  1. I think he tried too hard for his monologue to be funny that it made it so cringey..

    1. yeah he was too "trying hard" and self-conscious/referential. most of the jokes weren't that bad naman pero yun nga, ang delivery/attitude nya rin.

    2. Mahirap gawing joke yung iba.

    4. 12:02 eh ang kaso ay u have to use other as a joke reference. Ung mga naging cast ng SNL like Maya Rudolph ay napull off ito (joking in award ceremony)

  2. I really don't get it why he is sikat. His jokes is not funny at all but offensive, it is. Always. Kakahiya.

    1. He always makes fun of Filipinos just to make people laugh. Getting richer at the expense of maligning Pinoys! I watch that movie he was in, he’s so overrated!

    2. Natatawa sila kasi hindi naman sila Pinoy o Asian, who are usually the butt of his jokes.

      Delete
    3. a lot of standup comedians are doing that and hindi naman nao-offend yung lahi nila like si Russell Peters sa India. Sensitive lang mga pinoy

      Delete
    4. 11:55 sensitive mo naman most of stand up comedians sa US makes fun of their own race.

  3. Sa delivery din kasi ng jokes parang he was unsure of himself na naging awkward na tuloy ang atmosphere. Mas matindi pa nga yung mga punchline ni ricky gervais but he was always confident and laging on point ang pag deliver ng jokes

    1. Yeah mararamdaman mo yung pagiging unsure niya kaya talagang walang nag-laland sa marami niyang jokes. Talagang mapapa WALEY ka.

    2. Di sya magaling sa impromptu at ano bang tawag duon yung nag aano ng jokes based on the monent puro kasi scripted lang sya na di naman sya sumulat

      Delete
    3. Ricky Gervais is a master of roasting everyone, even himself. Kaya his jokes land well kasi people see he's confident enough to be self-deprecating. Meanwhile, this guy threw his writers under the bus just to get validation for his comedy chops

    4. 12:35 impromptu nga ang tawag sa unplanned or unrehearsed act.

  5. OMG second hand embarrassment

  6. I was rooting for him but it was really cringy.

  7. I noticed that this is not going to be good from the first few minutes pa lang that he’s on stage. Akala ko he will somehow take the Golden Globes stint seriously although he’s known as a stand up comedian, ok na yung konting jokes pero lumabas na he’s trying too hard na mapatawa ang lahat ng nasa harapan nya.

    1. he’s so full of himself. he thought he would get away with it like gervais, but they’re just not the same level

  8. I dont wanna watch it

  9. Sayang yung opportunity, aww..face palm😒.

  11. Ouch! Poor Jokoy. Hosting is not easy. Maybe now local celeb hosts will get more love!

  13. I’m all for supporting our kababayans internationally but hindi talaga dito kay Jo Koy. Something about him na hindi sincere. I don’t know? Sa pagiging nationalistic nya as pinoy???

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  15. I don't find him funny at all. Yung movie nya pilit ko tapusin coz di ako natawa from beginning to end. May I know why he became famous kuno? Or sa mata ng pinoy lang na sikat siya cz he's a stand up comedian in the US?

  16. Chris Rock is one of the best, Never a dull moment. Jo Koy was bland.

  17. He bombed because his skill is standup comedy and not hosting.
He bombed because he’s not an A-lister, most of the celebrity audience do not know him, do not respect him and are therefore not easily inclined to go along with his jokes.
Finally, he bombed because his jokes were not funny and lack proper delivery.

  18. Snowflakes gen.. cancel him, mayaman na yan!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  20. Never found him interesting or funny, just cocky.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Career suicide yikes

    ReplyDelete
  22. Grabe naman ang hate. Kahit maraming negative feedback i appreciated how he mentioned that he is filipino in one of his skits during the show. Kudos pa rin it is not an easy job

    1. Not easy but he tried. Sad how some fellow Filipinos are reacting.

  23. A Filipino making fun of Filipinos. He said all Filipinos wanted be a nurse. E ano naman Jokoy! E ikaw nga paulit ulit lang yung jokes mo! Ang masama puro tungkol sa amin Filipinos. Nagka accent ka lang! Hmmp! Last mo na yan!

