That black gown may be an acquired taste. Siguro sa ating mga pinoy maganda siya because we understand the inspiration and the meaning behind it. But truth be told, it was overshadowed by others.
I love it, its unique, not recycled and what a way to honor Apo Whang Od. Michelle made us proud, at my age its my first time to spend ever in the voting because MMD truly deserved to be the winner, but it’s not the year for us. Kudos na lang to the winner whoever it will be.
Yung video sa bottom, I noticed she was trying to control her tears at one point. Tama kayo, alam na nya kung sino ang mananalo. Pero with her overall performance plus 2 awards, sana naka top 5 man lang.

It’s not a pageant gown. I think what works in Miss Universe is a pageant gown silhouette pero in a striking color para standout. Like Pia’s royal blue, and Cat’s fiery red.

Her gown is nice but not for winning missU. Si Mark Bumgarner pareho sila ni Rajo Laurel, 5 misses for every 1 hit output. Maganda naman design, pero laging parang hindi inisip yung taong magsusuot. Hindi complemetary sa body type and coloring ng taong susuot. Pang runway yung mga damit, pag pinasuot na sa normal na tao off runway, sablay.
Sana si next MUPH magwork with creative designers talaga not basta sikat ang pangalan. Diosko hindi pang laban si Mark B. Dami natin designers na magaling sa pageant even other countries have their pageant gowns made by pinoys. It's about showmanship, hindi lang design.
The designer could have taken into consideration of her short hair which is already a handicap. Babawi na sana sa gown to look her more feminine, hindi eh, naka sleek back pa at ang tigas ng gown

They should've beaded the whole thing, gave her a headdress or some sort of dramatic focal point and made this the national costume entry, not that abomination na mukha siyang buntis.
The Organization and the Audience specially aren't really interested sa history ng gown. They want a gown that is beautiful and striking at that very moment. Audience doesn't have time to learn the story of any gown.

Previous miss USA’s had a blue embellishment. Tapos naka updo pa ang hair and and design detailed hanggang baba. Uung kay MMD , naka sleek yung buhok, yung pang itaas detailed pero yung waist down parang tapis . Ang dilim tingnan all over.

Good concept but did not being anything for MMD. Lacks femininity and the bottom dress does not compliment the intricate upper. Bottom heavey dress, typical MB gown.

The top looks gorgeous and expensive. Sana dineretso na lang all the way down instead of a heavy fabric that looks like a tapestry. And with a high slit since she’s got million dollar legs.
Too edgy to be on the Miss Universe pageant. They treated the pageant na parang fashion week. Okay lang yun sa pre-pageant activities, pero sa finals sana yung gown and look na universally appealing.
Hindi niya na establish yung pose nya. Naging wobbly yung paa niya kung mapapansin niya medyo sumasabit shoes nya sa gown. Bilang pinagmasdan ko ang bawat angulo
the gown is ok, but since sabi nga is inspired by wang-od -- ididirecho ko na sa pagiging edgy since the inspiration is known for it...kung ginawa nia na body suit type ung taas at baba then ung pambalabal is silky ethnic type na hati sa gitna to give the illusion na buong katawan is tattooed since ganun naman si wang-od...pero since tapos na, ok na hahahha...congrats pa rin sa gown na nairampa.. :)
Mas may cultural impact pa yan than what she wore sa NatCos, ang ganda ng concept nung kay Whang Od sana! Pero she did great overall!

DeletePrevious miss USA’s had a blue embellishment. Tapos naka updo pa ang hair and and design detailed hanggang baba. Uung kay MMD , naka sleek yung buhok, yung pang itaas detailed pero yung waist down parang tapis . Ang dilim tingnan all over.

ReplyDeleteMaganda ang gown, she carried it well also. Face factor siguro naging lamang ng mga kalaban niya. Puro fierceness din ang pinakita which i guess may balance pa rin dapat ng sweetness like what Pia and Bea Gomez did. Saka el salvador im just so sure latina ang mananalo

ReplyDeleteToo edgy to be on the Miss Universe pageant. They treated the pageant na parang fashion week. Okay lang yun sa pre-pageant activities, pero sa finals sana yung gown and look na universally appealing.

ReplyDeletethe gown is ok, but since sabi nga is inspired by wang-od -- ididirecho ko na sa pagiging edgy since the inspiration is known for it...kung ginawa nia na body suit type ung taas at baba then ung pambalabal is silky ethnic type na hati sa gitna to give the illusion na buong katawan is tattooed since ganun naman si wang-od...pero since tapos na, ok na hahahha...congrats pa rin sa gown na nairampa.. :)
