But it was shallow and he only loved her as long as it doesn't get in the way of his own needs and wants. Perhaps as a hot blooded young man, the world was his oyster, including girls who throw themselves at him. He needed Kb for the fame and riches their LT can give, and in return, there are expectations since they've gone from reel to real. He couldn't measure up to those expectations. KB, for sure, suffered a lot in that setting - she had to forgive, forgo, tolerate and play blind while feeling as if she wasn't enough. Insecurities develop from this and if you aren't strong, you will be a doormat. It's good she let go.

They tied them down at such young ages (16 & 17) years where they should’ve been exploring life but instead they were stuck with eachother. I know there’s no excuse for cheating but you know there was no way he would break up with her during their prime years. They both had too much to lose and people (family, mgmnt, fans) depending on them.

She protected, pressured and pushed for them to be together but also had expectations from KB. Anything important she does, supported ni KB. KB exuded ideal GF behavior. The least DP could do was the same. And if he cheated on KB time and again, DP should know he could not hack the expectations. The least he could do is be honest with KB. He could have said to KB - "I cannot commit to you in love, let's break up." No, he strung her along all these years. She in turn behaved like a young wife.