    1. Sobrang butthurt mo nman 11:53, eh totoo nman ang sinabi nya. But yeah, paulit ulit nga ang jokes nya

  24. Blessing in disguise that everyone now knows that he’s NOT funny. Enough of him finally after this.

  25. Oopsie.

  26. Filipinos are extremely proud “proud to be Pinoy” when you are recognized on a global scale. However, one should be cautious, as they are quick to point out your flaws and eagerly await your downfall.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Don't make Pinoys appear special. Other nationalities do this too whenever there's someone famous being a disappointment. Mabait pa tayo sa lagay na ito.

      Delete
    2. Pinoy ba mag point out ng ginawa nya?

      Delete
    3. Yea, as Filipinos, we take great pride in being 'Always Proud to be Pinoy' when someone is recognized worldwide. However, we also tend to bring down our kababayan if they make one mistake. We emphasize and criticize their flaws, eagerly awaiting their downfall.

    5. Sad. Pathetic.

  27. I guess he’s the one writing ng pieces nya ngayon. Sobrang wala na kasing sense

  28. You know what happened to Kanye after what he did to TS at the VMA, and you still proceeded with that joke? You cannot even own up to it, saying “sorry” after you delivered your punchline. πŸ™„πŸ€¦‍♀️

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
Remember Ricky Gervais?

      Delete
Can’t even own up to it, so quick to blame his writers for it.

      Delete
  29. We've been saying that for years na kasi that his jokes are offensive to us Filipinos pero may mga pinoy na feeling nila ang tatalino nila kasi nagigets daw nila mga jokes nya at ignorante lang daw yung mga hindi natatawa.

    ReplyDelete

    1. 12:17 offensive, why? Kasi may katotohanan nmn tlga sa sinasabi nya about Pinoys?? Okay gurl, you do u

PS.

      Delete
  30. The problem is not the script, but who is delivering it and how it’s delivered. Are you made enough to roast famous celebs? You’re roasting someone, but your expression looked awkward, said sorry even after the punchline. You’re a comedian. Regardless who wrote the script, it’s in your delivery.

Even great comedian actors who follow a script, like Dolphy, when they do multiple takes, they have different punchlines for every take, producing laughs for each take. For Jokoy, he’s not at that level.

I tried watching about 2 of his sets over YT, 2nd one as benefit of the doubt, but I can’t finish any. Didn’t find them funny and the gap between jokes is too long, drilling the punchline too much before going to the next joke. It’s just too painful and dragging to watch. Was not surprised how his hosting stint turned out.

    1. Kaya nga e di niya pinanindigan yung roasts niya. Stick with it. Hindi confident and it shows. Yung timing ng pagbitaw ng punchlines are off.

  31. I wonder how Jokoy feels right about now. I hope it doesn't break him.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Jokoy is good for a niche crowd - the immuhrants, the Filipinos, the OFWs kasi gets nila his jokes about his mom, about cultural difference. Pero this crowd requires mainstream appeal and he doesn't have it. In a pre-woke Hollywood, nobody would have paid attention.

    ReplyDelete
Never got the hype sa kanya

    ReplyDelete
  34. I was rooting for him kasi Pinoy sya in an International stage.. It’s sad na fail ang gig nya but why the need to put him down? Di ba dapat nakakaawa sya kasi he failed?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oh my god. I’ve never liked this man and it’s about time na makita ng mundo what kind of humor he has. Idk why people find him funny honestly. Walang kasawaang paggamit ng Filipino culture. It gets old and boring πŸ™…πŸ½‍♀️

    ReplyDelete
  38. I watched him live once Sa Golden 1 Center in Sac CA, nasa pandemic pa din tau nun. He kept talking about we shouldn't be wearing mask for more than 15 minutes. He ranted and all, then some jokes were funny but the rest not. Saving grace was when he called Wanya Morris of Boyz II Men to sing. His 3rd Netflix show was a disappointment, same old jokes.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The majorly white A list celebrity audience didn’t know him and therefore didn’t want to laugh along with him.
    It’s as simple as that.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Not sure how Jokoy got this gig. His jokes are corny and just not funny at all. His delivery is so hyper too. Like yo, slow down son.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Filipino or not, are we supposed to stand by those misogynistic jokes? Can't we just say what it is which is bad hosting.

    1. Pinoys want to gloss over it under the Pinoy pride banner. And that is why we are where we are now. Lol.
