  1. Not sure if same sa US but I am assuming same rules since its Mastercard, you can file it as fraud and its $0 liability.

    1. I hope pinas does have the same rules for their mastercard or any credit cards. If it was an unauthorized transaction, she just needs to file it as a fraud and her bank will need to issue her a new card with new numbers

    2. I had the same issue. Mastercard when i was in Mexico. Omg after a day nilimos lahat nun remaining balance ko pati un sahod ko na dumating. Nakaka panghina talaga. Pero good thing sa US they just asked me to provide all the documents like letter of explanation,un history ng transcation (which is sa Manchester) ayun after 1 month bumalik naman un lahat ng nawala at binago un card ko.

    3. I've encountered online fraud with my BDO credit cards (used to purchase games, which I do not play) and I must say they have excellent customer service when it comes to disputes. Especially if you are a cardholder in good standing they reverse it right away and just say that they will conclude and close the investigation after 90 days and if claim is found to be valid then the transaction is permanently reversed.

They were able to charge $1k sa Chase ko and were trying to charge $700 more pero Chase sent me a fraudulent trans. warning. That was when I found out about sabcurrent transactions na ginawa and lahat yun European companies ang nag charge. Good thing 1 call lang sa Chase and they were able to reverse the transactions. Sana sa Pinas ganoon din kadali

    21. I am surprised na meron magsasabi na “it is just $11K”, dito sa North America kahit maraming pera they give value kahit sa small amounts. Minsan pag duplicate ang charge sa taxi kahit $20 they will really make sure to get it back and settle the same day.

      Delete
    3. True! Madaming ganyan sa BDO i am a victim p671,970 ALL PHIL transactions kahit meron akong travel advisory going to US on a specific dates meron nag transact dito sa Phils same time I am using my card in the US ayaw i-reverse ng BDO until now sending me calls, texts, emails collecting kahit lahat ng proofs of FRAUD binigay na dumaan na thru BSP wala pa rin ganid ang BDO! Ayaw aminin there is a problem with their system mayabang sila! ALL TRANSACTIONS PHYSICALLY DONE AT ALL S* ESTABLISHMENTS and 3 iphones purchased at S****** V***** WITHOUT ASKING FOR PROOF OF IDENTIFICATION considering the huge amount of transaction being made which is almost p300,000, H******** transactions of more than p70t, 90t, 100t lahat lumusot NO OTP, NO SMS ALERT, NO EMAIL ALERT RECEIVED? TOO MANY RED FLAGS !! YET STILL NO REVERSAL!! BEWARE ALL BDO CARD HOLDERS THIS IS REAL!!

    4. 2:16PM I'm sorry to hear this. Ganyan pala BDO. I've been with C******* for more than 20 years amd never akong na hack kaya kahit mababa exchange rate and marami pang mas appealing na CCs, dito pa rin ako.

  7. Was her account hacked or did someone she know use her card? BDO is just as bad as H*** in handling fraudulent transactions, tapos pag i-dispute mo ayaw naman tanggapin even tho the charges were made abroad at nasa Pinas ka that time. Same thing happened to my sibling too, pinagbayad talaga sya.

    1. Wala talaga. Our security and fraud systems in the PI are in the toilet. Di katulad dito sa u.s na tatawagan ka if some suspicious activities are detected sa credit card mo. They automatically cancel the transaction and replace your credit card.. i feel like the banks in the pi are taking advantage din because we don't have.a strict regulations on security and fraud. It's pathetic

  9. It can be void if proven that it wasn't her who spent the amount but if she can’t prove then she have to pay for it.. It is not that easy to void credit cards.. ang galing namn ng iba dito maka comment na i dispute that easy?. I work for mastercard btw..

    1. I guess the people who are saying to dispute it live int he US where fraudulent transactions can be disputed easily.

I am just curious of they are already in the US, but they still join in this website and make such comments.

Makes me wonder if it's not one big fishy modus by them because there was a time na maraming hacked accounts but one certain bank did not grant a lot of disputes.

      Delete
    2. Yeah. I'm still not paying. Anong gagawin nila sakin, kakasuhan? Sa kanila burden of proof. I can easily get another card.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Minsan kasi even if you dispute they will still charge you. Sa husband ko may na reverse sila but they were still making him pay yung ibang fraudulent transaction. Sabi ko wag nya bayaran and threaten to let go of the card na. Ayun, i rreverae din pala 🙄

      Delete
  17. If magaaply kayo for banking cards/debit card/credit card make sure to sign up for alert notifications. If your bank allows for a maximum transaction limit notification do that too since that’s extra protection for you as well. So if you set a 500 limit for a single transaction kung May gumamit ng card mo for 550, the bank will notify you first and get approval before the transaction goes thru.

    ReplyDelete
  18. As a Banker, customers have 0 liability sa any fraud transactions. They can either pay it and once the investigation is done then the bank can just refund the payment or they can just disregard the amount and not pay it. Yung mga banks takot sa BSP yan, report it to them if unresolved ng more than 6 months. Plus, artista ka so I am sure mas mabilis resolution ng sayo.

  21. Madami na talagang scammers sa mundo lalo na with the digital age. I am based sa US and once in a while I would get text messages that “my bank account is frozen because of suspicious activities” and these text messages will look like a text sent by an actual bank. In cases like these NEVER click the website link or call the number listed sa text message. Instead call the number listed sa likod ng mismong banking card mo or call your bank directly to verify. Don’t wait hours or days to do this. Call right away. Kahit alam niyo na scam it’s good to notify your bank immediately that way May record sila of you calling them.

    ReplyDelete
  22. This is BDO’s fault. They should contact the person first to verify if that is really her that wants the money not someone else. Get a lawyer if ayaw pakabog ng BDO. Im from US and if i have an expensive transaction the bank contacts me first before pursuing the needed money.

Or what if valid yung pinagamit nya yung card say for medical expenses pero unexpected na aabot sa ganung amount? Or if she doesn't have the capacity to shell out that much money, wala naman ata siyang projects lately? If fraud ito, cinall out na nya yung bank e.

The transaction occurred in another country, and despite the lack of explanation during the investigation due to confidentiality, I suspected the issue lay with them. As long as you can prove your innocence, the charged amount won't be held against you. However, following that incident, I decided to cut both my Visa and Mastercard with BDO. Buset sila.

Para din mawarningan nya ang ibang tao on what to watch out for. Sometimes talaga, celebrities do not use their platforms very well.

Also, filing a dispute would allow the bank people to do their job. If post ka lang ng ganyan, you are not really helping yourself or anyone for that matter.

Although, I feel sorry for her. Stressful as it is, dagdag mo pa ung loss of money tapos babayaran mo pa, it is like losing 2x.
