    1. I went to Arabica in 5th ave during the first week it opened. Kakabukas pa lang pero ang dumi na sa prep area, counters, yung machine and yung parang kitchen. Kaya di na ako babalik dun. Tapos nakita ko tong post, do na ako nagulat.

  4. Hindi kasi napapasara yang nga ganyang store sa bansa natin kaya they keep belittling regular customers. May store ba dito sa BANSA NATIN na napasara dahil sa ganyan ipis uod towel etc wala as in wala. They are not even held responsible nor give compensation to people with such complaints. Ako na nakakain ng panis na macaroni salad sa isang fastfood chain nung buntis pa ko imbes na magaplogize ang manager nagpatawag ng security guard kasi nanggugulo daw ako sa store same with what happened sa nagpost nito.

    2. Meron kaso hindi napasara but nalugi or na downsize. Remember yung restaurant na may higad sa ginisang kangkong? Nawalan ng patrons kaya bumaba sales after na post yun. But meron din lumalabas na smear campaign yun ng competitor. Di mo naman dapat humantong sa ganyan.. and yes possible scenario na it could be a smear campaign din perooo dapat hinandle pa rin ng mgt and staff ng store nang maayos ung customer at hindi ung parang tinapakan pa pagkatao nya dahil nagreklamo sya.. It could have been handled properly with a customer-centric approach ang ginawa nila.. js lang

    7. Hindi po basta basta pinapasara lang ang mga food establishments sa ibang bansa just because of a mere complaint. Usually may investigation po and they are given the chance to rectify it and improve their cleanliness etc. Tsaka lang po ipapasara kung repeat offender sila with solid proof.

      But I do agree na halos ang baba ng food safety standard sa Pinas or kung meron man eh hindi na fofollow. Remember and food safety regulation po is not only exclusive para sa mga shalalang establishments. Anyone handling food should abide to it weather sa Carinderia pa yan or turo-turo stall.

    1. Pwedeng sa ice cream machine? If yung machine nila is parang sa mga soft serve ice cream then possible na sa machine galing if not regularly nililinis.

    2. Happened to me. My order was coke float. Yes it had ice cream too. Favourite tambayan ng mga ipis lalo na yung maliliit na german coackroach (yes yung mga mukhang beans ang size) yung mga crevices ng soda at ice cream machines lalo pag hinde nalilinis yung loob.

      So from experience, probably legit ang complain. Kasi he has ice cream on his affogato.

      Akala ko rin buo na chocolate and even chewed on it. At oo lasa siyang carton so naweirduhan ko. Kakasuka. So mula non, hinde na ako kumain ng anything sundae at di na rin ako nagsosoda unless its from can or bottle.

      Walang nangyari sa complain ko, also very private akong tao, and very busy so I didn't post anything at ayokong lumaki pa. Nagbayad lang sila ng damages.

  15. Naalala nung nagdine in ako isang known family cafe, may maliit na ipis sa fruit tea. Ang ginawa ko, tinawag ko ung attention ng isang waiter at pinakita ung ipis. Mabilis nilang pinalitan ung fruit tea at todo sorry ung manager. End of the story free lahat ng food ko.

  20. Feeling ko po sa ice cream dispenser cguro nila galing yung ipis. Kasi dba sa affogato yun. Kasi if yung coffee, i assume freshly extracted yung espresso?(hindi pa po ako nkapunta nor nkatry sa arabica na store kahit delivery) if malalaking coffee shop, i think mai own na ice cream dispenser yung shop? Unlike small coffee shops nkagalon lng yung vanilla ice cream

    On a serious note, kung wala kang hard evidence na magpapakita na sa kanila galing yung ipis. Or ibang customers na lulutang at magrereklamo pa, talo ka.
    Ang ending nito ikaw pa may kaso for defamation.

  23. Have to give props kay customer, he reached out to management and their process of handling complaints before posting online. Usually post lang agad ung iba. As for Arabica, I hope they close shop para unemployed ang mayayabang na barista (na you wonder, bakit ba ang yabang nila) and their management.

