    1. Super low blow yun, walang laglagan ng team mates.

Kasalanan din niya yun, and he agreed to the script. He should have reviewed it, edited it with the team, and owned it 100%!

    2. Hirap cya probably kasi his Filipino mom jokes wouldn't fly with this audience, or maybe he's not as talented as everyone thought he is.

      Delete
    3. Sana di nalang sya nag mention na iba ang gumawa ng script, for sure kung successful ang stint nya baka he will own the script. Since ligwak eh wla choice kundi manisi? Sinayang mo ang big opportunity, for sure wla na kukuha sayo next time. Aminin natin na ung joke nya na pang asian family eh di uubra sa mga kano, iba ang sense of humor nila, sana di na lang nya tinanggap ung job kung short notice pala like what he said as an excuse

  2. Agreed. I was so disappointed about his performance. Some of his lines were not funny at all and worse, offensive.

    1. They don't need a traditional "host" sa Golden Globes to "host" the event, what they need is a stand-up comic to entertain the guests which is a lot more challenging. I doubt Gretchen would do half as good cause she is not even a comedian or funny. Aarte lang talaga ng mga Hollywood Artists, even great comedians like David Letterman were considered as failures sa hosting niya noon sa Oscars, reason why he never hosted again.

    2. 12:30 while I do the find his jokes funny during GG. I wasn’t like other Pinoy na grabe maka bash kay Jokoy. I am still his fan. I watched him perform live here sa US in one of his tour . You can really tell that he has a lot of followers coming from all ethnicities. Ricky Gervais they said was funnier, he also had offensive jokes during previous GG.

    3. It's not surprising, Pinoys love to conform. I'm not even a fan of jokoy but Ms. Ho kilabutan Ka sa comment mo.

      Delete
    4. @12:19 Which part was offensive for you? Pinanood mo ba ang buong monologue nya? Did you understand what he said?

    3. just like the beauty pageant who are not beauty queens themselves, or sportscasters whocomment on the sporting event. it's an opinion, and in my opinion, he didnt do bad, he didnt do good either. it was more of a cringe after cringe moment. yes he was only given 10 days to prep, but still.

      Delete
    4. 1222 she does hosting. But this is probably coming from a personal perspective, like how others are able to share theirs

      Delete
    5. Kesa ikaw host Susme how good are you?

      Delete
    6. Simpleng netizens nga can give critics. Grabeng mindset. Sana di kita kilala in person. Kakahiya ka.

      Delete
    7. 1:12 if he mad you cringe, then he's bad. And what's 10 days? Isn't standup how he makes his living? These comedians have tons of materials they keep in a notebook to be used later in their shows. If he's naturally sharp and witty, like Ricky Gervais, it shouldn't be too hard. He's just making excuses, and now the Filipinos who were clamoring to claim him before are disowning him.

    8. Hahaahahahahaahah true.

    9. She also majored in communication so may basis yung criticism niya on how to properly convey to an audience.

Yes she may give her opinion nmn pero for me not that bad some of the clips ive watched.

    11. 8:17 his audience in GG was different from his regular audience. These people are self absorbed feeling untouchables. Ricky Gervais had thrown insults in his previous hosting in GG as well.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Agree kay Gretchen. Major failure si JoKoy as a host sa Golden Globe.

    ReplyDelete

    2. You missed the Barbie joke. Napanood mo yung movie and do you know what it's about?

      Delete
    3. Misogynistic yung joke. Period. Kahit kaninong babae offensive yung joke. Sobrang careful na ng US media sa mga ganyang klaseng content dahil marami na ang nagpupush for gender equality and feminism. Di siya aware dun?

      Delete
Pretty sure puro sensitive swifties mga to. Fan ako ng music nya pero nakaka turn off yung reaction nya.

  10. I also expected more, but to be fair to Jokoy, he got the gig 10 days ago. Siguro may nagcancel last minute. Usually this kind of hosting gig takes months to rehearse kasi big time ang audience mo. Chris Rock was reharsing his Oscars hosting lines months in advance.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Not true. Pinost nya sa IG nya on Dec 21, 2023 na sya ang napiling maghost, so who knows when nya talaga nakuha un gig. But if yan same date din nya nakuha, e not enough days pa din kasi he needs to write (or his writers) pa un monologue nya and practice it, etc.

      Delete

  11. Lots of negatives writes up about his hosting at the golden gloves. I even saw one comment, Will Smith where are you when we needed you...

  12. JoKoy is overrated naman talaga. Pinoys just find him funny because we could relate.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yun naman yung one part of being funny: naintindihan mo at naka relate ka. Kaya nga lang like what you said, Pinoys. Audience nya dito hindi Pinoy and primarily white. Hindi pa sya sanay sa ganitong audience.

    ReplyDelete
  16. He made sure naman na tatak Pinoy ang humor with the monologue laden with boob and penis jokes😂😂 bilib kanrin sa apog nitong mag joke ng ganon sa hollywood stage at hindi naman sya one of them na hollywood A lister,
    Pinoy pride 🤮pa more 🤮

    ReplyDelete
  17. As a stand-up comedian in front of a Filipino audience, Jo Koy can deliver. However, hosting the Golden Globes was outside of his niche. He was nervous, his jokes weren’t funny and he wasn’t connecting to the A-list audience. The worst thing he did though, was throw his writers under the bus. He should’ve been accountable for his poor performance instead of being defensive and finding someone else to blame.

  22. Well its his first time in a big crowd with big stars. I can imagine his anxiety nights before. Give him credits too. I can see the artists faces watching him and has this "who is this guy' look on their faces. Its hard to slap a joke on these artists when they barely know you. There is always a first time and hopefully this won't be his last.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Not a fan of these two. But I understand where Gretchen Ho is coming from. Either you grab the opportunity or refuse it. Don’t make excuses. And do not throw your crew (in this case his writers) out of the bus just to save yourself.

    1. Oh please comedy is a hit or miss sa tao. Sugal yan.

      Delete
    2. correct. It was a disappointment. It’s understandable coz it’s a very big gig for him. He did not deliver. But hey, nobody accepted the job and it was offered to him.

      Delete
    3. Right, comedy is hit or miss. Stand-up comedy differs from hosting. Your comedy show audience is your "target audience" – those who want to see you. When you take on a hosting role, it's a risk. The audience, especially at an awards show like the Golden Globes, isn't there specifically for you. As a host, capturing their attention is crucial. You can't please everyone, but at least aim for a nod from the "general" audience, which wasn't the case for him. While it's not the end of the world, it's a valuable lesson. Landing another hosting gig may be more challenging for him. You don't have to be a host to offer these perspectives or comments. It's about taking ownership – regardless of the outcome, you shoulder the blame as the "presenter."

    2. Exactly. Ang daming Pinoy na suddenly nahihiya daw sila as a Filipino and yung iba naman hindi daw sila fan. Mga hypocrites. Nag-fall flat lang yung jokes niya, it's not even that bad or totally offensive. Marami lang talagang mema dito.

  42. It is definitely a wasted opportunity. I think dumali ang pagiging Filipino ni Jo Koy na masyado siyang na overwhelmed sa opportunity na prolly due to overthinking on how to make people happy eh he blew it up. Tbh, tamed nga yung ginawa niya. Dapat nagpakatotoo na lang sa sarili niya, just like Ricky Gervais.

  57. Gretchen who should watch the interview of Whoopi Goldberg. Surely she will learn something valuable. And yes the difference between a great person and not so great is that, great person like Whoopi is more compassionate and understanding of the situation and don't look at " failure" as a missed opportunity.
