    1. Correction he is Filipino and discrimination is in the air :)

    2. 12:20 Asian ang Filipino bruha. Alangan naman Amerikano o Briton. Kaloka ka.

      Delete
Ako nga I don't find anything offensive. Nakakatawa nga eh. But digging it deeper naisip ko na iba kasi un crowd dun. At sa totoo lang di nila kilala si Jokoy plus the fact that he is Fil Am or Asian.

      Delete
    4. Jokoy is more American than Asian. He is just being sensitive.
      Michael V is very correct.

    5. Filipino? Eh Asian nga din un. Taga sang planeta ka teh?

      Delete
    6. I think he was being discriminated for being an unknown to these so called elite actors

      Delete
    7. stop with this discrimination narrative. he wasn’t funny.

      Delete
    8. 2:12 weh pikon, sumama ka kay TS

      Delete
    9. 0124 excuse me alam ko yun. Dito sa states being an asian is more acceptable than being filipino.

      Delete
    10. Oh please he wasn’t funny at all.

    11. 1:24, 2:02,

I am not 12:20… while Philippines is in Asia, pag sinabing Asians, yan ung mga singkit ang mata.

      Delete
    12. 5:16 only ignorant people think like that. Thankfully I'm surrounded by professionals. Also, you can't accuse the general public of discrimination, you have zero proof.

      Delete
    13. Naaliw ako sa iyo 6:59 am. Lol.

      Delete

      Delete
    15. 5:16 east asians discriminate against us and think they are the better asians, but sa mata ng mga racists na americans we are all the same lol. Di pa ba kayo natuto nung pandemic.

      Delete

  2. Same thoughts. You can’t please anybody

  3. It's disheartening to see how quickly people can turn on someone who once made us all proud to be Pinoy. It's impt to remember that everyone makes mistakes, lalo na first time ni Jokoy, and while it's okay to hold him accountable for his jokes, it's equally important to offer him the chance to learn and grow from his missteps kung true naman sa eyes ng iba. Let's not forget the moments that made us proud and instead, let's encourage him instead as filipinos. We're all in this together, and by supporting him through the good and the bad, we can truly make a positive impact. Buong mundo nakikita tayo sa ugali natin in general!Same nagpapako sa cross ang once proud to be pinoy!

So degrading and mockimg and repetitive using Filipino traits and beliefs. User yan satin

      Delete
    2. Pinoy traits yan eh BALIMBING and CRAB MENTALITY

      Delete

      Delete
    4. 2:10 - he is not degrading or mocking the Filipinos. One thing about comedians is they know how to laugh at themselves. Same goes for other stand ups like Fluffy, Russell Peters, Ali Wong, etc. They all make jokes about their race and other races. Sensitive ka lang.

      Delete
    5. lighten up 2:10 he’s a comedian and a lot of times tama naman ung mga sinasabi nya like what he said about TS. most stand up comedians push the envelope ika nga — yes even ricky gervais or chris rock or kevin hart.

      Delete

      Delete
    7. 2:10 he's not mocking and degrading. Maybe you didn't understand his jokes.

      Delete
    8. chill. Filipinos are fun-loving people. we laugh at our selves. wala ka lang sense of humor kaya napipikon ka sa jokes nya. e totoo naman na Filipinos have these weird habits - pero yun tayo e. he is funny. nagkataon lang na yung crowd ay hindi yung usual crown na nanonood sa mga stand up shows nya. kaya di bumenta mga jokes nya.

      Delete
    9. 2:10 they were all true . He wasn’t mocking at all. Baka kinakahiya mo lang ang mga “Filipino traits” that he was including in his shows.

      Delete
    10. 9:32am totally agree with you!

      Delete
    12. Hay guys totoo namam joke nya about taylor swift. Dpat nga di na sya nanjnuod ng games bg bf nya coz nagiging all about her ang game

      Delete

      Delete
  4. Fellow awards show hosts are also defending him. It’s a tough gig and he did his best. He’ll come out of this stronger and better.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Move on na kasi. Mas feeling guilty kapag may pa explain. Typical pinoy finding excuses.

    ReplyDelete
  6. if you didn't find it funny then the joke's obviously not for you, ang problema kse sa mga tao pa di natawa di na magaling, hila agad pababa

    2. Gretchen Ho is not even a good host. I do not like their news program. The news readers do not look credible.

      Delete
    3. Gretchen Ho was a volleyball player na nabigyan ng puwang sa Showbiz dahil nadikit kay Robbie Domingo. Sa true lang

      Delete
    4. She can't even deliver without a prompter or script. Her opinion doesn't matter. She's no different from Bianca G, mga clout chasers.

