And he can be funny naman talaga, like his Asian accents material na nakakatawa, he delivered it better than Ken Jeong's version (so yes that joke wasn't original). But to assume that he can cater to a different set of audience when he got his big break from Pinoy-related materials (that he tried to milk even further with that Easter Sunday movie that bombed big), good luck. But at least he never got tagged by the MeToo movement that became the downfall of funnier, more seasoned stand ups, so that's still something he can be proud of

If you really lived in America, NFL is one of their main sports. Marami yan from politicians to actors and ordinary people titigil at manonood ng NFL, kahit sa mga resto at bars at dine kapag may Superbowl lahat nakatutok sa TV.
Jokoy doesn't represent Filipinos because he is only a Filipino when it is convenient for him to be a Filipino.

He is hilarious but this fell flat. The Deniro joke and meryl streep wakanda were funny but some I couldn't relate to some of the movie references he made. I think the Oppenheimer reference was funny. Haven't watched it but heard it was a looong dragging boring movie(to some).

ReplyDeleteWow, understand this it's a tough crowd with egos high as a sky. Time plays a big factor, not enough to prepare. I actually felt sorry for Jokoy, this is also his first time with this kind of crowd so he did the best he can and became apologetic at times. If Meryll & Robert de Niro played along why can't a "singer" like Taylor lighten up? As usual, she wanted to be the center of attention.

ReplyDeleteDi ko rin naman gusto yung naging hosting nya pero I think people (or rather, Swifties) are taking it too far. Parang mellow lang naman ito. Mas nakakainis at nakaka-offend yung Barbie joke nya. And how he acted really mayabang. Kulang sya sa bravado to host such events. Back to the Taylor joke, totoo naman din kasing she is part of the spectacle everytime she attends games. And it's not like she's not aware. I mean, this is Taylor Swift. Part of why she's very successful is because she knows how to play it with media. Pati nga celeb friends nya naisasama nya sa game. She knows she's being watched. She knows people are gonna talk about her. So di ko gets bat ang oa ng reaction now that her love life is sort of highlighted here. Tingin ko, gusto nya lang na sya ang gumagawa ng narrative to be talked about. Eh wala syang magagawa, public figure sya at ibinalandra nya naman ang lovelife nya sa buong America and in effect, to the whole world. Oa lang na nag-iinarte ang fans about it.
