon.
It makes you aspire to speak better.
Madalas mga dating bold star o naghihirap na once upon a time celebs. May part nga saken naisip baka yang mga yan ang pantasya growing up. Hahahha pero i think its more of it creates interest kase. Mala E! True Hollywood Stories. If familiar kayo dun.
I wondered what happened to them pero I was enlightened nung nainterview sila. Natutuwa ako for Jiro, though I hope pumayag naman na si John Wayne magparehab.
3:04 I agree with you. Hindi talaga magaling mag interview si Julius even sa hard news, he always looks unprepared with his questions and not fully aware of the topics so sayang ang opportunity to get more from the interviewee. Malayong malayo kina Karen Davila, Pinky Webb.
I agree, Julius Babao can level up a bit especially kung mga gaya nito na ang tagal nawala sa limelight and yet very interesting interview subject naman sana.
. Kahit ako fan ako ni tim at Julius. . Sa tv patrol o kahit saan man sila nagbablita. Sikat tlga sila noon. . . Eh totoong magkaka8nteres Ang mga matatanda at kaidaran nila
She is definitely avoiding to give story about her relationship with Vic in respect with her family siguro? Or too traumatic kaya nilimot nya na lahat about it.
Obviously she was trying to be respectful of Vic’s marriage. Notice how she mentioned about Paulyn wanted to lend the baby thingy for her daughter’s new born. It’s just a subtle way of saying hey I don’t want to give much details about my past with him because he has a family.
Chiqui Hollmann-Yulo is as elegant and sophisticated as before. Not giving details about her past with Vic Sotto must be respected. It only means she had moved on and very much happy with her married life with Prandy Yulo for 42 years. Yes, it is the most appropriate and respectful response to say “I could no longer remember kasi 42 years na akong married”. Reading between the lines, maybe Chiqui would like to convey the message that, “let us not dwell in the past, both Vic and I have our families of our own. We are both happily married with our respective partners. Not elaborating on our past means I am respecting my husband and the wife of Vic”. Of course hindi nya pwedeng sabihin ito blatantly during the interview. Unawain nalang po natin at respetuhin. She did the right thing. Siguro pag nagkwento sya ng detalyado maraming bashers. But knowing Chiqui’s elegance and professionalism, hindi mangyayari yan. Salute to you my idol since I was in my elementary grade, Chiqui Hollmann, the original EB Queenπ
There are nuggets of wisdom in between that you might pick up like I did. That’s from 42yrs of marriage, life, parenting, career, I’m sure mas marami pa siya pwede ishare. Hehe
I thought it was a great interview. Bihira ko tapusin or panoorin ng di on fast forward speed ang mga interviews ni J. Babo but nakaka miss nga si Chiqui Hollmann-Yulo. I'm glad they found her and interviewed her.
But I do remember still Chiqui Hollman Yulo as a host.
I wish she had a better interviewer, though. Kasi, kelangan pa ng kaunting pag ayos sa flow ng questions si Julius B. Great choice of interviewee, though!
Chiqui Hollman is very famous back in the early 80s. the "recall" of her name was a testament not only as one of the best hosts with her contemporaries but also made a fashion statement of that "Chiqui Hollman Hairstyle" back in the day.
Nakakamiss yung time na mga co-hosts sa EB talagang mga smart women like Chiqui, Coney,
ReplyDeleteToni Rose and Christine Jacob.
English speaking pa
DeleteOo nga ‘no? They complemented the masa appeal of TVJ.
DeleteAdd Rio Diaz
DeleteAdd Plinky Recto as well.
DeleteWhat’s nice pa even these sosyal women learned to loosen up and be wholesome kwela along with TVJ.
I think until the time of Pia Guanio ganun ang mechanics nila
Oo nga, nakasama rin nila si Plinky Recto for a time.

Anyare?
ReplyDeleteKung makalait ka sa mga EB hosts! Ano naman ang sa Tahanang Pinakamalungkot?
DeleteKasi that time mga "elites" lang ang may tv π
DeleteHosts nila ngayon either college graduate abroad or nag aaral. At lahat sila may brains pati staff. Ok na?
DeleteGrabe ang hate sa katawan. Whats wrong with the new hosts?
DeleteBakit? Beauty pageant hosting ba ang Eat Bulaga?
Deletemay brains dahil englisera? lolz
DeleteAlta mga lady hosts noon kaya aspirational for the masses na target audience ng Eat Bulaga. How times have changed. Relatable na new generation of lady hosts. Good or bad?
ReplyDeleteChiqui Hollman isn't Alta. Haha!! Kapitbahay namin yan sa Taytay since the 80s. And since neighbor, nakiki Tita Chiqui kami sa kanya π

Delete3:02 tell me what’s wrong?
DeleteBest comment ka 3:02! Hahahahahahaha!
DeleteBuga-kape ako sa comment ni 3:02!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! π€£
DeleteLaptrip sayo 3:02 Hahahaha
DeleteActually Chiquitita Hollman nga siya in real life.
Delete11:11 ako si 12:44, proud to be batang 80s π

DeleteBossing

DeleteFor fresh content na din siguro? How many times do we need to see interviews of alex gonzaga or abigail rait?
I wondered what happened to them pero I was enlightened nung nainterview sila.

DeleteI was going to comment that too. Julius is lucky that Chiqui is an engaging subject.
Tinapos ko yung interview and it was engaging.
ReplyDeleteI watched it too. I love her!

ReplyDeleteShe wants to respect Pauleen dahil BFF ni Chia.
DeleteYan din naisip ko. Selective memory. I just read one of the comments na umiyak siya sa dressing room after song number ni Vic and Dina sa Eat Bulaga
DeleteObviously she was trying to be respectful of Vic’s marriage. Notice how she mentioned about Paulyn wanted to lend the baby thingy for her daughter’s new born. It’s just a subtle way of saying hey I don’t want to give much details about my past with him because he has a family.
DeleteHow detailed do you want?

ReplyDeleteYuks but true
DeleteAlin ba nauuna? Haha
ReplyDeleteCo host muna. Dun nadedevelop.
DeleteCo Host muna tapos nagkaka developan
DeleteHe met VS only when she auditioned for EB so yes, sa show na sila naging mag on.
DeleteCohost muna bago maging girlfriend.
So co host muna bago ligaw..
So malamang sa alamang co host muna then ligaw.. gamitin ang utak bago mag comment✌️
DeleteCo-host muna then jowa then breakup - exit EB ang jowa. Next!
ReplyDeleteThere are nuggets of wisdom in between that you might pick up like I did. That’s from 42yrs of marriage, life, parenting, career, I’m sure mas marami pa siya pwede ishare. Hehe