    1. Sa justice system ng Pilipinas uugod ugod na yung complainant hindi pa tapos case nya. In terms of bigger compensation, he need not ask for it dapat i offer yon ng Arabica because.... IPIS!!!!! Kung ako makakain ng ipis eh talagang isasamlal ko yung 1k at mug nila. Napaka bastos and degrading ng offer ng lawyer nila.

  25. Problema kasi sa Philippines walang sanitary food inspection. Sa US and other countries pag madumi at di pasok sa standards and sanitation ng restaurant mo, papasara ka hanggang di ka pasado.

    1. Meron naman din tayo sanitary inspectors, Sanidad nga ang tawag sa kanila. Kaya lang kapag " nahayinan" ng sangkaterbang pagkain ang mga inspectors after mag- check ng facilities, wala na yung mga violations. Alam ko yan kasi nagtrabho ako sa restaurant dito sa atin. Pero noong nagtrabaho ako sa middle east, nakakatakot mga health inspectors doon. As in on the spot kaya nila ipasara kahit malalaking establishment. Ganun ka-powerful ang mga Baladiya doon.

  27. If sa ibang bansa to nangyari sarado agad yan until magawa ang standard checks and ma-address ung concerns ng customer. Madalas nga kusang ginagawa un ng establishment kaysa ipaabot pa sa kung ano mang authorities meron relating to food safety and consumer protection. Pero sadly sa Pinas nangyari so nganga na lang. Ikaw pa masisisi na hindi mo chineck bago ka umalis ng store. Nakakaput****na talaga sa atin.

  32. I used to do Food Safety audits before sa isang famous fast food chain and this is very common sa mga Sundae machine since they are sweet. She shoudnt give them the evidence and the establishment should’ve been investigated right after that incident. Ma ttrace naman yan kung dun nga sa establishment galing. This is an isolated case but the owners should take immediate action pag May ganitong foreign object found in their food.

  35. If you check out the profile of the one who posted the complaint, you may note that he owns a café. Kaya mejo ambivalent ako sa post. Kasi baka sinisiraan lang nya competitor cya. But cge benefit of the doubt.. I believe binigyan na cya ng 1k voucher ng coffee shop. What else does he expect the coffee shop to do for him? Lumuhod?

    1. Hmmmn. Opinion ko lang to ha, he may or may not be saying the truth pero I think it’s pointless for him na siraan ang Arabica kahit na may cafe pa sha. He’s a small player compared sa global brand na Arabica. Its like carinderia ni maria sa kanto ay sisiraan ang Mcdo. Like ano makukuha nya. It would still not slow down their sales, regardless of the bad rep.

  40. I worked for the customer service department of a high-end burger place in the US. Protocol is to ask for a medical certificate.of the customer can provide evidence na nagkasakit siya dahil sa food namin, saka lang i-compensate.

  41. if that happened to me, definitely I wouldn't accept the 1k voucher and mug. they should answer for my medical tests, medical expenses, hospital bills, and damages for loss of income for days na na-hospitalizeako . Also a fair investigation of 3rd party or LGU (dapat impartial) hopefully closure ng business nila if found na may violations and non-compliance with health and safety standards. Sobrang dumi ng ipis, kung san san lumalakad yan, tapos makakain🤮🤮

    1. Food natin is food for ipis. Kaya mahirap makita sa kape since ka kulay nya yung kape plus liquid pa. If hindi up to standard yung food handling practices nila malamang dadapuan ng ipis. Na mminimize naman by keeping work station clean, keeping ingredients properly stored and inaccessible sa daga at ipis, and other tbings like regularly collecting trash.

  45. The coffee shop could have brought the customer to the hospital or clinic for quick check up and para marinig opinion ng doctor and maiwasan ang obnoxious scene sa shop nila. Kawawang may-ari, imagine you invested a lot of money tapos the people handling your business is walang concern. To the customer naman, sana he brought himself din agad sa hospital kasi sabi niya upset stomach and dizzy na sya, hindi ko gets what he is expecting too.

