  2. That "inspiration" feels like an after-thought or Bumgarner is a really bad designer.

    1. May i just add na kinopya niya lang yung design ng finals gown ni Michelle sa Binibining Pilipinas (the black one) from Tony Ward. So for me, he's a bad one.

    2. 12:06 how is it an after-thought? seriously curious. whether nagandahan tayo or hindi sa gown, i think your argument na hindi pinag-isipan eh hindi accurate. it looks purposeful.

    3. 12:06 has a point. It barely resembles whang ods tattoos. If you compare yung gown ni beatrice luigi na similarly ay indigenous din yung inspiration, yung pattern recgnizable talaga sa traditional na tattoo. Yung gawa ni baumgarner might as well be a typical beaded gown. The chest beading is especially weird and hindi mukhang pattern ng tattoo. Parang minadali.

Yung lower part, mas ok pag nilagyan din ng design not the tapis style. And mas ok siguro if dark green or dark blue, not black.

    1. Agree sa 1st part ng sinabi mo but not on the color.

    2. Tattoo nga dapat eh.

  4. For me, bet ko din evening gown nya.

    1. I agree. I just imagine kung Hanggang legs or para Yung detailed na design at hndi Yung parang tuwalya or kurtina na parang tapis.

  11. not a gown for pageantry; is a gown for documentary. the intention is inspiring but unfortunately, it was the wrong venue for it. her face was too made-up, maybe, to compensate for the strong design of the gown. it is just too-heart-evangelista-way-too-much-make-up look. just did not work.

  12. ang ganda ng gown. couture

Yung patterns are all beads. Yung skirt medyo shimmery din pag naglalakad but again, subtle din yung kinang.

  14. What's everyone complaining abt? Kesyo pangit yung skirt, etcetc.. when you have something that's inspired by our national treasure, you'd probably want to tone down on the bottom part. To me, the very detailed top was complemented by the simplicity of the skirt. It was in my opinion a smart move. My eyes are fixed on the inspiration (tattoes/whang-od). I'd probably get distracted and my attention diverted if the designer added more details into it.

  20. Bakit kasi kailangan lahat may meaning? Simula nung nanalo si cat may explanation or symbolism lahat. Di pa pwedeng pumili ng magandang gown w/out meaning? Cat pulled it off the pero yung iba oa na

    1. Ha?

  23. Na mekus mekus tsyo huhuu not fair! Sorry na di ako maka move on. I love the gown bery meaningful and symbolic. I salute whoever made this brilliant idea. Samantalang yun gown ni Ms. Thailand, maganda pero it was too revealing.

  24. The universe laid it all in front of her. May path na siya, may pattern. All she has to do was to wear a green gown during coronation lol. This gown would’ve been a national costume sayang. Well done pa rin MMD, stunning all through out!

  25. The inspiration for the gown did not matter at all when you were on stage. nagiging back story nalang ito actually when a candidate won the crown.

Although Whang OD is a National Artist, she is not well known for it.

    1. Nalito ako sa last sentence mo 3:53. Whang Od is not well known for it? From what I know, ang daming dumadayo kay Whang Od, mapafilipino man or foreigner, para magpatattoo. Even her Vogue Magazine cover was recognize around the world. So im unsure about what you said

  26. MD carried and projected the Whang-Od-inspired gown very well. I find that unique and outstanding.