      Delete

      Delete
    6. As if siya hindi nagkakamali sa report niya and had to apologized recently

  9. What's new ugaling pinoy ang mang down ng kapwa pinoy at ibang lahi.

    ReplyDelete

    1. It's because the Filipinos themselves didn't get the joke at all. Kaya offended kuno. Lalo na un mga naunang nanlait like Gretchen Ho.

      Delete
    2. Probably not cool to accuse people of being a racist because they didn't like him.

      Delete
The jokes weren't funny, yun lang yun

      Delete

    2. Stop the race card hun. Broaden your shoulders. He was not funny at all.

      Delete
    3. 5:14, 1:02 is right. They were nit using the race card. RickyG. was insulting with his jokes sa previous GG but he got a pass for it for being white. He roasted them right then and there pero wala silang nagawa.

      Delete
    4. 5:14 It was not race card.

The least Taylor could do is smile, yung joke about her is not even a dig at her but the NFL's seeming obsession of her pero death glare talaga? And Kudos to Streep and De Niro. Lalo ko lang sila hinangaan.

  13. If the host was Dave Chapelle or Kevin Hart ni walang magsasalita promise.

      Delete
  14. Hit and Miss jokes ni Jokoy but it’s not terrible. It was a tough room seconded by other comedians in Hollywood. Madami Lang Marites all over the world only because they’re not familiar with Jokoy. If it was a bigger host, grin and bear mga yan

    ReplyDelete

    1. He is not well known. Pero most, if not all, of his shows are sold out. They even need to add days to accomodate other people who wants to watch. Basta ako, no comment ehehe English kasi joke nia. I only know Jokoy from my husband who is whitewashed like him.

      Delete
    2. Whitewashed ? He's American, Americans of different skin tone acts like him. How's he supposed to speak think and act?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Some people kasi nowadays are too sensitive na. At react nalang kaagad.
Mas brutal but totoo ang mga jokes ni Ricky Gervais when he host the GG.
Yung naghost ng oscars na african american last year, waley yung hosting nya, in my own opinion ha.

    ReplyDelete

      Delete
    2. Nakakatawa kaya Lalo Yung last ni gervais

      Delete
    3. i love ricky gervais haha dry and dark haha but im also a kevin hart and jokoy fan. i also like trevor noah and forever a fan of jerry seinfeld. iba iba pa din talaga ang reception ng tao sa stand up comics

      Delete
    4. I love the last three you mentioned plus Fluffy or Gabrielle Iglesias. Fluffy does not use profanity sa mga joke nia and super funny talaga siya esp when he makes sound.

      Delete
    5. You probably didn't understand half of what Gervais was talking about Kaya di ka natawa. Only people who consume alternative sources understood Kaya nga viral Yung clip na yun

      Delete
  19. Those celebrities like Taylor Swift , etc were not ready to be roasted by Jo Koy who is unknown and unpopular to them.
Jokoy did his part- the audience didn’t.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. it wasn't even a roast. swifties are just rabid fans. however most of jokoy's hokes were flat.

      Delete
    2. yup, mataas kasi mga ego nun

      Delete
    3. Feeling nila, who is this Asian guy roasting me? They think highly of themselves . I think they would have reacted differently if it was Ricky Gervais or Chris Rock etc the more popular ones.

  20. Ive watched jo joy’s gigs and also his GG’s stint hoping he would do great but it was 50/50. Most of his monologue were off like that part with Robert De Niro

    ReplyDelete

    1. i agree. Level headed people think like this. Hindi yng porke pinoy sya e ipipilit nyo nakakatawa. It wasn't

      Delete

    ReplyDelete
  22. come on now! i know he's half Filipino, but come on. it wasn't funny. let's be real most of the jokes were not funny. he didnt do a good job even jokoy himself knows it. the taylor joke wasn't offensive, but it wasn't funny, it was ok. the barbie joke shouldn't have left their meeting room. the rest are meh. He should've just been a host and not a comedian during that stint. it's not his best work. yes, he shouldn't be bullied or cancelled, yes he's still a good comedian, but he failed on this one.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Good or bad publicity still a publicity

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yes mga stand up comedian sa US kahit offensive, tinatanggap nila kahit pikon na sila peto dahil si Jokoy ay half, iba ang dating sa kanila. Mga privilege 🙄

