Condolence to you, Katrina. I know how hard it is for you since your partner just passed away suddenly without you and him saying goodbye to each other. Just like my husband of 23 years, gone too soon so suddenly. May he rest in peace.
Katakot naman. Dati ang stigma is pag mataba or obese lang ang naheart attack. Pero ngayon fit and younger people na. Recently lang may kakilala ako, he was obese pero nag diet naging fit pero naheart attack padin at 38yrs old.
May mga labtest bang pwede ipagawa para malaman if you are prone to heart attack? Ecg?
Not lab test. I would say sa 2D Echo makikita kung pwede kang ma heart attack. Medyo mahal lang yata but I think not more than 10K.
At diet din more veggies, less alcohol, no nicotine…. Adequate sleep, bawal ang snoring at stress management.
ako 40 years old palang slim, nalaman ko may highblood at high cholesterol. May maintenance na now dalawang gamot.
Blood work up- cholesterol check particularly. ECG and Echocarsiogram din as screening test. Basta pag may chest pain, wag balewalain, punta agad s emergency room kasi could be a sign of impending heart attack
True, madami ako kakilala even my ex died of heart attack at 37. To think he was very fit too. I wonder why.. Sa ecg they could check, also blood work din, if may family history ka specially mataas ang chances mo. My dad passed away while asleep, heart attack. Same as my grandpa.
if you have a family history ng heart attack prone ka na agad. kung worried ka, you can also have a check up sa cardio to get your heart check and kung paano siya mag work... may mga test din like (2d echo, stress test) to check how your heart works.
yun nga lang most tests are pricey and dapat may budget ka rin s check up...
samantalahin if my healtcard ka, huwag puro work... health is wealth.
Most people kasi do not get their labs done before embarking on a diet journey. May nakita ako na grupo sa FB promoting no carb diet pero hataw sila sa eggs 3x a day on a daily basis, may shrimp pang kasama tapos konti lang veggies nila. Pacheck mo LDL and HDL mo. Dapat mababa ang LDL (bad cholesterol), ideally 50-70 according to American Heart Association and dapat mataas ang HDL (good cholesterol), dapat 45 up. Ang iba kasi looks fit pero uses drugs so ang heart function is mababa kaya dun naghaheart attack din.
Yearly ECG, pag may kahit konting findings, 2D echo dapat then consult sa cardiologist. And they assume they were okay kasi active and fit sila. Little did they know that the physical activities they were doing were straining their heart so much, hindi na kaya. Akala nila dapat push lang ng push to your limit.
@2:02 alam ko merong DNA testing na ginagawa for disease risk. yung parang malaman mo sa genetic testing kung anong sakit ang high risk for you, like the big C.
Genetics. Then good diet and exercise ang gawin. Regular blood test. No guarantee pero nakakatulong.
Factor ang genes. Low blood ako for so many years pero biglang tumaas ang bp in my 40s. Same condition with my mom na low blood din pero tumaas ang bp in her 40s
Stress, diet and lack of sleep. Tumataas ang heart attack cases ng people below 40. Ingat po tayo and let's guard our health (mental health included!).
Condolences kay Kat and the family, nakakalungkot...
Yes, there are several tests. One is calcium score test done thru CT scan. There is also stress test. Another one is cardiac cath, a very expensive procedure. Pero you have to consult a cardiologist first.
Kung di okay ang lifestyle mo at genetics you have to undergo check up with Cardiologist. Meron akong kakilala he’s only 27 y/o kelangan nyang mag - Maintenance kasi meron silang family history. Marami na these days May heart and stroke mga bata pa.
Aside from those mentioned above, pwede din Cardiac CT calcium or Coronary Calcium scan. May strong familial history ako but okay naman mga numbers ko, and doctor suggested to see category ko.
My heart goes out to Katrina. My deepest condolences kahit di niya ako kilala. We also lost a family member 13 days ago. There are no words to describe the pain.

OMG. Kanina paguwi namin sa condo, may naka abang na Ambulance. Isusugod yung ka building namin. Nahilo daw after mag jogging. Fit din yun.
DeleteYes, have your cholesterol level check for blood test. Meron ding calcium scoring per cat scan.
Delete2:02 thin or fat, the culprit is high triglycerides. It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old.

Have a full cardiac workup. Routine check ups, BP monitoring, ECG, labs for cardiac markers, stress test.
DeleteCheck up lang
DeleteMagpa angiogram yata sis at lab tests
Deleteyes. plus, stress test and the like. yung husband ko nag undergo nun. nalaman nya malakas daw ang puso niya kaysa katawan niya sabi ng Doctor

DeleteBlood test saka angiogram.
DeleteIf nasa lahi ng fam mo ang heart illnesses, do annual checkups. Or more often if prone ka sa sakit or just to be safe.