  47. Our family had lunch at a chinese restaurant in bgc. May maliit na ipis sa pechay na nasa noodle soup. We complained, the waiter apologized, the manager came out and apologized, got our phone number para mabalikan daw kami ng higher management, and insisted na free ang food but we still insisted to pay. Maayos kasi ang paghandle nila and took accountability. And usual naman talaga magka insects sa gulay, un lang hindi nahugasan ng maayos, but still appreciate the staff for acknowledging their mistake and promise to improve their sanitation.

    1. It always boils down kasi on how you craft your complaint. You were dignified and clearly have no malicious intention.

      Unlike this person na gera agad pero walang substantial evidence like medical certificate etc. and clearly looking for a payday.

      But the establishment should already have protocol for these type of complains/people. Crafted na dapat yan sa business plan nila.

      Siguro ang advise ko lang is make sure na documented yung complaint para talagang may accountability sa kanila kasi jan usually nagbabase ang mga health inspector.

  48. Well thats really traumatic. Dapat bayaran nila ng million yung customer. Nakain nya pa ung ipis eh. Kadiri parang mawawalan ka ng gana sa lahat kasi masuka suka ka.

    tye chichirya brand na binili namin sa grocery na under that company rin

    pagbukas , may metal screw sya like sa machine,
    di ganun kabigat pero may kalawang
    and dumi pa syempre

    we went to customer service nila sa grocery,


    repre ng brand pumunta pa sa bahay namin , mother ko nakausap and sabi babalikan kami
    , nagbigay ng chips nila
    maliilit nga lang sabi ko
    sa sarili ko di man lang ung large size 😭🤣🤣

    forgot na kung ano ang conclusion or resolution

    di ako nagpost kasi sabihin kami naglagay and imposible naman na may bakal sa chips nila

  50. 1. If he felt lightheaded and vomitting, may hospital sa BGC he can go to the hospitapl prior to coming back to the store.
    2. In the 10 days na naghihintay siya for a response, was there medical evidence? If there is he can ask for compensation and file for damages. Wala siyang binanggit or pinakitang medical certificate or documents so he cannot prove na may health damage sa kanya yung nangyari.
    3. Agree sa 3rd party health and sanitation investigation. Para ma-klaro din sa side ng merchant.

  51. This post made me appreciate Starbucks and Mesa for handling cockroach incidents.
    Share lang mga beks ng experience.
    Sa Starbucks, I saw cockroaches sa glass display nila. Niremove naman nila lahat ng pastries kasi nadaanan na nga ipis.
    Sa Mesa naman, yung fried rice na naserve nila sa amin meron din ipis. Buti na lang di pa nakita agad ng pamangkin ko. They replaced the rice and they didn’t asked us to pay na. Todo sorry pa nga ang manager.

  52. For me, sana sinabi nalang ni Kuya ano ang gusto niyang mangyari para may goal yung pagpunta niya kesa magtanong kung may tatawag. Kung apology, voucher , re-training or ipasara. Para sana klaro ano gusto niya mangyari. But still, unfortunate incident pa din siya. Tsk

  53. I don’t drink coffee, but have you had yourself checked by a medical professional since your claiming to have stomach issues after the said incident? If you want to move forward and press claims you should have at least supported yourself with documents. “Talking” will not resolve anything as you were not satisfied with whatever offer they served you. Obviously your pressing for more than that thus you should have prepped than ranting it out in public.

  55. It is hard to prove because take out sya. And aminin natin na if famous ang complainant, mas believable ang story kasi kilala natin. On the side of Arabica, they could have tried to resolve the issue or do damage control by temporarily closing their cafe as soon as they received the complaint. Eh nag “business as usual” lang sila na parang wala paki. Yung vomiting and dizziness, might be psychological in nature. Kadiri naman kasi if true, but i dont think it will cause him to get immediately sick like that……….