    ReplyDelete
  25. Sandali lang ang prep niya, halos wala ng time to watch every single nominated 🎥. Bias sila.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I agree with you. the jokes were funny if you don't take them seriously. kumbaga wag kang pikon. i didn't like the joke about Robert de Niro though. But the Taylor Swift Joke, It wasn't that bad. wala lang sense of humor si TS. Sana tinawanan na lang nya. wala namang nakaka insulto dun sa joke... besides Jokoy was given only 10 days to prepare. and yun nga di siya kilala ng mga who's who na nandun sa GG.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Love love love michael v.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Until now d ko parin gets Kung ano ang offensive dun sa joke about TS. OA kasi ng reaction.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Next time paghostin nyo si Ate mo Gretchen Ho with her index cards.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Totally Agree with Michael V..

    ReplyDelete
  31. Jo Koy grew up in the US of A so he is 100% American :) :) :)

    ReplyDelete
Grabe. Ano yun discrimination?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yup subtle discrimination in a room
      full of hypocrites promoting DEI

      Delete
  33. I love JoKoy’s stand up jokes, the fact na ginanun nya si TS eh abay Proud to be Pinoy dapat tayo! Atapang a tao. 😆😆😆

    ReplyDelete
  34. Todo tanggol ang mga pinoy, lets accept that most of the jokes fell flat. The worse is jokingly (seemingly annoyed) blaming his writers for his failed jokes, I think thats what turned off the audience.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I watched Ben Shapiro’s Youtube regarding the GG and commenting about Jo Koy and TS, He has better take than the Filipinos here on FP completely roasting Jo Koy.
Comments on his youtube posts are more siding Jo Koy than TS and GG in comparison to kapwa Pinoys na feeling mga westerner na.
Jo Koy’s jokes are sometimes corny but he shouldn’t be crucified for that nor he should apologize for his jokes.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I watched Jokoy before GG. I don’t find him funny, can’t finish it. I watched his GG, still not funny. He looked awkward, no confidence in delivery, different from his usual stand-up routine. I don’t have any problems with his jokes, but not cool to through your writers under the bus and agree with MV that he shouldn’t explain himself now. The roasts are part of his job. If the GG audience, celebrities that is, can’t handle it, then skip the awards night.

Meryl streep was gracious enough na sakyan yung jokes ni jokoy especially about the walanda forever line, while ito naman si Taylor parang high and mighty

    ReplyDelete
  38. All these people saying negative things to Jokoy, I bet they can't even host a child's birthday party.

    1. No one said we can thats why were not comedians, hello 😆 This is his profession so we expect him to do his job.

  39. I don't think it's about race, tarnished na din ang GG because of past scandals so mga tao just go there for promo or get awards. Wala silang makuhang A lister and dito sa US sa ibang channel na ang broadcast. And it's been a week nobody even talks about it anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  40. i’d say it’s just pure ‘who you’ from the audience… did TS react the same way when it was Amy poehler and Tina Fey?

    ReplyDelete
  41. TBH, if he only has 10 days to prepare + he's gonna deal with tough crowd, then kudos to him for having the balls to take this challenge.

It's difficult to be funny these days because people are easily offended.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Let us not put any racial narrative here, dahil wala naman tayong proof na racists sila. But let us just accept that these A-list celebrities are not Jo Koy's usual audience. He is unknown to them. Hollywood has become so woke that everything is now "offensive," "mysoginistic," "racist," etc. even if it's just a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  43. ok, so at the gg, he wasn’t funny to many. you know how you can see what stuff a person is made of? how he acts when the chips are down.

and for me, the interviews jo koy has done since the gg, to reflect on his performance…show that he is a good guy who just had a bad performance. as for his stand up, i myself think his regular jokes are too pinoy-specific and therefore can’t cross over…so i am not a fan.

    ReplyDelete
Obviously, he should know he is a C lister among A listers. He should have used that to his advantage by building it to his spiels.

    ReplyDelete

    1. $500k ang bayad sa kanya, plus exposure... Ikaw ba ay hindi mo tatanggapin iyan?

      Delete
  45. Watching it now made me realise how super elitist and racist hollywood is. Pepole saying it’s not about race are hypocrites.

    ReplyDelete
  46. In fairness, mas nakilala si Jokoy because of this gaffe. His face is plastered all over entertainment news and tabloids (with Taylor Swift). The media is always quick to react pag TS kaya damay si Jokoy haha
