what the heck?! so if you are in mental distress and you think its URGENT with all the capslock, just proceed to the nearest emergency room of a hospital?! totoo ba itong panawagan na to? sinong taong naguundergo ng ganitong situation ang may gan pang pumunta sa emergency room at sure ka bang may magaasikaso sa gaya nila na walang obvious physical illness?! they need a HOTLINE to call, a specialized group or organization who knows how to cater to their needs and can give immediate assistance before they attempt to do something dangerous or lethal.
If it will prevent someone from committing something that will cause harm to his/her self, then YES, go directly to the emergency room. Kuda ka agad ng kuda eh π€¦π»♂️
Para po sa iyong kaalaman, ang suicide attempt is considered a psychiatric emergency kaya tama din na pwedeng pumunta sa ER ng isang ospital. Kung may medical emergency, meron din mga psychiatric emergency kagaya ng mga nag aattempt ng suicide or nagsusumpong yung schizophrenia at pwedeng manakit ng sarili or ibang tao. Big hospitals have Psychiatrists who know what to do to help de escalate the situation. Wag talak ng talak pero hindi mo naman alam pinagsasabi mo.
Pls educate yourself about mental illness. Kung ang nag anxiety puwede magpa ER, lalo na ang may mental health problem. Hayy dami pa talaga uneducated pagdating sa problemang ito.
ako po... I did that when I wanted to unalive myself. I made excuses na masakit tummy ko and I wanna go to the ER but deep inside I went to the hospital to prevent myself from doing the unthinkable. Kasi in the hospital meron nurses that will check up on you every day and then meron meds etc
Most, if not all, doctors have some sort of background in Psychiatry/mental health. It’s a dedicated subject in medical school, plus it’s a required rotation in both junior (4th year) and post-graduate internship. “Walang obvious physical illness”—sorry, but as a physician, hindi naman yata kami ganon katanga to not know when a patient is presenting with a psychiatric emergency, with or without “physical” signs. You quite literally just need to talk to the patient in question at the ER to find out what’s wrong.
2:03 excuse me, im an ER nurse and all I see are patients who already attempted suicide before they even reached the hospital! siguro bilang lamg sa daliri ang ang pasenyenteng nag complain ng mental distress. jusko!
11:51 I’m an ER nurse, too. Yes, they could go to the emergency room for help. There are social workers and telepsych in ER. Actually a lot of psych patients go to ER, and if proven that they’re not safe to go home, we actually hold them either 5150 or 1799 until we find an appropriate placement
With all due respect 11:51PM, from a psychiatrist, this just means you aren’t asking the right questions. It makes me wonder if rapport and therapeutic communication have been established (right back at ya with the condescension).
Let's be honest taboo pa rin sa karamihan ang mental illness dito sa pinas. We need more awareness and conversations about mental health. Most counseling are based on religion unfortunately di po siya nadadaan sa dasal. We need proper science based therapy/counseling
So sad naman. RIP..

Delete11:53 you are not a nurse, if you are, then you shouldn’t be one with that type of attitude and mentality.
