ReplyDeleteNo it's the color of their flag. The flag they weren't allowed to wave because of their government but the people defied this and showed this by upholding the flag in support of their Ms. Universe pageant candidate.

ReplyDeleteI guess a lot of people didn't know that Nicaragua is on the brink of a civil war. There were a lot of uprisings and demonstrations because they oppose their oppressive president who won his 5th term by the way with no plans of ever leaving his post. Parang martial law duon. And Sheynnis is in the midst of it all; she's an activist and really had a beef with their government. For the longest time they weren't allowed to wave their flag but in total act of defiance, Sheynnis wore the colors in her gown. She was even told by the govt people not to go home after the pageant but they retracted their statement after she won. And the people went out the streets proudly waving their flag in total support and to celebrate her victory. So this is really more than a win for the Nicaraguan people, it's their hope. It is Sheynnis' destiny to be Ms. Universe - for her people, for her country.
